I don't know WHO taught you how to cook, but ALL of your recipes are AWESOME. I wasn't even thinking about cooking, and now I want this. Oh, how I wish I could invite myself over to sit at your dinner table! 😩
Rub roast with oil, add salt & pepper. If it's a 5 lb roast, roast for 2 hours. Take out roast after 2 hours. Shred up the roast. Dump some BBQ sauce on it and you've got pulled pork sandwiches.
I made this tonight and it was SO GOOD!!! I never would have thought of using apple juice but it cooked down with the roast juice and was a wonderful flavor...family loved it! I will defs make this more often!! Thank you ♥️
Just made your pork roast. Oh my goodness it was delicious! And the potatoes and carrots were so tender. And my house just smelled so good while it was baking. Thanks again for a great recipe your recipes are awesome. I love your hot fudge recipe
Roasted pork is essential for New Year's Eve here in Hungary. If you eat pork on the last day of the year, that brings you luck (as the pork digs out luck).
Hey Rachel, looks like I found what to make for New year's dinner, I am very interested in the use of apple juice, thanks again for the recipe and take care!
Best pork roast I’ve had! Thank you for this recipe! I made it in my Dutch oven but now I want to make several at the same time for a bigger crowd in my slow cooker. How long should I cook in my slow cooker?
This recipe was a big hit in my family. Tastes and smells awesome. The only tweak I made was I replaced the apple juice with vegetable stock and a pinch of sugar. Thank you!
Good morning, damned now I am hungry. That is very good looking pork roast. Looks like a Sunday morning project for dinner. Thanks for the great recipe. You take care.
Thanks for the timing and temperatures!!!!! That’s always what I get hung up on . This roast can be eaten with a plastic spoon because it’s so tender .
I made this exactly the way she demonstrates and it was super delicious 🤤., my family devoured it leaving no left overs ., this will definitely be one of our weekly meals from now on
I’ve made this many times and love it. Stay at home chef is my favorite. My daughters friend recently took an interest in cooking and introduced her to your tube page.
Big fan here :) I will try this recipe! Hope I’m successful. I would like to juice my own apples for this. Which kind of apples should I use? Side note: 5 days ago I cooked up your Sloppy Joes recipe...fantastic! It was sooo good! Simple to follow your videos, THANK YOU! Finally, a new dish to rotate in.
Made this recipe for the first time today in my new combekk Dutch oven without the lid. The whole family loved the recipe and the pork roast had a great flavour and tender too. The vegetables Turned out perfect and we made a gravy with the sauce. Thank you for making this video.
I’m currently making this I hope it’ll turn out great, I have another hour to go lol 😆 I use the ceramic on the crockpot to cook in the oven instead of using my slow cooker. I can’t wait to see results. I added an extra hour because my ceramic is thicker
This is a fantastic recipe. 10/10. Something else I did, once the roast and vegetables have been removed from the roaster, strain the liquid and then use it as directed with a package of powdered pork gravy mix. Phenomenal!
OMG!!!!! I just made this today and can I say Delicious!!!!!!! This roast was so good that I don't think I'll ever make a Boston butt any other way. I sent my husband to get apple juice and I'm so glad I did. It really made the difference. The juice was soo good. Thank you for this recipe. Only thing I changed was Yukon gold potatoes and dry rosemary.
Hello stay at home chef, I really like what I saw in your recipe. I will use it this week. I have been cooking pork buts and pork ribs in the oven for a few years now. Your spice rub is very close to the one use, I add brown sugar to the rub, after rubbing in I add honey and knead it all over.
I swapped the veg oil for duck fat (which I keep in the fridge from cooking duck breasts) + sweet white wine instead of apple juice.. probably cos I live in France and that's the preference here :)
In the video the pan was not covered, so I tried it in an exactly same way. But then my vegetables turned dry !! I just covered the tray with aluminum foil and am waiting for the result. Is there anyone who has a same problem?
Made this already once based off this recipe, made up my own seasoning mix with what I had. Onion powder, garlic powder, lemon pepper, regular pepper and some sugar. Anyway, first time I did it exactly like she showed. Taste was amazing but I feel like leaving the top off the whole time really dried out the pork roast. Cooking it again literally right now. I'm adjusting cooking time a bit, roast is like 2.75lbs. And keeping the top on throughout. AND using more apple juice than originally. Let's see how this works in regards to moisture level.
Tried this recipe tonight and it was amazing. Worked out really well. Had to tweak it a bit on timing as I used a leaner, smaller roast that I already had but none the less it was tender and delicious and so were the veggies. Yummo. I didn’t have a sprig of fresh rosemary so I just used a little dried and it was fine. Thank you so much for the delicious recipe. Next time I will try the Honey Dijon pork loin roast. x
The crockpot always alters the result just a bit, but you can definitely brown it and put it in a slow cooker. I've included those instructions on the website with the recipe.
😅and as it happened - i didn´t have apple juice at home . lol, so took the juice of a lemon and an orange and used some mineral water. Thankx for the video, very helpful. Great idea to cook the veggies together with the meat in one pot, safes pots and adds a good taste to the veggies.
OMG!!! I made this recepie. I was kinda skeptical at first, but i tried it, granted, i didn't have carrots, so i used quarted tomatoes and i substituted the praprika for fennel seeds. I cooked it just till the temperature reached 145 - 150 degree and it came out soooooo delicious!!! and so tender and juicy. For some reason the apple juice added a well balanced flavor and made the tomatoes and onions sweet and so rich. it was really, really good.
I can't seem to get the carrots tender. Should I have used more apple juice to make sure the carrots were submerged? It all smells great but at 3 hours of cook time I would think is would be done.
I made this today. Very good, although, I missed being able to make gravy with the drippings.. Would I try this again? You betcha... Thank you , Rachel.
I love roast pork and definitely intend to make this recipe soon; it looks delicious. I love how simple you make the recipes sound, explaining simply all that is needed. You keep on point with the preparations, no distractions, no going off subject. You are the Queen of Clarity..that is an art in itself. Thank you!
Amazing meal! I had to make a few adjustments - no apple juice, no onion - used chicken broth and cauliflower respectively. Beautifully tender and so tasty! Thank you.
I'm glad she clarified that you can cook this on any day of the week you want.
I don't know WHO taught you how to cook, but ALL of your recipes are AWESOME. I wasn't even thinking about cooking, and now I want this. Oh, how I wish I could invite myself over to sit at your dinner table! 😩

curious about what the apple juice does for this dish and if it can be substituted for something else?
use stock maybe
I just made this. I cut the recipe in half. I thickened the left over liquid and poured it on the pork. It was fantastic.

Do you put it on low or auto?

Hey Chef.
I was impressed that you didn't put the top on your Dutch oven.
I'm assuming that's the better way to do it, right?
Yes, with this particular cut of pork, I find that roasting is a better option than braising.
