I live in North Texas. When I needed a replacement fan motor I brought the old one into Grainger and they sold me a new one. I didn't specify that I was not a licensed contractor. There may be state by state rules on that. For capacitors and the circuit boards i just looked on ebay and amazon what what I have needed. Good luck!

Isn't it dangerous to touch the capacitor connectors without discharging any remaining electricity from it first?

No it's ac. If it was dc discharge it. Ac it won't hold it's charge
