Has the GameNight crew ever made a video of their own personal top ten favorite games? They should! They've been playing scores of games for years now on RUclips. I'd be very interested to hear which ones would make their final cut. Each regular participant should compile their own. Do it, GameNight!
I watched this entire playthrough, which only happens on rare occasions. Then, I just played this game for the first time yesterday. What a masterpiece! This game is a breath of fresh air... So much fun!!! Thanks everyone for another great playthrough! And thanks to James and everyone who made this gem of a game!
@@TiberiuAnghelina Actually, I have no idea. I could be wrong, it's been a while since I watched this. For some reason, I thought he was involved. Maybe I just thought that because he knows so much about it? Shows what I know.
At 1:38:17 James and Nikki split 6 points when they tie for 2nd place in the battle. Should they not have split 3 points rounding up according to the following rule? "If 2 or more players are tied for 2nd place, they split the 2nd place award evenly, rounding up."
in the second round of battles, Nikki busted, but did not flip her shield back. Then in the third round, Lincoln noted that her shield was still down and everyone was just: "oh too bad" since nobody noticed :D Then in the third round she busted again and again didn't flip her shield. would have probably changed some outcomes this game
Oh man, I needed this video about a week ago. My husband and I have played this game four times since it arrived last week, and we LOVE it. I saw some complaints on BGG forums that Jabberwock is underpowered and Mad Hatter is overpowered, so I suggest if someone is playing in a game with a group who has mixed experience with it, give Mad Hatter to the novice and Jabberwock to the person most experienced. Edited to add: my husband and I collectively have played all 5 characters and we love them all. I can already tell that this is one of my favorite games of all time.
This has just bumped to top of my wishlist. I'd had my eye on it anyway, probably due to the really cool artwork, but now having watched it played it seems like SUCH a cool game And I might also add that I continue to love all of these Game Night videos. You guys are ace, the content is brilliant. I keep going back and watching old episodes. I love them
One of my favourite games in my collection right now, and popular with my game group. 5 games down and we still want to play more. I bought retail and also bought coin capsules for the chips. Well worth pimping the chips.
Love that moment at 1:13 in where explanation is over and you are all enraptured with the game. Been a while since I saw a vid and thought that's a must play.
wait, I think there was a mistake. after the first tea time they all take madness but then after the first battle with Nikki and Dave, James timed out and had them take madness again
At 59:20 James stops and has everyone add a madness chip (and Lincoln add two) but I thought that they did do this, I know that Lincoln lost half of his madness chips, and I thought that is when they added the chips to their bags. It looks like this was done at 54:38.
Deluxe Edition turned up recently and it is just such a beautifully produced game. I am so looking forward to my first game on Saturday. Oh and for those that are having difficulty, which looking at lots of videos it appears is most people, Tulgey is pronounced “Tull-Gee”. From reading up, this is how Lewis Carroll pronounced it, and even the Disney film used this pronunciation. 👍😄👍
I bought a deluxe edition off of someone on BGG, and I agree that it is stunning. I hope they eventually sell the chips in retail because they just really make the game special. But the retail version is also gorgeous!! Fantastic game!!
@@jamesmurray2690 oh, I just joined their discord. Sounds like a mini-expansion is coming via Kickstarter, too. I love this game, so I will definitely be purchasing that.
This seems a great game couldn't understand at first where the supporters came from then realised from the number on top of some of the cards. The Cheshire Cat makes an appearance too between 2:46:52 and 2:46:55 secs and magics a chip to Nikki where shes placing out chips which freaked me out. Love the Alice theme, not sure if I could get people to play this as quite complicated to explain but looks worth the try. Great chat and interplay again, and love the post postmortems too, we do that after playing too but ours probably make no sense at all.
@@realdruidcitygames great game James!!! I love watching you teach because you can tell there is so much passion behind your voice. It’s great. Enjoyed the game play too!
I haven’t heard that they are, but I definitely think they should. The minis are amazing in the deluxe version, but they aren’t really needed. But those chips… they are so cool. (As are the character-specific bags).
Daniel, this is next week's episode. We are on vacation and I uploaded 2 episodes while we are gone. RUclips weirdly made them unlisted even though they are scheduled to go live, one each Thursday. Since you visit our playlist you get to see them early 😃. Thanks for the note and for watching-Lincoln
Awesome vid. Thanks for the tutorial. I think the Jabberwock could have put a poison token out at the 1 hour 30 minute mark. Pretty sure the player's comment at 1 hour 34 minutes was him realizing it ("Ah, I should have done that..."). Made me giggle.
I have to ask though, Is Dave related to Isaiah Edwin Leopold, better known as Ed Wynn, who did the excellent voice work in Di$ney's version of "Alice in Wonderland, by chance? Wonderland War looks like an amazing game and I MUST get my hands on a copy, hehe. The gameplay and the PHENOMENAL art by Manny are beyond impressive!
This looks fun and amazing, but I see this all too often in Board Games. That board is absolutely stunning, but them cards, they are small the icons are small. All too often board games have these cards or icons that are small. Hardly anyone can read them, at the gaming table I play with we always have to get up or ask what's on a card. While the board is stunning, the cards could be made large with better font.
Even without the deluxe edition, this game is very pretty and nicely produced. Its worthwhile though to put the cardboard chips into coin cases though storing them becomes much more difficult. I have enjoyed playing this game every time I've pulled it out.
Alex we haven't had a chance to play with 2 but we would really love to try it. We really just want to play the game more! Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
I'd like to see more of what the Jabberwock can do. James has played the jabberwock in a couple of other playthroughs i've seen but never unlocked all of its power. I would love to see what more he can do he seems a real bad a$$ :D
I'm only an hour in, but this game seems overly convoluted. It feels like it started out as a basic strategy/area control game, but then 3-4 expansions were included, each of which added subsystems (elite units, special creatures, character powers, quests, etc.) that interact with each other to make a very complex final product.
Sébastien, it might seem that way but it really is smooth and fun. I really love the strategy of the battles and the faction build up. Super cool. I've played it quite a few times and look forward to playing it more. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln

The best artwork I’ve ever seen in a game 👍
Glad to see this on game night. I was skeptical about a bag builder but now it’s on my list!
They are doing another kickstarter next week...

This is by far one of my favorite games. I have the deluxe version. If the player boards were double layered it would be perfect.

What happened at 2:58:36? Lincoln and Dave shared some kind of twin moment ☺
Very good teach for what is a strikingly busy setup. 👍🏻
This video made me buy this game
This looks like a great game. I love bag building ever since Dice Masters.

It is worth watching this video, just to hear Dave sing “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” :)
P.S. looks like a fun game.
Had to watch your playthrough, we can't wait to play on tonight's live stream
I feel bad he made them all take an extra madness chip at the beginning. I’m surprised none of them noticed he flubbed that lol
Did James made a mistake at 1:01.48 by putting his chips back in the bag instead of exausting them?
I am Really looking forward to this one alot. Had hoped you would play it
Can you play Ark Nova? Please!
Dave - The condiment you're thinking of is mustard. No mustard. But lemon is different.
He also seemed to forget the rule about second place getting half the points of the area

Reasons I watch GN: 10% board games, 90% Beatles references. 😊
GD it! Another Game night video, and another game I have to add. Been watching since season one and I bet I have bought three games per season.
I have a proposition. I fly out and teach the squad Root! that would be so much fun.
That would be AMAZING!

Just kidding, it’s official that they are reprinting the deluxe chips in a Kickstarter launching in October :)
Yes, new campaign coming in October! And a mini expansion!

just a note - this video is Unlisted :) Would be good to be official tho.

Excited to get off work to watch this!
Can this game play with 2? I primarily play with 2 and wondering if this game works otherwise i’ll probably return it.

Twice Nikki busted and didn't repair her shield. Would have made this a different game.
I want to play a game with James! he is fun!
Lincoln has a habit of interrupting other players during End of Play Discussion, and then the other player doesn't get to finish their thoughts.
How does this game play at 2 players? Very interested in playing it but mostly play games at 2 players

Jabberwock is super weak :(
It's not worth watching this one. I can't tell what chips are revealed during that battle or what people are forging on their boards.
