Hey, I wanna encourage you to never say never. I don't know your situation, but if you really want one, you can do what's necessary to get one. Save, do side jobs, sacrifice for a little bit until you get the money you need for one. Then use that tablet to your heart's content. Stay positive and persevere. I worked at McDonalds for 3 months until I had enough money put away. Now I’m an adult and Male better money and buy a bunch of tablets, for different types of work and play. So my situation right now doesn’t apply. But aren’t there side jobs for 15 year olds anymore?

I preordered this in the beginning of June, it showed up about a week later a few days before the official release date. I love it, it works perfectly with my 27" iMac as the screen resolution is 2.5k/1440p (exactly half the 5k resolution of the iMac). I had issues before with my 1080p Huion Kamvas Pro 20 when dragging apps back and forth because of the resolution differences. Performance is fantastic, have had zero issues with it so far. I love the fact that i only need the one USB C cord to connect it to my iMac instead of having to use an HDMI and a USB cable. I can put references up on my iMac screen and use the XP-Pen as my primary display or used either to watch a movie while surfing the web. I do miss the etched glass a bit from the Huion, but it just took a little time to get used to the screen protector on the XP-Pen. The Huion Kamvas Pro 24 is supposed to be identical with an etched glass screen, but at the time there was a considerable discount from XP-Pen for preorder and I didn't feel like paying an extra $250 just to get the Huion with the etched glass. That and XP-Pen has much better support for their products than Huion in my experience.
I bought this bad boy! Got it in last week. After watching your reviews and building my own site (your squarespace code a bit ago), I thought it was a great opportunity to make a review of my own. You mentioned how heavy the product is. My luck, I almost dropped the box getting it out. Then I set it up and turn around and must of knocked my desk because it tumbled off. So not even out of the plastic, it got a notch on it. Some people aren't made for reviews like you are, Brad. Lol I'll stick to watching and just drawing. In the end, a very nice product. I get the occasional dot but my issue is the lag after I hit the 'ctrl+z" button too fast or too many times. It lags by the input of anything I did does not show until 5 seconds later. Maybe it's a system error but I'll look into it more later. That's my only big issue. Only other problem: obsession over the red wheel and the compulsion to spin it at all times
I'll get mine in a couple of day, nice input. Quick question though... Are you using a PC or Laptop? And how powerful is it? Because in my experience lag in display can be attributed by the lack processing power of the device you're using...

It had some good power to it but your question is the same as mine. I do have a PC but my husband's been using it since it performs better than his. I will have to hook it up and run Photoshop on it. Sorry that it has been awhile! Have you been using your XP pen? how do you like it? In reference to the lag; I have fixed it! So I did switch the XP pen to my gaming PC and it worked flawlessly. So it MUST be a computer system error? Nope! The difference between my computer how they react to window's ink! I had to disable it on my touch screen laptop because apparently Photoshop relies on Window's ink. On some computers that can cause problems. I found out this is an issue with some drawing tablets ie. Wacom. So I had to go to another youtuber's video and do a 'hack'. As in, create a note in notepad and drop it into Photoshop. Since then, My XP pen has worked flawlessly! So I've enjoyed it and absolutely love it! Plus it is a great monitor too when i'm not drawing.
@@ent7920 how are you plugging it in? i had to plug an HDMI cable and the USB-C cable into my drawing tablet or it would not work. this was because my laptop does not have the newer USB-C Thunderbolt ports. it has the older USB-C 3.1 gen 1 ports
I just received mine last week. I'm really liking it. I had an old Cintiq that I couldn't get working on my new machine so I decided to give it a go. The QHD resolution is really nice.
Is this version working with win10 without any disconnection issue? I used artist 22E for a while, but it had disconnection issue in windows 10 all the time. So, I kicked out mine several month ago and bought a new wacom pro 24. It is 1000 percents much better than artis 22E. No more pain with disconnection issue and horrible cheap scrachable screen film. Hope this version is not like that.

When it comes to line quality and jitter Huion wins. I had them both and as many people claim it's not "a big deal" to me personally it is a big deal and when you want comparable line quality to Wacom (or even in some cases superior) Huion is the way to go. XP Pen has the wheel as a clear advantage but tbh I didn't find myself using it as much as I thought I would. Huion usually offers more angles too and in case you do scratch the matte coating, you can actually get a new one and replace it. I didn't hear Brad mentioning whether XP Pen offers the same.
Thanks for the review. I think the most important keyframe that most reviewers are missing to inform to public for this tipe of devices is if it worth "the jump" from a regular non screen tablet, lets say a Bamboo or an Intuos to this screen type tablet, does it really feel different, will it have a hughe learning curve as it did to Jump from paper to digital? Those are questions that will help semi professional to make their choice, cause I think thats the target of this products. Thanks a lot for your advice

I have to say that I came from a 16” cintiq to this and it’s amazing. It’s fing MASSIVE like you said. I literally stood there wondering where to put it on my desk. The only things that I don’t like is the screen is a little slick, and the driver didn’t want to work right away. I had to install it several times and then it worked just fine. I just couldn’t justify the price of the Wacom even when I couldn’t actually get anything from Xp pen for a while. They were out of stock for a long time with the 22r.

@@islahfatin after almost a year and a half the xp pen 24 has been great. After the initial setup issues I've never had a problem with it. I've put mine on a Vesa desk mount now and it runs everyday after work. I'm using sketchbook, photoshop, Kirita, and Blender with it and no issues.

How sturdy is the pen? I've had 2 huion pad tablets with a pen issue where it would draw in the hover zone. The first one came that way and the 2nd both pens I had rolled off the table I was at and the issue popped up.
Hi I bought an xp pen artist 24 pro drawing device with a mac mini computer with an m2 processor, I downloaded the driver and installed it in the device, but also the device did not work, so the pen did not work on it. It seems that the device cannot read the driver with the mac mini because the pen settings are not rotated on the screen .. What is the solution? ?

Since this has a 3.1 type c to type c does it work on Android devices that has a 3.1 type c or the new ipad pro (2020)? The 3.1 type c is for data transfer and the tablet is a monitor after all so is there any way to connect them?
I have no doubt that the screen and pen has more value than wacom. However, I have some question, about reliability. I read that a lot of people still use their wacom's product for years with little to no complaint. I also read about the knock off having a driver problem and dead cable. If that is true than that two problem would be a moodkiller and might cut your productivity down. Yes it would be nice to have a more advance hardware with a cheaper price, but I prefer smooth enjoyable drawing experience without worrying anything might happen to the cable or driver. What is your experience on this?
Been waiting for your review! Very good. As feared, it has wobbles. For many it may not be that big a deal, but once you notice it and it slightly annoys you, it'll just keep chipping away and getting more annoying. I had a rather expensive screen protector on my ipad pro, until I saw it made the lines wobbly, I ripped that thing off asap, and happily put on a cheap flimsy film on instead, no wobbles anymore. But the alternatives have come really far now. It's now only drawing experience Wacom seems to have, other than perhaps build quality, which in the newest Wacom line is also sorta questionable, since since their old hardware still lasts far longer, than their newer lines. Just super happy the other brands has forced Wacom to either make it better priced, or add new features, rather than stagnation.

Is there anywhere an overview over which pen displays support touch? I can't find any. Even the pen display overview on Brad's site only is talking about the touch feature for one display and then just to say it doesn't work very well and he turned it off.
Even though it has no laminated display, in other reviews it is mentioned that there is very little parallax. Is it comparable to the parallax on the XP Pen 15.6 pro?
I was considering buying it but its too much work on the side of the screen too much option that will make me lost , so i changed my mind i dont have that much of time to learn each option
I reluctantly purchased this exact model when Wacom stopped providing drivers and support for my 2012 Cintiq. So far I love this XP-Pen screen. There is definitely a difference between the 2. This screen feels a little tackier and not as smooth as the Cintiq, maybe that's the pen nib, don't know. Occasionally there's a slight delay when placing the pen onto the screen like it needs to wake up and realize you're using the pen. Most of my concerns are about expectations based on my previous experience with Wacom. These are things I believe anyone will get used to in time. Being less than half the cost of a Wacom I'm so far excited about this new screen. Oh, and they have excellent customer service. They accidentally sent me a European model and send me out the correct power cord within 3 days.
I love that this tablet has shortcut keys on both sides and also supports USB-C connection! Do they make a smaller and more portable version of this tablet that you would recommend? I don’t want to sacrifice any features. I still want the same express keys on both sides like this tablet has. And I need the USB-C connection so that I can connect this tablet to my MacBook. The only thing that I want to be different is the size of the tablet because I prefer it be smaller, in order to be more portable. Please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thank you!
With Dell discontinuing the Canvas, do you know of any display tablets that also have good quality touch support? Something where you can move the canvas around with your hand. Wacom has been pretty hit and miss in the past when it comes to touch, and I haven't tried their new Pro series with touch.

@@markostamenkovic8350 The pen performance is borderline negligible unless you're actively paying attention to it, though. Once I get into the flow with my art, I don't notice them at all aside from the odd line that isn't quite as perfect as I'd prefer. The flaws with the pen just blend so well with mistakes you'd expect to make while on paper because you're a bag of meat that it's not even an issue.
@@SnowblindOtter I think it's perfectly fine and cool if people don't need it. But I do not think it's negligible for quite a few (like for example manga and comic inkwork) it's "close enough" but i do not think it's the same. The pen needs to always go exactly where you want it to, no if's or but's. And, especially the initial activation force, and how inconsistent it can be, that is unacceptable. That's not something anyone told me about when I got my 1st Huion and it completely ruined my workflow (i had trained myself to draw realllly lightly due to hand strain injuries in the past so they don't occur again). Having to press noticeably harder again was a dealbreaker. Xp Pen's is virtually identical and they outright said they don't see it as a problem and don't plan on doing anything about it anytime soon, so there's that.

Huion will be laminated and have etched glass. Unfortunately for me neither work with that resolution as everything is too small when run at 100% and too big when run at 200% and anywhere in between results all kinds of blurry nonsense with windows scaling. Can you still see pixels with these 2k pen tablets? Will Huion be upgrading their Kamvas Pro 22 this year?
I can't wait till xp-pen or huion come up with a touch version, I think bosto or someone else already had it, that's the one thing I miss from using a surface...
Does anyone know why colours look more saturated when viewed on a mobile device? I would just be drawing away on my software, finish and save it to my phone to view/post and I find that the colours aren’t true to what they were when viewed on my computer!

Brad can you please talk about huions pen tilt offset? Does Xp pen have tilt offset? Huion 16 def has it and it drives me crazy!!! Especially because I hold my pen differently depending on where my hand is.
I am a photographer and composite artist so I wouldn't use one for painting or drawing like a professional canvas artist. DO you think the 24pro would be excellent for my purpose?. I have heard other artist complain of that line wobble, or some kind of pen and surface distance.

@@islahfatin after almost a year and a half the xp pen 24 has been great. After the initial setup issues I've never had a problem with it. I've put mine on a Vesa desk mount now and it runs everyday after work.
I'm using sketchbook, photoshop, Kirita, and Blender with it and no issues.

How sturdy is the pen? I've had 2 huion pad tablets with a pen issue where it would draw in the hover zone. The first one came that way and the 2nd both pens I had rolled off the table I was at and the issue popped up.

I bought an xp pen artist 24 pro drawing device with a mac mini computer with an m2 processor, I downloaded the driver and installed it in the device, but also the device did not work, so the pen did not work on it. It seems that the device cannot read the driver with the mac mini because the pen settings are not rotated on the screen .. What is the solution? ?

The stroke straightner "lag" is intentional. It makes the line you draw on a string so that your lines are 'lagging' behind the cursor.

I have no doubt that the screen and pen has more value than wacom. However, I have some question, about reliability. I read that a lot of people still use their wacom's product for years with little to no complaint. I also read about the knock off having a driver problem and dead cable. If that is true than that two problem would be a moodkiller and might cut your productivity down. Yes it would be nice to have a more advance hardware with a cheaper price, but I prefer smooth enjoyable drawing experience without worrying anything might happen to the cable or driver. What is your experience on this?

Very good. As feared, it has wobbles. For many it may not be that big a deal, but once you notice it and it slightly annoys you, it'll just keep chipping away and getting more annoying.
I had a rather expensive screen protector on my ipad pro, until I saw it made the lines wobbly, I ripped that thing off asap, and happily put on a cheap flimsy film on instead, no wobbles anymore.
But the alternatives have come really far now. It's now only drawing experience Wacom seems to have, other than perhaps build quality, which in the newest Wacom line is also sorta questionable, since since their old hardware still lasts far longer, than their newer lines.
Just super happy the other brands has forced Wacom to either make it better priced, or add new features, rather than stagnation.

I can't find any. Even the pen display overview on Brad's site only is talking about the touch feature for one display and then just to say it doesn't work very well and he turned it off.
Even though it has no laminated display, in other reviews it is mentioned that there is very little parallax. Is it comparable to the parallax on the XP Pen 15.6 pro?

I was considering buying it but its too much work on the side of the screen too much option that will make me lost , so i changed my mind i dont have that much of time to learn each option
I reluctantly purchased this exact model when Wacom stopped providing drivers and support for my 2012 Cintiq. So far I love this XP-Pen screen. There is definitely a difference between the 2. This screen feels a little tackier and not as smooth as the Cintiq, maybe that's the pen nib, don't know. Occasionally there's a slight delay when placing the pen onto the screen like it needs to wake up and realize you're using the pen. Most of my concerns are about expectations based on my previous experience with Wacom. These are things I believe anyone will get used to in time. Being less than half the cost of a Wacom I'm so far excited about this new screen. Oh, and they have excellent customer service. They accidentally sent me a European model and send me out the correct power cord within 3 days.

I love that this tablet has shortcut keys on both sides and also supports USB-C connection! Do they make a smaller and more portable version of this tablet that you would recommend?
I don’t want to sacrifice any features. I still want the same express keys on both sides like this tablet has. And I need the USB-C connection so that I can connect this tablet to my MacBook. The only thing that I want to be different is the size of the tablet because I prefer it be smaller, in order to be more portable.

With Dell discontinuing the Canvas, do you know of any display tablets that also have good quality touch support? Something where you can move the canvas around with your hand.
Wacom has been pretty hit and miss in the past when it comes to touch, and I haven't tried their new Pro series with touch.

@@markostamenkovic8350 The pen performance is borderline negligible unless you're actively paying attention to it, though. Once I get into the flow with my art, I don't notice them at all aside from the odd line that isn't quite as perfect as I'd prefer. The flaws with the pen just blend so well with mistakes you'd expect to make while on paper because you're a bag of meat that it's not even an issue.
@@SnowblindOtter I think it's perfectly fine and cool if people don't need it. But I do not think it's negligible for quite a few (like for example manga and comic inkwork) it's "close enough" but i do not think it's the same. The pen needs to always go exactly where you want it to, no if's or but's. And, especially the initial activation force, and how inconsistent it can be, that is unacceptable. That's not something anyone told me about when I got my 1st Huion and it completely ruined my workflow (i had trained myself to draw realllly lightly due to hand strain injuries in the past so they don't occur again). Having to press noticeably harder again was a dealbreaker. Xp Pen's is virtually identical and they outright said they don't see it as a problem and don't plan on doing anything about it anytime soon, so there's that.
the only real measurement is, does Brad (or other top reviewers) use Wacom, Huion or XP-Pen themselves
@@markostamenkovic8350 Oh no, the damn input pressure is HORRIFIC, I definitely agree there. If they could fix that one issue alone it'd make these tablets REALLY compete with Wacom for sure.

Can a GTX 960 graphics card handle a 2k Display Tablet like this one? I've got an artist buddy who owns that gpu for gaming but could it be able to handle this tablet just fine?
Huion will be laminated and have etched glass. Unfortunately for me neither work with that resolution as everything is too small when run at 100% and too big when run at 200% and anywhere in between results all kinds of blurry nonsense with windows scaling. Can you still see pixels with these 2k pen tablets? Will Huion be upgrading their Kamvas Pro 22 this year?

Does anyone know why colours look more saturated when viewed on a mobile device? I would just be drawing away on my software, finish and save it to my phone to view/post and I find that the colours aren’t true to what they were when viewed on my computer!

Brad can you please talk about huions pen tilt offset? Does Xp pen have tilt offset? Huion 16 def has it and it drives me crazy!!! Especially because I hold my pen differently depending on where my hand is.

I am a photographer and composite artist so I wouldn't use one for painting or drawing like a professional canvas artist. DO you think the 24pro would be excellent for my purpose?. I have heard other artist complain of that line wobble, or some kind of pen and surface distance.
I just came here from the XP-PEN Artist13.3 video & it seems like this tablet, despite being a newer model of the same company, has more of a pen jitter during the drawing tests? Would you say you are being more critical in this review or that this pen is worse than the 13.3's? I wasn't able to see the line super clearly so I was just taking your word for it haha. Maybe in the future you could also include a screen cap from your computer?
