@@fahadahmad3 Hi Fahad, thank you! I may not need to go through NZQA, as I completed my tertiary education in NZ. I plan to apply for a graduate diploma to study towards teaching. I noticed there are so many programmes provided by universities and also non-university institutes/polytechnics. I am not sure if a diploma from polytechnics would be a disadvantage when looking for teaching jobs... Thank you!

Thank you for appreciation. In order to teach in NZ, you must have a teaching qualification which should be assessed at least on level 7 of NZQA.

PGCE or any other educational degree.

First Apply for teaching IQA and right after that check your email. You will see that you can apply for 2 standard IQA. Each degree + transcript evaluation is done through 1 application.

It depends that how much overload NZQA is having at the time you submit application. If I talk about myself, it took 5 months. But I have heard now a days people are getting outcome within 2 to 3 months as well. So hope for the best and keep us posted.

It's a personal decision but I can share my thoughts, my experience and my research based on the information I have. The max a secondary teacher can earn at the moment in the new zealand is NZD 99,216 per year. Then there are tax deductions. I am living comfortable with my family here. We are 3 and soon we gonna be 4.

Hello. First thing, keep trying. The key thing is if you have got NZQA evaluation and registeration certificate from the teaching council and you are best fit for a school, even if they are not accredit, they can apply to get accrediation and then you can apply for visa. So key thing is first tick all the requirements boxes and then keep applying to all relevant job vacancies. I did my PGCE from Abu Dhabi. It was face-to-face.

These requirements are to teach in the UAE: A teacher teaching English language as a subject must have an IELTS Band Score of at least 7 (IELTS “good user”) or equivalent. A teacher using English as the language of instruction must have an IELTS Band Score of at least 6 (IELTS “competent user”) or equivalent.

I had to do IELTS although I was working in American Curriculum High School in the UAE where medium of communication was English language as well as my PGCE was from one of the universities in Abu Dhabi and there the langugae used for the teaching and learning was English as well.

All degrees and transcripts require to be attested by HEC.

Class teacher teaches from year 1 to 5. They stay with 1 class and teach them different subjects. Subject teachers teaches same specialized subject and they teach students from year 6 onwards till year 12 or year 13 in colleges.

There is a very very thin chance. So better to have teaching experience in either british or american curriculum schools at your home country (2 years or more) and then apply for better chances.

B.Ed will be your teaching IQA and Bachelor and Master would be stadard IQA. They all will get assess in one fees of teaching IQA. If you send BBA, BA and MBA then these are three qualifications. You would have to pay for one of them as standard IQA. What outcome you will get, it will depend upon what subjects you have studies along with many other factors that NZQA considers while evaluating qualifications. If you are keen to know the outcome then simple way is to apply for it. 🙂
