I have seen so many really horrible Fails, but just only in this Video I have seen such a pretty result without loosing the Hair and getting nice Colors at the End. It seems like they put in a ton of research but just missed a couple of pieces of information. The way they were talking about their plan for the hair dye really showed how much work beforehand they put in. For a first dye job they really did an excellent job! Practice makes perfect. The fact they blocked out a ton of time and didn't rush was fantastic. Their relationship with each other in the video is adorable as well
Never heard of this technique of mixing a direct dye with developer. Normally arctic fox doesn’t have to be mixed with any developer, maybe that’s why there is no ratio on it. I really love your videos!!!
Arctic fox hair color is semi permanent color. It is not intended for use with developer at all. That's why theres no ratio. It also is a deep conditioner. Normally, you can leave it on as long as you like. I think the developer just diluted the color because the purple and blue should have been much darker.

Funny thing happened when I went to Holland last year, we were on a railway station waiting for a train, and suddenly I realised I understood the announcements! When I didn´t try too hard, I just casually listened and understood what the lady was saying, even though I do not speak Dutch (but I speak Swedish and some German) :)

They should have blended the colors more, and colored the roots as well. But kudos to them for trying to do it as carefully as possible. It's a nice change from the usual reckless jobs.
I cut and color my own hair most of the time and as long as you’re happy with it, then that’s awesome. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it the find a hairdresser you trust and stick with them!
Hubby seems to enjoy getting artsy with his wife's hair. I can understand that because if I look at various color melt hair pics on Pinterest it makes me want to try it out, but not on my own hair. He is really trying to do it well, too.

I love Arctic Fox. It is my favorite out of all the semi-permanent colors I have tried. I have Poseidon in my hair right now actually. Apply directly though, don't mix it with developer.

I have questions, how much time the pigments of a dye stay into the hair? Do they fade completely in six or Seven Years? If they don't, do you think that using 10 vol developer would help to get rid of them completely? So the Holy Grail is finding a husband who has the skill, the intelligence and the patience to do this with you, or for you. My hubby bless his heart is no longer with me but he was a barber end was able to cut my son's hair and trim my bangs. I had very long hair and you were here styles were becoming much more complicated so we decided it was best if I went to someone newly trained. Now that I look back I think I would have been better off to have him do it. I got some pretty crappy haircuts.
My friend in Canada had the Mermaid done and it took almost three weeks to do it properly. Her colors looked green, blue, and pink. It's stunning if done correctly.

I have mermaid hair at moment. But with reversed colours. Turquoise-blue at the roots and pink-purple at the ends. But with an asymmetric bob 😄... here I'm an attraction with such coloured hair..but I have to do it by myself. Nobody here has these colours on stock or experience with this technique. 😭😭😭😂😂😅
I wouldn't call this a hair fail, just a hair dye misunderstanding! I think with researching the problems and implementing what they find, they'll have a really nice result if they try it again.

I’m assuming the issue is that he used the developer. Manic Panic is a direct dye and the developer just diluted it. It isn’t an oxidative dye so the developer doesn’t help it process.
Actually that’s not on Fox Hair Color. It’s a Deposit only. I’m confused how developer alone works? It has nothing chemically to activate it? I’m interested in this.
I would also love to know that and get an. answer from a Professional. I kind of think it makes the dye stay in longer (because the Developer, as I unterstand it opens up the hair cuticuls so the color gets into the hair) and hair color like arctic fox usually the pigments only lie on top of the hair and don't get into the hair. Basically using developer and color (or bleach) is a chemical process, semi permanent hair dye works physically (hope that helped)
That's so sweet. He just needs a little lesson on application. I dont mind her regrowth wasn't coloured... But the purple would have been nicer pulled down more and tips with the blue. They seemed to have loved the whole experience regardless. Gratitude is rare these days

Arctic fox is not a permanent color. It doesnt need a developer... LOL Its basicaly just a conditioner with pigment
There is no mixing ratio on the packaging of arctic fox because it's not meant to be used with a developer. XD

Yes! I use it and leave it on for 2 hours or more and no developer!

Every time I’ve used a direct dye and it touches anything with developer like a shadow root the colors oxidized and went wonky.

Should have done more purple on top, like the whole top, since the two blues blended too much into a similar color.
