Really love how you're clear right off the bat about how these are basically monitors. I can imagine a newbie trying to decide what's best for them, or an artist's parents/grandparents/other relative/friend/partner/child looking to gift one of these things, and being super confused by all the options. Your clarity will really help people find what they're looking for.
"young person" An old person could make the same mistake.
@@Layarion Fair, if a bit pedantic. I'll go edit it.
I just got myself a XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro 🙌 and it’s so nice
@@4Sell no cons lol
This dude is getting younger and younger damn
When doing pen tests, you should turn off all pressure sensitivity settings on the brush itself, as it can give the illusion of "waves" or "unnatural tapers"
You've missed the best thing that ever existed in your content - "The Glove Dance"
@Archangel 88大天使 NO DANCE!
The thug shake🤓
Brad: I dont do the glove dance anymore
Also Brad: GLOVE DANCE GO BRRRR
I said the same thing on twitter to him..funny ways though he laughed too no offense
Glove dance?
2 questions:
- Have the drivers improved in stability and features?
- does the screen support touch controls?
They have not improved the drivers. They actually made them worse somehow
It's now pretty good : D they updated the look and everything, it's a lot more intuitive than the last one
Hey Brad, so I've been looking at getting a new iPad for a while as my last one broke a couple of years ago. Watching your videos, along with a few other peoples, has made me want to get back into drawing/design. I ordered my iPad yesterday along with a Pencil and hope to get stuck into a good artsy project. Thanks!
YES!! I've been waiting for more reviews before buying one
Awesome review as always..!!! I like the way he explains the pros and cons..!!!!
Hey Brad Colbow, the Artist 22 (2nd Generation) does NOT have a laminated display! Check your product before you review it!
I was going to buy one based off your review, but luckily, I noticed the specs did not mention a laminated display, and I then checked with XP-Pen, who confirmed that it is NOT laminated. It has a matte plastic film over the screen! (which is replaceable if you can imagine how easy it is to put a 22 inch screen protector on without getting dust or air bubbles under it!)
This helped a lot as I just brought this on Amazon. Thanks for the review!
Hey! I'm really considering getting this tablet as my first. Wondering how you like it so far?
Im just to the place where I am seriously looking for something like this. Great info, as always!
Once again another video by the one the only BRAD COLBOW!
Thnx for this nice reviewwww Mr brad 💕
Love your reviews. Watched them all when deciding which one I wanted, and in the end went with a Huion Kamvas. I've got it on a monitor arm that lets my bring it right down to my lap so I can sit back and draw while watching RUclips.
How’s it been working so far
@@TrappedInTheSauce It works great! I've never used a Wacom so I can't compare it to the top of the line stuff. I don't mind there aren't shortkey buttons because I can reach my keyboard just fine. I had some trouble setting it up but it wasn't the tablet's fault it was windows 10 being weird trying to connect a 3rd monitor. I love it. To be 100% honest though, I like drawing on my iPad more and almost wish I'd put the money to a new, bigger screen iPad instead.
XP-pen and Huion becoming a solid competition to Wacom, with better prices is one of the best things that happened in the drawing world in recent years.
Only thing I wish for now is a solid competition to Photoshop. So far, only Artstudio Pro has come close and that's iPad only.
We have krita? Its good?
@@aquaregia9029 it is good, but not as good as Photoshop. But I admit that as a professional illustrator my demands on an app are a bit high.
@@youshimimi you are right Im new so I dont need anything fancy yet.
Meh, Clip Studio is better for everything except lack of Liquify and adding final touches/filters.
Affinty Photo or Adobe Fresco
Nice video Brad. I love large display tablets, but I still want portability. This is a difficult one.
This was very helpful, thank you
Thank you (again) I have to keep an eye on this
I just want to say, youre a very cool dude, keep doing what you do man, and have a good day!
I was waiting for this cause i entered a giveaway without knowing the product detail :)
There was a giveaway!
@@joshuaconnell3167 ?
Daffa said there was a giveaway he entered it without knowing any deets
@@joshuaconnell3167 i guess a Brad video was just nicer to watch than to read or another video
Giveaway? Where, I MUST KNOW, IM TOO BROKE D:
Imma check it out
Question: If I have the Galaxy S6 Lite and have a screen-less wacom tablet, would it make sense to upgrade to a pen display? I already have a beefy computer so it should run well but I wonder if it's pointless or not. I like the ergonomics of a screen-less tablet but drawing on the galaxy is a lot of fun too
I have the previous version of this which as been a pretty good tablet. Besides the matte finish and laminated screen, I was wondering what other differences there are in this version.
I was hoping they would’ve fixed the odd tapering at the end of the lines. It’s the one thing that kinda drives me crazy.
**Update:** I got the 2nd Gen 2 years ago and it just completely died after the warranty ended. I tried contacting XP-pen and I'll just say... their customer service is not helpful! I'm looking in to Huion.
So my grandma is about to order a 15.6 inches but since I saw the price is close with 22 pro I suggested it to her. She doesn’t see my message yet but I hope she agrees but if she doesn’t 15.6 is still good tablet especially the buttons and the pen
EDIT: She agreed❤️😭
im getting this exact model and cant wait lol
Thanks for all the work on your reviews! how does this compare to the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus?
I’m interested in finding the right XP-Pen tablet for me that will work with newer MacBooks, which only have USB-C ports. This tablet seems decent but I don’t think I can accept that it doesn’t have shortcut keys. I prefer something with shortcut keys because they’re convenient and I’m used to working with them.
Please tell me if i should go for the latest huion kamvas plus 22 or this! Good lord the decisions are endless XD
PS you should also test the tilt, Brad :/ There were some weird breaks in someone else's review while using tilt, your perspective woulda been nice
which one you would choose between 16 vs 22 pro and 22r pro ?
Pros of having a large screen
Lets see...
Number 1) It's large
hahaha pun
Agree
I love brad
Brad what do you recommend. ipad 8th gen with apple pencil or tab s6 lite, I have enough money to buy both. Which is more value for money
This explains so much... so, I am going to guess Huion and XP-Pen share manufacturers. This looks just like the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus (which I have). There was small drama in my purchasing (multiple defective models before getting the one I have and am super happy with presently.) My defect model 2 - had THIS unit's base feet instead of Huion's! At the time, I had found another different defect... but, this was a second defect on that model I am guessing (the housing was different.) These units look practically identical, I am super curious... if they are performance wise. Love the Huion but, when I purchased if this model existed I would have had a tough time choosing between the two. (Though I think the Huion would have still been my choice due to the etched glass display... and even stronger color range.)
Really good ideas
How did you get the colors to be so nice?
When I got mine it was too red, and no matter what setting I couldn't get it accurate like yours.
When you are drawing with the ruler while the ruler is straight your hand is still moving up and down (perpendicular to the ruler). Given these pens have tilt sensitivity isnt that where the "imperfections" are coming from?
Great video. Is that the HP Envy 15?
Thanks
I want to buy a graphic tablet of up to $ 400, what do you advise me ?
I hope to buy Wacom One Display, what do you think of it ?
Hello Mr.Brad do you apply a screen protector on your ipad or any other Touch device before drawing on it with a stylus. Just want to know if it can get any scratch.
Hey Brad, can you review the new Huion inspiroy keydial? It looks really useful with the mini keyboard, if only they had a version for lefties 😔
How is the initial activation force? Is it on par with Wacom? Better than on the Innovator 16?
can you use it with the m1 mac mini directly? without setting it up with another screen?
I notice you had this connected to an HP laptop. Can you do a review of that laptop for an artist?
Ok pen display device test on m1 mac mini or macbook ? :)
Hey brad have you tried those rubber tips that go over the nib of the Apple Pencil? Are they any good?
Does it also have a touch screen, so you can zoom with your fingers?
I find the lack of glove dance disturbing... LUL Great review!
How about a review on that sweet computer desk you have.
I’m hoping the next pro tablets have 1440p screens. Most of the pro features are now standard
Do i understand it correct that the 2nd Gen. is now Glass and not a IPS Display?
Question:
Can you do a review on the new asus x13 flow?
13HD still going strong 💪🏾
I was looking at getting a pen display like yesterday or buying the Apple Pencil/Wacom/Logitech crayon thank you so much your videos are helping figure out what to get(I’m like 13 so I don’t wanna spend to much)
Need it to be in computer or tablet can be seperate? Please answer
Hi mate . What drawing software did you use during this video?
When will part 4 beginner art video will come out
what is the cheapest pen display?
I've been using a 16" (Huion Pro) for over a year now and it's 1920x1080 (HD). I honestly can't imagine going to a larger screen at that resolution. Just my 2 Cents
Stick to what you like.
Q: at 5:32 you draw a circle and the line breaks. This is happening on my Deco Pro as well. Is this an issue with XPPen the brand, or an issue with all brands of tablets?
Hi Brad! Your review are so refreshing and fun to watch. It is painfully to watch other RUclipsrs trying to be funny on their presentation but it doesn’t work at all. You inspire confidence on critics. I come from traditional artworks and making the transition to digital is a little overwhelming at first because I’m old school. I’ll like to share my work with you if you don’t mind, to get your feedback on how to translate it into digital work.
I’ll send it to your email. Any suggestions to an old fart like me will be highly appreciated. Keep up the good work. I wish you all the best.
Freddie Rosa
I love the glove dance! Some brake dancing moves with your arms will work!!!
Can it be seperate from computer? So u dont need computer to work on it?
should i buy this or the kamvas 16 2021 please help
Sir, Is xp pen deco1 V2 worth buying please suggest 🙏
Brad, have you ever heard of the Monoprice 22 Creator? It's a real budget-friendly pen display that I just learned about today. I was hoping to find a review by you on this particular device but there is not one. Could you do one and give your honest estimate based on your typical review process. The few reviews I can find are not as thorough as yours. Again, it's called the Monoprice Creator 22. Thanks.
This looks really good, but are you sure it's a laminated screen? I can't find any information on any of the specs that says so. Even on Amazon when people ask about it, you get this really copy and pasted response from XP-Pen that doesn't actually answer if it is or not lol. From what i'm seeing it doesn't look like even if it's NOT laminated that there's really any noticeable gap. Also i agree that they need to at LEAST bump up the resolution on all 20+ inch models to 1440p minimum. 1080p is perfect for smaller screens in the 16 inch and lower tablets, but 20 and up it's just too noticeable since you're going to be really close to the screen, unlike if it was just a normal computer monitor that sits farther from your eyes. It's not a deal breaker by any means, just something i feel they need to standardize.
this screen vs innovator 16? besides size, is there another difference? as in color RGB or pen tilt?
How does it compare to first generation?
What is better hii on or xp pen?
where do you get your music brad?
Hi I want you to please also make some review in budget like XP pen Deco v1 2020 vs HUION HS611
Cause it's really helpful for beginners to choose the right product
Ya it would have been great
how does this compare to the huion 22 plus?
may i know how many your collection tablet you have at home?
2:32 He meant 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity.
The line is almost straight!!!! Miracles happens!
hey brad, a humble request if you put timestamps in video description please. Thank you.
Great review as always! Out of curiosity, would you prefer this over the Kamvas 22 Plus?
Same question!
Kamvas 22 plus 100%, better colour gamut, better lamination, etched glass, more streamlined design (no weird chunks in the back, less boxy corners, less cheap looking stand)
shouldnt the straight edge test be done with a brush that isnt using pressure sensitivity? the difference in the line thickness may make the wobbles more apparent/new wobbles show ?
We all know Brad can draw a never-ending line on that screen without once deviating from Pressure Level 2318. Easy. 😋
How do you connect it to a pc/monitor?
I wonder how it compares to huion one. They look pretty similiar.
PS. Wacom really needs to step up their game.
Hey Brad! can you try out the Teclast M40? it's an android tablet with a pen and is very cheap!
You didn't perform the golve dance... I love it... Please don't stop doing it...
Brad question,
Out of your vast collection of drawing tablets which one do you actively use?
No response yet :( I also want to know
Nice how you introduce yourself now.
Does anyone know if the 2nd gen stylus is compatible with the 1st gen display tablet?
this is really good for the price
how does it compares to huion?
Which HP laptop are you using? (The one which we see at the beginning)
So, how does this really compare withe the Artist 22E Pro with the exception of the express keys? What’s good about this drawing tablet sacrificing the express keys with the 22E?
I would like to know this too!!!
Does it work on a chromebook?
What paint software is the best one to use please
brad will you review the lenovo p11 pro?
Compare the 22E, 22R and this one.
Where was the glove-Dance
Actually there are 2 types of wave
The first one is at the stroke
And the second one is at the pressure
I don't know somehow I actually need the one that actually has the battery has anybody actually had that problem when you can't even feel like you're actually riding on anything with your pin because it's so damn light or it's just me
What do you recommend, 2nd gen or not 2nd gen. Trying to decide what to get in next few hours.
Me too!
Just as I searched this you uploaded lol
nice
Btw "Brad's art school" is you right? same voice.
