Man, ya'll made this guy drink Malort so many times he can actually kinda stomach that swill. The rather tame faces of mild disgust he makes after every sip say this is far from his first rodeo.
As a denizen of the city that birthed that vile concoction, you have my respect sir. Nobody willingly drinks it. Every group has that one friend with about 3/4 a bottle of this crap sitting on a shelf just for those rare moments someone has never heard of it before, and everyone can go "oh dude, you gotta try it - it's GREAT."
I tried it for the first time three weeks ago and it was tolerable. Unicum and Sweick are so much worse.

I don't honestly find this stuff nearly as unbearable as many people seem to. I wouldn't drink it neat; it is fairly bitter and the bitterness lingers for a while. But I think mixed with tonic water it'd be fairly decent. Either by itself or with some bitters or the right gin.
On the other hand I also did the one chip challenge and found it to be not all that spicy, so there may just be something wrong with my taste buds in general.
