  • Pound that "Like" button if you'd like me to do more of these. So I searched and I searched and I could not find a dissassembly guide or video to replace the keyboard on a Toshiba Satellite P55t-A5116. I now assume others who tried have died during the attempt.
    Yes. The process of replacing the keyboard on this model IS indeed as bad as you have been fearing. But if I can do it, so can you.
    The disassembly process - I fumbled through trial and error - wouldn't have made a helpful video. But the reassembly - I caught the whole process. Then I reversed the video to give you an idea of the parts and many (MANY) screws you'll need to remove - and in which order - to get at the keyboard.
    Replacing the keyboard on most Windows laptops is a very simple process. This model, however, is more in line with the difficulty of replacing keyboards on some models of MacBook Pro, where you must basically do a full and complete disassembly to get to it.
    Ground yourself for static, and proceed carefully. You can do this.

    Have you replaced the trackpad? I've scoured the internet but haven't found any info on it. I'm about to just start messing with it.

      I have not, but I believe access to the trackpad starts being available at about the 3 minute mark in this video. That bit of exposed green PCB with what looks like a letter "P" written in black marker... I'm pretty sure that's what you'll be wanting to get at. Very likely that small ribbon cable which attaches in that same area is a connection for that trackpad. Good luck to you! ruclips.net/video/aS0csxvBU0w/видео.html

      @@Prrcomputers Thanks! I had thought my only issue was the keyboard until I took it out and cleaned it. The trackpad was easy at that point, removed 4 tiny screws and lifted the bottom, slipped right out. Unfortunately, I found today after reassembling the laptop that the keyboard is no good, oil must've gotten inside the keys. I had hoped it would be alright, found very little oil residue but it wasn't to be. Looks like I'm ordering a new keyboard and tearing it apart again lol. At least I'm good at that part now!

      Hi Tukulito, I see that battery listed at LaptopBatteryExpress (dot com), do a search for it there and you should find it.

    I need help taking out the battery, is it clockwise or anti-clockwise? This thing won't budge.

      Neither of the batteries in this laptop (the main Li-Ion battery, and the small CMOS coin-shaped battery on the motherboard) are removing by rotating them. The big/main battery is secured by some screws and just lifted out; if you're having trouble lifting it out because it is swollen, it's just going to take some extra effort and care. The CMOS battery is held in its receptacle by a clip; when the clip is released, the battery can then be pried out of the receptacle.

    how did you remove battery? Just by pulling?

    • @Prrcomputers
      @Prrcomputers  4 года назад

      Yes, there are a couple screws securing it in place and after that it just lifts out.

      Hi Chuuy. Which 10-pin connector would that be? One of the connectors at about 3:28 in the video?

    Hi @PRR Computers, do you think that is possible for you to upload to mediafire, mega or any other server a file with the whole drivers you have in your computer? I have the same model but I can't activate the touchscreen, I already tried everything!!!! Thanks a lot in advance. You can use DriverMax.
