We look at advantages that the '94 F-150 XLT seat has over a stock '67-'72 seat. We show how-to install the F 150 seat in the F 100. We do a te3st fit into the 1972 F100.

this is one of my most favorite videos you guys did where you show people that the newer seats can fit in the older trucks and how to do that, I can dig it.

I did this to my 71 F100 and it came out nicely. Initially I wanted to stay with the original bench seat but mine was just too springy, I thought I was going to hit the roof one time on a rough rail crossing, lol. The armrest was a big deal as well, I had one that sat on the bench but it moved around a lot but it did have storage so that was a plus. All in all this is a great change and I kept my original bench if it is ever needed.

Yep, it will work I did exactly what u did to your truck mostly for the arm rest and the cup holder that 92-96 has. Love to incorporate new Ford into the old Ford stuff. Good video, two thumbs up

i have the exact same seat in my 67 f-100. it came out of a mid 90,s Ford Van . it was the third row seat same color . i used Tuff-Stuff to clean it with a stiff bristle brush. i then used gray and black Dupilcolor spray dye to give it a tow tone look.

Those Bissell pet/carpet cleaners would make that seat look like new. I was able to get a stain I thought would never come out. My carpet looks new.
I just picked up a '73 F100. I like the headsets on the later seat for safety reasons.

I did this 20 yrs ago and used a new 97 seat out of a F150. I walked into a shop that did aftermarket upgrades for dealerships at the time. There were dozens of seats in storage and they had little interest in how to repurpose them. I took it off their hands for $100. I didn't modify the the mounting brackets, they matched in the rear and in the front, I bent a piece of 1/4" flat stock and mounted the front to the correct height.

I disagree , the original bench seat for me is the ultimate iconic classic for any pre 80’s truck ! However great informative content

Man! It looks like it's cramped in there with that newer seat. These trucks are tiny compared to today's F series.
I just started restoring my Dad's 70 F100. I think I'm going to get the original recovered.
Thanks for the video and showing us some options...

No worries. It is actually not that bad. I DO think that the seat sits higher. BUT it is also more comfortable.

@@AutoRestoMod I just put a seat from an 87 F150 Lariat in my 70 F100. Same process as this. With that seat, I GAINED 3" of leg room and 2" of head room over the stock seat, due to the way the 87 seat and back are both concaved. It is super comfortable too. It also had armrest with cupholder integrated, but the cup holder is only 1" deep, so it's usefulness is limited to a place to set your cup while you eat at Sonic.

Would this work with a 40/20/40 seat from that era? I had a 1995 F-150 with one of those and, as I remember, the individual seats were mounted to a pan/frame that was bolted to the truck floor. That was a comfortable seat!

Honestly not sure. But judging by a couple of posts I've seen on some C10 forums, you should be able to bolt a late 80s to early mid 90s seat into a 77. Not saying you can, just that someone made it work.

    • @AutoRestoMod

I think you can use anything with enough time and money. But the bolt in solution is the seats up to 1996 in the F250 and 1995 in the F150.

Seats are what you make them. We have sat in both. and prefer the ride of the F150 seat here. Most of the time we stay stock. But the offer of a cushy arm rest and lumbar....well...it just wins out.

They were funny. They would keep things like door handles around for ages...then change bell housing bolt patterns, tie rods, brake lines, balancers, and firing orders.
