    My older colleague was a hero in the Normandy too. He was paratrooper and fought for the Germans! He was one of the nicest guys.

    There were more black men than just the Americas, Britain and France has massive colonies and there were other colonies like the Dutch, these colonies spread across Africa and Asia, when countries joined the war so did their colonies.
    So Britain had Indians, Kenyains, Palestinians, all sorts of different people across the British empire fighting for Britain. And France also had many, many colonies fighting for France.

    So what? Black guys landed with everybody else. Why is this so remarkable? All who landed were brave men who played their part.
