- I was lucky enough to come accross a pair of these black mustang seats that would work perfectly for my truck without having to be reupholstered right away.

Rat crap Craig
Hey, that duct tape is gonna peel after a bit of use, my suggestion would be to get an old T-shirt to put over the top. Just to keep it from adhesive getting all over you and your clothing.
Have no idea why I did not think of that lol. Im definitely gunna do that until I actually upholster the seat thank you.
No problem bro
RL Racing Garage LoL
I was grew up in an a F100. They're special to me.
I’ve got a 78’ with red interior found some 1980 red button hook leather seats from a thunderbird with power adjustments
Just grabbed some near perfect 2011 Ford Fusion leather power seats for the F100. 35 bucks each from Pull-a-Part. Can't wait to convert!
looks good 🇺🇸
Oven cleaner is a caustic, not acidic, but it is a good cleaner.
Late 80s jeep Wrangler for your seat belts with built in support
71 f100 sport custom factory buckets 460 4 speed with a.c. and heat, been told it's rare doing crown Vic rear end rear end swap with four link coil overs and either 4.6 mustang gt motor or 351clevelend
I like using more modern seats with power and heat. Got a set from a 2010 Malibu ltz for my 64 chevelle. Mint condition power heat leather $150 was a deal. A lot of foreign cars have really nice seats also just walk through the yard seeing which ones fit your ass the best.
the duct tape looks better than i expected hahahaha. if it was me i'd just leave it for now. i also made a denny's run today and fuck with dennys heavy
65°F is "winter". Up here in Northern Michigan, that means Beach weather hahah
👍👍👍👍
Now your sitting against a bare gas tank though- is there some sort of body panel, like a door panel that covers it? Trucks bad ass by the way...
Craig those seats that you have are out of a 68 Mustang. an easy way to tell is that chrome lever on the out side of the seats. 1967 Mustangs did not have that. the seat upholstery for 1968 is to big for a 1967 seat. the 68 seat is back is larger to make room for the lever assembly. don,t ask me how i know about this.
I know...
Thank you for the info. I was unaware if it was 67 or 68 so thank you for the info, mucha appreciated.
Thecraig909 no problemo.
Those are nice seats good job
Thank you.
Huh yas queen thanks for the tips sister supported
I have a Mexican blanket over my 60 F100's roached JY special 91 F150 bench I scored for 20$ and the blanky was $Free.99
Safety 3rd kids
After coolness and noise!
All u need now is some sort of center console
Love the truck, putting buckets in it was a good thing! Did the same in my 68 Ford beat thing I ever did 👍🏻
Good choice going w the Mustang seats n truck brackets. Mustang upholstery will be avail forever. 68 the perfect choice on year model for this application .. you're threading the needle.
We are going to do new seat material on our bench seat, just with racing harnesses :D
Nice i always feel better when everything fits rock on.
no center console! It's where the bee....taurine drinks go.
And if she realy love you, she'll sit on the chest while your 130 lb,12yr old GSD hangs out the window
Ebay has seat covers as cheap as $8 bucks a seat but, a decent cheap set of new vinyl is about $70 bucks. $20 bucks will get you some fabric covers that fit over the seats. nice pickup.
Definitely going that route, thanks!
I like the bucket seats man they look good in the truck.
Hey if it’s so hard to find these brackets ? Why don’t you look into remanufacturing them?
Noooo💔😭😭😭😢
you can buy exact reproduction bucket seat brackets, the PDF files are on Fordification, I used to offer them for sale. my buddy Kevin Stone makes and sells them now 65-66 brackets are different from 67-72. one inch difference in seat location. enjoy the build!
Will do, thanks for the info!
what happened to the buckets from the other truck you bought? didn't you buy that truck for those seats.
your the best
its mint! just like factory. and it looks so comfortable, hope it is!
Great video Craig
Thanks man.
Nice!!!! The seats look great can't wait to see the finished product . You're doing a good job and most importantly you're doing it with love that's why Everytime I see one of your videos I feel like going and working on my truck , a 95 short bed 5.0. good video.
Awesome job, those seat brackets sure made life easy!
What are the brackets out of? Do they have them new? Id love to put a set of early mustang buckets in my 74
Good install. Seats look good in the cab. Now need to build a platform between seats to hold beer cooler.
You can get new seat covers from CJ pony parts and other mustang supply places or order directly from TMI. Very easy to refoam and recover yourself. Tmiproducts.com has some really nice foam and upolstery upgrades that will add bolstering to help keep you on the seat while cornering.
Definitely! Thanks for the info i'll take a look it is greatly appreciated.
I'm actually gonna do the opposite and put a bench in my truck instead of buckets lol but those seats are still nice as hell
Moola Moose do you want to sell your brackets ???
Bench seats are wack
Looks great, I've been waiting for this
I did something similar to this, I put 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee bucket seats in my 1988 Dodge D100 Single Cab with factory bucket seats, and I can't complain lol
where did you get your dashboard pad and headlights?
Dude I almost thought you spray primed those brackets in the rocks 😐🤔😎 hahahah its degreaser, you got me!!😆
I thought that was just me😂
Didn't even think about that haha. Yeah it defiinitely looks like I did lol
Those seats look pretty good, ive got some seats from my 1963 corvair that ive been needing to work on theyre in about the shape as those but alot stiffer
Yea you gotta let the absorb some oils and softeners as well as the hot sun or a heat gun. It's a tedious process
@@Thecraig909 yeah problem with that is here in ky its cold and wet atm
Where did you buy the gas thank?
This is just my opinion but I like the look of bench seats better
Those are badass seats
LMC has replacement seat belts for a good price. They have 3 point too if you wanna upgrade to that. I believe with the 3-point you wouldn't have to worry about your belt laying on the floorboard
You can get the exact replacement seat cover for that seat mustang interior easy enough
definitely going that route thanks.
@@Thecraig909 Check ebay I bought a complete seat cover interior set a few years ago for an 87 acura Legend that has leather cancer, matched everything perfectly with patience,
Cover the ductape with a saddle back seat cover. Since your doing the patina old rugged style those will add to it nicely.
When’s the center console build coming
Nice seats.
60 degrees and its winter. It is 34 with a wind chill of 24 here and that is a warm winter day here.
Prayin for ya man
Do you know of any good products and methods of getting rid of oil stains on pavement?
Yes go to O'reilly's and look for purple power driveway cleaner. Its super acidic. You spray it and scrub it a bit then wash it all off.
You should get sound deadening material and a rubber floor mat at LMC truck.
LMC offers chinese stuff,o NOT buy their cab supports or floorpans.
The floor pans from lmc are no different than the ones from rockauto.
Search around online, you can find better versions of the same product for better prices.
i'll be doing that with most likely a carpet kit.
I like how you get all excited when you finish a little project. I love that feeling when you finish something on the truck and it turned out better than you expected or went together easier than you thought. Cool videos man
The seat cleaning makes me wanna work on and clean the interrior of my 72 bronco lmao Nice vid
Get it man! It's worth the work.
Installed 65 mustang bucket seats in my 68 f250 highboy had to fab my brackets though.
u could try your skillz of cutting the floor out & lowering it way down ( or try on an old cab similar to your's -- or take it to a body person & have them do it all professinally like.. & all done right too then & no more worry's then ).... so your tall self can sit very comfy in your own rig at any stop light any where........
I'm tellin' ya, invest in some dust masks.
Hey watch MotionAutoTV, he uses Scrubbing Bubbles cleaner in an aerosol can to revive/clean leather seats in his truck. It worked so well, and it’s worth a look.
Thanks i'll check it out!
Good on ya , my 79 Ranger XLT same thing bench it too high I can’t wear cowboy hat as my head is way to close to the roof ....
Nice job, black factory buckets/ Perhaps the only thing I might have done a little differently would have been to put some duct tape adhesive side out behind the areas with holes in before putting the outside layer on. As you've done it the adhesive will stick to the foam and may pull it apart leaving you to have to source new seat back foam when you have it re-trimmed. Robert Spray's idea is also a good one as the adhesive on duct tape can be pretty aggressive and when it starts to peel it can easily pull threads or stretch any clothes you're wearing that stick to it. It can also stain some types of fabrics and finishes...
Thanks for the info, Im planning to go back and fix it up little bit more. A few people said to slide a shirt over it and I think thats what ill do. Then I wont have to worry about the adhessive. Thanks again, much appreciated.
She was the same color as my 70 f100 2x4 that I made 4x4 beautiful truck I miss mine like you would not know
Craig I also struggle to see stop lights in my 68 f100 I’m 18 and 6”3 I kinda slide down the seat a bit but trust buckets and chopped brackets are coming soon
Yeah the buckets helped a lot.
you can buy the covers and foam from ebay or a mustang parts depot, they are 68 seats
I woulda left the bench seat I LOVE bench seats
Try the seat shop.com motion auto TV used them to replace the foam and seat covers in his ford truck
Will do!
In the heat the duct tape adhesive is going to leak thru and stick to you
I have a 1997 f250 heavy duty, and my trans is all covered in oil that has kind of crystallized on it, what is the best way to get it off so I can fined the leak
Scrape of big chunks with a putty knife and hose it down with brake clean. Use a wire brush on the douche it a second time with brake clean. Wipe down with shop rags or heavy duty paper towels. Spray it one more time with brake clean and let it evaporate. Wear goggles and a respirator...dont want that shit in your eyes or your lungs.
Farmer Jim thanks bro
This is Larry Normwhat can I use on my seats that are safe that I could clean it with and and protective seat so don't crack or anytingthis is very dark from Iowa please give me a message back on that appreciate it thank you
Looks sick dude! Keep it up
You should get a full size Bronco console it should fit and give you cupholders and storage.
was thinking about it.
Ever thought about doing bed liner for your inside can floor? That would be way durable and will keep things rust free...but you definitely need to paint the inside of the cab like black...keep it a modern color
Never bedliner,lizard skin.bedlineer outgasses.stinks.ask me how I know.
Just gunna keep it clean with carpet.
Thecraig909 but at least paint the inside of the cab black the rust look isn’t that great
And just my two cents , you could always take a console out of an old Blazer, (they reproduce them on Lmc) and stick it between the seats
I have the same problem I’m 6’3 and I drive a 98 ford ranger and I’m gonna have to get some lower bucket seats
Hey what shifter is that you're using? I know it's probably a hurst, but got a part number or anything?
Look at an 88 bronco for your seat belt buckles. They have a built in support so they won’t just be laying in the floor
Put a Piece of Metal between the seats and tank for some protection just a suggestion
I personally like the bucket seats. I would to this with my trucks. I'm curious if other brands had the options for buckets
PROCAR FROM SUMMIT
My 75 j10 has some old mustang seats like that
screw that in that in the cab gas tank......it wont handle a side impact........
r ya going to find or build your own cool center console for your ford rig.........????????????
yes sir.
What are your other interior plans? Center console? Floor mat or carpet? Stereo?
Nice
Looks good and keep up the good vids
It looks BadAss bro 16:15
Where did you get your wheels?
They're the stock one powder coated black.
So why didn’t you go with a t56? And instead a 5 speed? I’m thinking about to put a manual into my mustang
So I actually got this transmission used off of Craigslist for $1300 with a scattersheild, trans, clutch, hardware, and more but I only used the trans. This is a Tremec 3550 which is basically a Tko before it came out. Its not the nicest trans but its still over $2500 new. So I went with it because it was the nicest cheapest thing I could find. A T56 is over $3000 for the trans alone and I just couldn't afford it.
Thecraig909 that’s true I’m in the same boat
Nice mod!
Should bed liner the floor to clean the interior up a bit.
What about the shifter you were saving for the bucket swap!?!?
Coming soon!
Hey I know!!!!! Get Mommy to buy you seat covers
No updates on the frame with the crown vic setup
Haven't had time. Im going to try and finish the front end this week.
nice seats dude great choice, is it the ones that came out of a boat, i think you said in a earlier video?
ohh you said mustang nvm haha!
Just saying because my aunt & her husband died from it. In 2001 they where cleaning out an old house that was filled with the crap, they where in there for 2 weeks cleaning out the house and by the end of the year they where dead from breathing in all the poop inside the house 😐it sucks big time so he careful bud!!!!!!!!!
Thank you I will.
Now wait a minute...Black 200 mph tape was def the right choice.
Where would you find the brackets to do the swap ?
www.copperstatecomponents.com/bucket_seat_brackets.html
thats the same bracket. I just have an original one.
Kinda makes me want to put bucket seats in my 78 k20
Next video could be a DIY console.
