Isn't it dangerous to touch the capacitor connectors without discharging any remaining electricity from it first?

Yes. It can be a quick ticket to the ER. Or it will bite the sh!t out of you.
Either you offer up a sacrificial screwdriver or bleed it with a tool.
He forgot to advise everyone to be cautious.
He did start with "he learned from an HVAC friend".
So we knew what we were watching at that point.

No it's ac. If it was dc discharge it. Ac it won't hold it's charge

Yeah mine just stopped and they’re not available for three months , I must now replace my furnace. By the way NOTHING STOPS A TRANE 🤬except the one thing that moved

The video just ended without tell viewers the solution to the problem. Did you ended up replacing the whole control board?

Replaced the circuit board. I have another video in two parts on how I did that. Thanks for watching.

Nice video. Thanks. Where can DIY home owners purchase the parts for AC system. I called Grainger and they said that they sell parts only to licensed technicians.

I live in North Texas. When I needed a replacement fan motor I brought the old one into Grainger and they sold me a new one. I didn't specify that I was not a licensed contractor. There may be state by state rules on that.
For capacitors and the circuit boards i just looked on ebay and amazon what what I have needed. Good luck!

So how did you end up repairing this? The video cuts off as you are talking about the circuit board taking a signal from the thermostat to turn on the AC (4:38).

Hi Ty, so that was my quick fix. I replaced the circuit board. I have a video in 2 parts on that also on my channel. Good luck with your furnace.
