  • „The Parting Glass“ is one of my favourite scottish/irish folk-songs. It’s scottish origin is dated way back in the 17th century but during the years it has become very popular in Ireland as well ... and of course in England (even Ed Sheeran did a mostly a-cappella version). I love to sing and play it and it is the ideal accompaniment to departure- and (obviously) funeral-occasions.
    I play it in traditional 3/4-Fingerstyle, because I think, that this song stands for itself and needs no „gimmicks“.
    Played on my Lakewood M38 custom „no-rainforest-woods guitar“ made of cherry, spruce, maple and plum with an L.R.Baggs Anthem pickup system.
    And don't forget: To support musicians, you have to pay for their music.
