It was such a treat to see Tom Cavanagh on a DC tv show again. He brought that cool, crisp Reverse Flash energy (and even some snarky Harry Wells energy too). He was an excellent choice for Gordon Godfrey. Also surprising to see Milton Fine/Brainiac tonight. And now the writing is on the wall for a final battle between Superman and Lex Luthor in his war-suit. This is gonna be awesome.
I disagree that Cavanagh was a good choice. I found his presence extremely distracting. Godfrey wasn't supposed to be the focus of the episode, but-even though I know they're not going to connect him to Wells-I couldn't stop focusing on him.
John Henry Irons suit i believe was Lex Luthor's suit in his universe. If you remember back in the first season, the suit referred to John Henry Irons as Luthor because there was something wrong with the system, if i remembered correctly.
The Irons’ made the suit for Captain Luthor who was a captain in the fight against the Kryptonians in their universe. John Henry stole it because he wanted to kill Superman to avenge his wife. The AI was programmed to serve Luthor, who it thought would be the user of the suit, so that’s why it called him Captain Luthor in season 1.
Maybe you don’t realize but Tom cavanagh saying “if you’re watching” it’s the same tone when Barry saw the video of thawne admitted murdering Nora Allen
This show is so good , I don’t want it to end!!. It’s unfortunate that it has had to prematurely end since the showrunners said they had atleast a 7 season plan… It’s such a good take on the Superman mythos!!.
I believe the wiki says they had to end it so people would not get confused, with the new Superman coming up and all. It's sad but we got 4 great seasons so no complaints from me tbf.
14:00 I hope you guys noticed this but that's the same effect they use whenever someone's super hearing starts coming into effect. that's why he could hear the ball bearings in the globe, the biscuit crumbs sound like rocks crashing in a quarry etc. Lex got Clark's heart, Jordan got Lex's heart mushed in his face.
@@Igorteddede ikr! at the end of the finale episode after wiping away the snot and tears etc I thought "hang on, wtf was the point in that scene then??"
There's a link between Lois calling Lex's daughter and Lex having a panic attack. Lex has a really sharp mind so intuitively he felt something was off about Amanda's plan. If Milton hadn't been ready to hack into John and Nats suit, Lex would've been in a sticky situation. I think Lex is going to betray the hell out of Amanda.
I loved both the classic Lex Luthor look and Tom Cavanagh as Glorious Godfrey, but I still couldn't believe they made a Superman III reference with Nat mentioning "Mr. Gorman" from our world as a tech genius (Gus Gorman).
On your discussion of Clark's heart: I think an interesting, potential take is that Doomsday (frees from Lex's control) sacrifices himself for Clark (like Bizarro did for Clark and Tal-Rho against Lt. Anderson in Season 2). And Doomsday recognizes he can't be the hero after what he did, so he lets Clark take his heart in order to fully return as Superman

I was looking up what was with this Mr. Gorman name and it was the guy played by Richard Prayor in Superman III. In an early draft of the movie he was supposed to be a human disguise for Brainiac so I guess this was the reference as Milton Fine is also an alias for Brainiac.
Tom Cavanaugh's character being Godfrey is giving me some Young Justice flashbacks. I'm wondering if they were planning on doing Darkseid and Apokalips before the show got canceled
Technically this Godfrey is more in line of the one from DCAU's Justice League cartoon, a normal human with no ties to Darkseid, with his own talk show and hellbent on making the heroes look bad.
Making those lights would be pretty hard for any normal person to do. Just like if she told the world Superman was weak to Kryptonite, how many people realistically would have any sort of chance to access to such a thing? Keep in mind Luther didn't make those lights Milton did, and as Nat and John Henry Irons deduced, Milton is seemingly one of the smartest computer geniuses on that earth. I feel like this was something only a very few amount of people should engineer?
I don't think they've ever implied it was secret in this universe, we've seen it used against him plenty of times before. Plus Clark being powerless is very important to proving his innocence here, a powered superman beating a civilian would look poorly even if he was justified.
If anyone was watching Luthor having a super hearing, we would know that he actually stole Superman's heart and put it in his chest while destroying his own heart just to fool Jordan. If Superman wants to be Superman again, then he either take his heart back from Luthor by switching the heart or someone else or Doomsday gave him his own heart. Nice to see Tom Cavanagh again, but playing Gordon Godfrey who was more like the doppleganger of Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne's Reverse Flash.

And later killed not to mention yes she ignored Clark warning however she just wanted to look at the person responsible for all of it so can’t blame her I do t disagree it was mistake but at the same time I get it
I think whatever Brainiac/Luthor do with John’s suit will be Superman and Lois’ version of Cyborg Superman in the comics’ “Reign of the Supermen” story. Luthor will pose as the world’s new hero to replace Superman, who along with Lois can’t be trusted. I still think Luthor is keeping Superman’s real heart for some purpose-does he intend to transplant it into himself? Or does Milton have a plan to use it to create a cyber being of some sort?
It's mentioned at some point that a deal hasn't been cut with Otis' lawyers, and that the prosecutor was going to talk to him in a few days (hence the "suicide")

What is with this weirdo, bizarre sexual attraction that Amanda has for Lex?! He is NOT at all attractive, quite gross, evil & a blatant psychopath! Not exactly what any woman with an operable brain cell, dreams of. It makes no sense, so it's just so annoying! Lois really pissed me off by blindly walking into Lex's trap! Of course, I adore Superman (as well as the actor, himself!). But, Lois does tend to be a stubborn simp, way too often!
Your comments on anything Jon Irons are usually very platonic at best...hmmmm🤔
I think they are portraying Lex as being on the spectrum. Anyone else catch that ???
not really? I took it as him having a minor panic/anxiety attack thinking about how many things could go wrong since it wasn't his plan.
Tom cavanah is gonna be brainiac
