Please brother, don't say this time is different. The volatility may be different and the timing could be +/- 3 months. But, Q4 is 1 month away and we have not gone ballistic yet! I can tell you this many of my peers and many of the generation younger are used to Banks holding our assets …need to to target the younger generation to avoid institutions gaining complete control over the space, friends and family I talk to always say, where can I get that and they don’t mean an exchange they mean a bank or a financial institution

This having is different. Past halving had not experienced the ETF before halving. Also, bitcoin parabola curve is almost reaching the plateau meaning the days of high volatility spikes are over plus before this halving near end cycle America is having a controversial election Trump and Harris and voters not quite trust that either candidate will do as they say if elected. “Read My Lips” to get elected and abort later promises. If there is a bitcoin spike it will be next year after elections, if any😂
Toby, you missed an opportunity to discuss why someone might want to allow a bank to custody bitcoin which would be to borrow against it. With enough bitcoin, a person could borrow some cash to purchase income producing assets, all while never actually selling their bitcoin in the hopes that after a major move upward, a small portion of the bitcoin could be sold off if necessary to pay off the loan. Ideally, the income producing assets would be used to pay back the loan, sparing the precious bitcoin. Of course you would have to believe the banks and US Government wouldn't pull the emergency banking act of 1933 all over again and confiscate the bitcoin.
lol, you put your BTC in a bank and they'll fractional reserve lend it out and your chances of getting it back when you want it will be a small round number. If you really want to borrow against your BTC, DeFi is the way to go.
If the price goes up for ever, people will use custodial services which eventually Will become super regulated. Nobody wants to be vulnerable to a a $5 dollar wrench atack. Some early adopters are now leaving 100% self custody, the amount they have Made them a target, forget taxes, gobernments, etc. There are Bad people out there. Even people like You are very vulnerable if You custody Your assets You could need a very well trained army to make sure You are not vulnerable to a personal atack.

You need to remember that many people take your words literally. You said: "I expect $100,000 plus in the next couple of months". I can tell you now with utmost confidence Bitcoin will not go to $100k by late November. You're looking at Q2-ish next year for the fireworks to start.
I wouldn't underestimate all the pitfalls around self custody. The longer I do it, the more risks and pitfalls I see. There is a reason why there are institutions like banks. And no, I am not saying to not self custody. More on the contrary. But it is not as easy as it seems and as I thought.
