    I've watched alot of leather making videos over the years on my journey to leather crafting, and you along with a few others, I watch actually make a video, tutorial, and provide a template so others can make their own. You're the real deal! Marketing, design, etc. There is only one dieselpunk and your skills are exceptional. Much thanks for your work and sharing with the world.
    Thank you,

    Going to work on two more of these next week. I decided to watch the tutorial again to brush up as it's been a year since I made the last one. Reading comments it amazes me how folks judge according to their own taste. To those that may be unaware, among the leather making community, Tony is a legend. His designs are always top notch, the patterns when you follow the instructions work every time with great results. That folks complain about the length of the video (there is a fast forward feature here) or the music (so? it's not your taste, big deal. Didn't know there was a set musical format that must be adhered to to please you or that that was the goal...pleasing you specifically). Some people's arrogance is astounding. Be glad you didn't have to figure all this out on your own.

    My shops a wreck, but I finally finished my bag! Word of advice to all potential makers out there; buy all the hardware before you start construction! This bag is the perfect size and the instructions are easy to follow and it was actually an easy project that looks amazing. Can’t say enough good things about Tony and his patterns. Thanks for sending me the last pdf to finish it off. I’m ready for my next project!!!!

    Hello, I would like some patterns for a 70 liter backpack, that has comfortable handles, it wouldn't matter if it was made of tube so as not to sew so much, an 80 cm tube (that can fit a bow saw and a 75 cm ax for when I go to the forest to make a shelter and when I go down the street no one sees what I put in the car) it would be great, with its pockets and a mushroom on top (mushroom in Spain is what we call the top part of the backpack that opens and It has many pockets) thank you regards

    Are you considering doing a kit of hardware parts for this backpack?And, just out of interest, why did you change to a diamond punch for the holes around the pocket zipper? And why do you seem to prefer round holes everywhere else over diamond punched holes? Do the needles go through the round holes easier?
    Cannot wait to make one of these for use with my new 125cc Monkey bike! Not exactly steampunk, but what the heck!

    Dear Tony, I just purchased your pattern because i wanted to make one for my wife. Un fortunately i use the same sinabrock as you 7pins 6mm and 1.5mm diameter. But on your pattern the spaces between the holes varies from 6 to 7 or 8 mm. So it's such a mess and a loss of leather. I started to use the sinabrocks but soon i could'nt match your holes. You're gonna tell me tha i had to punch holes one by one i suppose. So sad. i loved your patterns.

    (I know it probably has a lot to do with how well you made it) but how durable is the finished pack? Do you feel like you need to be extra careful with it, or is it a good one to take on a day hike or over night?

    • @offroadskater
      @offroadskater 2 года назад +1

      Hey, just noticed that nobody answered your question. It might seem easy to answer, but the question is more layered than one realises. First of all, that pack is heavier than your usual fabric hiking bags. Keep that in mind.
      'how well you made it' constitutes a lot of things. What kind of leather did you use? How thick? How much oil is in the material? What kind of thread are you using? What is your definition of durable? Do scratches still count as durable to you? Does it have to be 100% waterproof? A lot of considerations go into answering your question, most of which only you can answer.
      The design is for a sturdy bag,but the final judge of that has to be you, what you expect and how you treat it. This all might be useless to you, but I tried. Have a good one.
