A thought about the brakes - if something was wrong with the assembly of the master, or if you had a pedal stop set too deep the brakes would ratchet on like that. I suppose abs pump could be a culprit too. At any rate calipers are fine as it releases as soon as you bleed that trapped pressure. You'll have to show us when you do sort it out.
@@matt13rosskeep either the 996 or 997 turbo as your drivers car (I'd do a rwd conversion on the 996 and keep it) and then get the 991 turbo as your max performance car hitting up SRM for their 1000hp kit.
When are you installing frunk/hood struts so you can stop using that pipe to keep the hood open? 😛 But seriously. Amazing work. Been so cool to see this thing come together. The finish line is near...

@@matt13ross I’d chat with your paint and bodywork guy! I’ve used a dolphin glaze before and it has a hardener you mix in…or there’s a new UV cured 1-part glaze.
I agree if it's the old lacquer based stuff. Too stiff for a urethane bumper. I also agree with Scott_Meyer72. I use Dolphin glaze. Smooth as your girlfriend's bottom. 😊
I'm new here, just got on board with the blown up m3 and have been watching back a few projects but the sound levels are insane. It goes from basically silent to full on Sat night rave party (yep I'm old). Maybe even that out a bit?? Just because it's loud doesn't mean it's dramatic.
I have just binge watched the whole lot and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Makes me think about trying it myself. 🛠️ Can’t wait to see the next instalment.
I hope you don't regret that carbon fiber lip. That lip is typically considered a disposable part because it scrapes so often. Most people have the standard flat black plastic lip because of that. Cheap replacement
@@matt13ross lol. I really hope you don't end up scraping it but I have scraped mine trying to leave parking lots while going as slow as possible at an angle.
It's not like they scrape away after a few weeks. Just gotta drive slow over unknown bumps. XD You can also use "L Shaped Car Door Edge Guards - 18 FT Car Door Edge Protector" on the lip and scrape that instead. Get a few extra years out of it.
@@adidasman12 mine has plenty of scrapes on the bottom side of it. But mine is just plastic and not painted. With the carbon fiber and clear coat on it scraping it can spread beyond just where it scrapes.
I would love to know if there is anyway you could figure out which PPF that was... if it can withstand that chemical attack it seems it would hold up for yearrrrrrs.
997.1 turbo is my dream car. The only thing I don't like is the upper vent I just think a mesh vent would look more modern. But that of course is a personal choice.
Hi Matt! Is it possible to install the mesh grill kit without removing the horisontal vent covers in the bumper? Could only see it on Rennlines website without the original horizontal vent covers on the pictures
More progress! Love to see this happening, Matt! Again, I can't help myself, your editing makes your videos even more fun to watch! Oh, and stop walking around naked! 🤣

Matt, you are nailing it again! Fun video and that front bumper with those Rennline pieces…oh man!!!
That car has come a loooong way. Cant wait to see a 993 or 964 restoration after which you can ship it to me.
991 Turbo is next, obviously.
Only 991 for me is a GT3! I just can't do automatics
That would be sick too
@matt13ross no worries 993 and 964 were mostly manual 😉

Babe, wake up. Matt Ross uploaded.
Probably a bit late now but maybe a soda blast would have been a better way to strip that bumper. Lookn sweet though.
I'm sorry you had to buy a sander, it's almost a phobia of mine.
Would sand blasting/media blasting have been the way to go?
Not sure with plastic. Maybe?
The stripper part made me laugh twice 😂
That was my goal lol
Hey Matt, did you think about taking that bumper to a media blaster to remove that PPF? You have a lot of patience 👍🏻
I didn't. Wonder how that would effect the plastic?
@@matt13ross there are different types of media you can use to remove what’s on the surface. You should check it out some time. 😁
Maybe next time lol
Mr Matt is nothing to sneeze at 👍
It's a shame that you let the paint stripper run into nature typical America
Bless you!😂
Thank you! lol
I think after the third coat of stripper I would have been buying a new bumper. I appreciate your perseverance
Used ones are $500 ish without shipping and would still need work. Trust me I debated it lol
Did you try glass cleaner though??
You know he did😅
Oh I found it @11:15
DUH I did guys!! lol
that bumper just transformed the whole car completely!!!! it looks amazing!!!!! 😤🔥
Best rebuild series on youtube
Too kind, thank you!!
Matt, you are definitely in a very small group of RUclipsrs that I hit the "👍🏼" before I watch anything! Another phenomenal video!
I appreciate that a lot!
The German-style techno while you were sanding had me chuckling 😂 your content is coming along great bud, good work 👍🏼
Can’t believe this is the same car 😮. I’m an ex automobile electrician and that wiring was even daunting for me 😂
Ross weekend uploads are the best.
Wow what a mess. Congrats to the finished product though!
A tip with paint stripper is to cover it with plastic so that the vapor stays, it works a lot better 😊👌
Is it just me, or do a lot of the strippers these days soften up the plastic more than they remove the paint?
@@fundamentallybroken4194yes it is in the category ''they don't make them as they used to''.The old stuff just works better

Why do they call it “Paint Protection Film”
When you have to ruin the paint to remove it?
Same with Wraps
Yup!!
people should stop putting on ppf etc. what's worse, natural road rash or a yellowing ppf that ruins the paint when you goto remove it.
