Thank you for coming back to Lovebites. These ladies are phenomenal and you're just scratching the surface. What's great about them - they have MASTERPIECES like this as well as face melters that will absolutely rip your face off! Recommend Judgement Day MV, title track from their latest album released earlier this year. Or go a completely different direction and do Studio version of LIAR, can totally see you guys digging that one, another one with a real 80s sound. But you can't go wrong with any song you choose. Keep it going!
Lovebites can go from soft sweet ballads to face melting shredding and head banging thrash metal and everything in between.
That main riff sounds familiar is because it's derived from Michael Jackson's "Beat It". EVH composed that riff specifically for MJ. Jennifer Batten was the primary LIVE session lead guitarist who followed MJ on a world tour for several years and made this riff famous and popular globally. One of Miyako's (lead guitarist/pianist stage left who also composed & arranged this track) guitar influences is Jennifer Batten, so she included the main riff from "Beat It" as an homage to Batten.
No Americans in this band, although lead singer Asami lived in the States for a few years! 🎸🔥🤘

I believe this band is highly underappreciated here in the States. Covid, their bassist & founder of the band Miho left, marriage & babies kept them from being able to tour. It's the first live video with the new bassist FAMI, and as you will see, she's having the time of her life on stage.
The piano intro is a fragment of Moments Musicaux no 4 in E minor by Rachmaninoff. The song proper is composed by Miyako, with lyrics by Asami. Miyako often takes inspiration from classical composers and this is how she pays tribute to them on stage.

we are still waiting for a u.s. tour from LOVEBITES after almost 7 years. not sure why they haven't been here yet - logistics or something. and then you had covid thrown in for a couple of years and that sure didn't help matters any. hopefully their fans in the states will be rewarded by a visit so we don't have to travel to germany , the u.k. or japan. bucket list for me

A new video came out from a show they did in March to show they are back and show off the new bassist, Fami. The song is the first song of the concert which will be on Blue Ray/CD in late August.
