I did watch your video on registration of overseas teachers...I was an overseas university teacher from Pakistan before doing phd in china, after observing the chinese educational setting I turned to secondary school teaching from 2020 to date and now 2024 I am doing PGCE (teaching education credential),as you mentioned over 5 years of teaching experience , yes I do have that both at university level as well as secondary level. But for secondary teaching NZ reqd qualification I need educational credential, which is in pipeline...so what to do and which category under I shall apply to come over to NZ as a teacher
After PGCE, you can apply for NZQA IQA and see what outcome they give you. On the basis of that outcome, you can decide if you should apply for teacher registeration or not?
Have you spent 12 months or more in any country other than NZ over the last 10 years, even if you didn’t spend the 12 months all in one visit? If so, you will need a national police clearance (police vet) certificate from that country covering the entire time you lived there.

Hi Fahad, I would like to know for teacher registration is it mandatory to have school teaching experience or college lecturer experience will also work. And what is this practicum experience letter exactly?
If you are teaching your relevant subjects and age gap is not much then you may apply for evaluation to the teaching council by providing as much supporting documentation as possible such as details of subjects and course outline you are teaching vs. the course outline of subjects in the secondary schools in the new zealand. Moreover, practicum is the supervised teaching during the teaching degree you have done.
