I'm glad you got the humor immediately. Most people go into the movie thinking it's just straight horror and then they're not sure if they should be laughing at things or not, but you didn't have that problem at all.

The representative from the US Embassy that visits David in his room is Frank Oz. He's the puppeteer and voice of Miss Piggy, Fozzy Bear and Yoda. He also directed a number of films, including Little Shop of Horrors, What About Bob? and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He has small roles in a number of films directed by John Landis who directed this film.

This movie pulls off a hat trick that most horror comedys cant.. a perfect balance of Horror, Drama, Character building Comedy. If you liked this one, Return of the Living Dead (1985) is another one that gets it right. It's one of the first Zombie comedies but it flips the "rules' on their head... The comedy doesnt overshadow the horror element, and the writing is really smart and fun to listen to.

That was why he didn't smash through the nurse's living room windows. It's a good thing he didn't or she might've got mad at him when he came back from the zoo. Red was David's color.

Hi Tara! I loved your reaction to this horror/comedy classic and as a happy subscriber, I love your reactions/channel. Keep up the wonderful work, youre so cute, gorgeous and adorable :) I don't mind this movie (apart from all the scary bits & Werewolf images that have traumatised me for years that I mute/cover my eyes when they're on) and it was great to watch your reaction to it. It's writer/director John Landis got the idea for it over a decade earlier when he was in the former Yugoslavia as a 2nd unit assistant director, working on Kelly's Heroes (1970) a WWII comedy set just after D-Day... (Highly recommend movie btw.) When he saw a gypsy funeral with the body covered with something to stop the soul coming back to life and wondered what it would be like to be visited by a dead friend. It was filmed in February & March, 1981, the Yorkshire Moors scenes were shot in south Wales & actual locations in London. Rick Baker's incredible special make up effects have never been bettered and the transformation scene is the most horrific in movie history! Poor David Naughton spent multiple hours a day for a nearly a week in the special make up! And right up towards the end of filming the transformation scene, he had to go on a lunch break with all the make up effects/prosthetics on, looking so hairy and the cast & crew were all mesmerised & horrified at what he looked like!

So, if the "curse" is transmitted by a bite, then by medical science, it's categorized as a bloodborne pathogen. And if that's the case, it should count as an STD, too, right? Seems straightforward, but I've never seen that angle in a werewolf movie.

There's only one scene I remember from watching An American Werewolf in London as a child. I'm sure whoever seen this movie knows what scene I'm talking about.
    That Haunting Transformation scene.

A sequel was made, An American Werewolf in Paris (1997), the FX were...awful, nothing to compare to this one, they used CGIs mostly and it wasn't really the right time to do so.
BUT, I loved it, because the characters, the story and the humor were just as good, If not better, as this one, the ending was very very different too (If I'm correct they made two endings).

It’s a movie commentary video. I’m supposed to talk.
I can talk and still hear what’s going on in my headphones.

The subway scene was also dumb because they're in London it should have been filled up with people since London is almost like New York when it comes to a bunch of people being there in the city

Wow this movie is frustrating. It's people overreacting, underreacting, not offering information and not heeding information. Other than the special effects, I'm having a hard time understanding why so many people love this movie so much.

@@TaraTunesIn True, usually there's one miscommunication that sets up a conflict, that get's the ball rolling. But this one is non-stop. The townspeople, the police, the doctors.... A great ending for me would be the werewolf killing everyone in the movie! 😀😀😀
