One thing that is clever with Miyako and Midori is they have the tone settings on their guitar rigs set differently - Midori has a more mid-scooped and bass+treble boosted sound, while Miyako has her rig set-up with the mid-boosted, which is another reason it is easy to tell them apart. No matter the left-pan for Midori and right-pan for Miyako, even with a mono sound system, it is always easy to tell who is playing. This also fills the guitar sound for the rhythm parts. 🤘
The MV of this song was the one that broke them to the wider world. There was some initial disbelief that they could really play this, let alone live. Joke was on the doubters!
One of my favourite Lovebites performances - it's like getting hit by a runaway train !
The guitars , bass and vocals are all excellent but for me the absolute star of this song is Haruna - 6 minutes at 155 bpm without missing a beat and still having time to do a stick twirl or two !

Lovebites is more than a band, they are an intirely new fenomenon in heavy metal, a new path from and for the newest generations, as they are re-reading many heavy metal tendencies from classical bands and also from classic music and buiding, writing, all these masterpieces. It's a pleasure to listen to their songs so many times and never getting tired of them. It's surprising and amazing!

I won’t attempt to guess your ages, but I’m a massive Ritchie Blackmore fan…as well as believing Ronnie James Dio to be the best male rock vocalist ever. On the 1978 Rainbow album “Long Live Rock and Roll” is the song “Gates of Babylon”. I recently learned that the Middle Eastern vibes it gives off are because of a type of phrasing called “Phrygian Dominant”.
So the very first time I heard Shadowmaker, I recognised it immediately. The opening and closing “fast” riff section is, to my ears, the riff used in Gates of Babylon (with a slight variation of course) only much faster.
Miyako recently confirmed what I previously thought to be hearsay, which is that that she is an admirer of Ritchie, and that is why the Deep Purple classic “Burn” was one of six metal tracks she chose to cover…on the piano, on her recently released EP, “Etude Op 23”.
Haruna somehow finds the time to stick twirl while playing at eleventy-billion bpm.
A beautiful women with beautiful voice sings a beautiful song with beautiful band.

Seeing Lovebites has been on my bucket list since discovering them 2yrs ago best band
The stage performance of his song has gotten better from the 2017 performance in Europe to the 2021 performance. This song took some time for me to warm up to (don't know why), but once I saw the first live performance, I began liking this song more and more. Now it is one of my favorites. This version, to me, seems like they purposely put more into performing this song and it turned out great.

M&M standing close together, shredding is a worth the admission fee that's for sure. These ladies are absolutely magical and just different than any other band I've experienced in 35yrs+ of listening to metal. They are #1 on my bucket list as well...fingers crossed for a US Tour in '24! Hi Asaf and Itai... Yes Yes and Yes... One of my favorite songs and performances by Lovebites.. If you watch the MV the opening riff and drums sound like an inbound huey (Not so much in the mix of this live performance?).. Awesome.. So glad you are reactiong to all these Japanese female bands, the more exposure they get the better!! Best wishes to you both as always from France..

Watching your smiles watching the solo section is pretty much all you needed with this reaction. You've watched them enough, yet, each time you listen to a new song, you're surprised all over again.
In my opinion, Miyako has composed 4 masterpieces, and Shadowmaker is the first of them. The other three are Swan Song, Distopia Symphony, and Soldier Stands Solitarily. To me, her only competition as a composer is Kanami of Band-Maid. I have gotten to see Band-Maid live (as well as Nemophila and Asterism), so now Lovebites needs to play overseas, hopefully somewhere in Texas. Early 2024????

You confirmed what I write in the comments and tell people for 2.5 years now: today, in terms of teamwork, harmonization / synchronization of guitars, Midori and Miyako are the best pair of guitarists in the World of Metal. And what is very important, what can be added to their phenomenal professionalism and technique, Midori and Miyako have great respect for each other, mutual support and there are no attempts to "pull the blanket over themselves."

Hello gentlemen! Thanks for the reaction! This is one of their oldest songs, but still one of their best. Love it. Itai, you once said that you're a Gary Moore fan (as am I). So here's something you might be interested in hearing. As you know, Miyako is a classically trained pianist. She released a solo EP last month entitled "Etude Op. 23." On it, she arranged some well known metal songs into the classical style of piano. My favorite on the EP is "The Loner" by Gary Moore. I didn't think it would be possible to capture the essence of such a bluesy song by making it a classical piano piece. However, she was able to do it. Her version of the song is just breathtaking. I've listened to it many, many times already and like it better every time I hear it. The is no music video of it, but you might be able to find it on RUclips. I've also heard that it's on Spotify. I bought my copy of the album on iTunes for like $4.99. Best 5 dollars I've ever spent. I hope you'll check it out. I'm pretty certain that you won't be disappointed. Take care and be safe!

Miyako(G - black hair) chose to use a peavey6505Plus with orange cab〔 Orange PPC212 OB(Open Back Vintage 30) 〕and head to tighten the low frequencies and create a tight spread of sound in the midrange.
Midori(G) profiled the peavey6505Plus with a Kemper and chose to use a Marshall cab to give the sound more breadth.
Miyako and Midori created a band ensemble.

Midori said that since Miyako and I have the same head, there is a synergistic effect when we synchronize.

Hi Guys! Don't know if you're aware of it, but they have released a new live concert video - "The Hammer of Wrath." It's from their upcoming DVD "Knocking at Heaven's Gate" that will be released in August. It is DVD of their first live concert in two years. It's also the first time that we get to see Sami in a live concert. And she featured very prominently. The lighting, sound and photography for the video is top quality. There is an energy and an excitement that I haven't seen from them in a long time. I hope you'll react to it as soon as you're able. I know you'll love it. Peace!
