Tony says a ‘Zen master’ might make this bag. I find the video very relaxing; the music, his voice, the beautiful soft leather.... Tony is to leatherwork as Bob Ross is to painting (“Next we tap in some happy little rivets’)
My partner is busy studying and dropped everything when receiving the tutorial notification to watch it. We love watching the videos and enjoy your sense of humour.
Jip thats me dropping everything, running around the house like a herold shouting Tony is on RUclips at long last with his duffle bag video......... thank you Tony for making leatherwork great again.
Tony, I just finished the big "one"! It is gorgeous! You can pack the bedroom closet in it. I want send a picture and will do so once I figure out how to do it. I'm 83 and am technologically challenged. The pattern is great and your instructions very easy to follow? Thanks
What can I say, I love Tony's patterns! I liked this duffel bag pattern so much I bought it twice! It is a very long project and very tedious, but well worth the effort! Thanks Tony!
Beautiful duffel bag and it will look better and better as it get older just like wine and it will last generations to come. The colour and the design match perfect! Your finishing is completely impeccable!
Hi Tony. Love the design! I used some 'feet' instead of the rivets so that the leather does not get damaged. It works well! The bottom is reinforced with shoemakers cardboard, and covered with a lining of pigskin. Looks great! Thanks for a great piece of work....took 3 days to make but worth it!
This Old LEATHER SMITH says, now that U talk through UR videos more new Crafters will understand what U R doing, the explanation is better in verbal terms NOW than before, GREAT JOB TONY GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
I made it. It's alot of work but it's beautiful. The pattern is easy to follow. Tony really walks you through the whole entire thing . Cutting out my second pattern from this guy now . I love his patterns
I love it, I don't know if you read the comments or not but if you do: one small tip that I've learnt is to use a tiny bit of loctite on your fastening studs. I've known them to come loose sooner or later and if you do that the chance is lowered drastically. If you have replacements it's not a problem but if you've sold the item to someone they don't typically have the hardware.
OMG, I am just putting the finishing touches on the small version of this bag - it was a monster of a project but it is by far my favorite leather project to date because of the results. What an awesome pattern. I will post pictures to your Facebook group in the next couple of days as soon as the bag is 100% done.
Thank you, this was lovely. The needlework is an art form, the music is just perfect and the tip for inserting the zip is priceless. Thank you so much for sharing.

Ok..look. imma keep it 100. Im already sold on this channel. This dude is awesome. Liked, subscribed, annnnnd will attempt...in the future that is. Lmfao.
Very nice bag! Tons of work but just like everything in life that is good. I Just suggest you to use some glue on the threads of the bolt so it would prevent to get loose over time. Best regards!
Hi Tony Thanks for your awesome videos. Really love your way of teaching. I made my own bag, based on your design, but not using your pattern - my currency is worth NOTHING against the $ so it would have just been way too expensive to buy your pattern. But I’m very happy with how my bag came out. Thanks again!
Never disappointed with the videos, this is amazing and I am inspired to have a go! I have a lot of leather off cuts and rolls and rolls of upholstery wool weaves like herringbone and tweeds. If you don't mind I might blend the two to achieve a contrast. Please keep making these videos as they really inspire my creative mind.
Juste another peace of Art ! And the price of the pattern is just mind blowing. I thought it would me much expensive (because, I imagine, there is a lot of work involved !). You dit it Tony ! Once again ! Congratz my friend !
It's Father Guido Sarducci...ruclips.net/video/lWBhsiBMOIo/видео.html I love Tony's work! I have learned so much and created so many awesome works of leather. Tony is getting funnier every day.
Tony as I saw the build up for the new design I was somewhat relieved that it didn’t interest me. Bad back and all, I knew this big ole bag was well out of my tolerance limits. Didn’t even watch the release of the vid until this morning. Came for the humor. 🤷🏼♀️ then you pull out that sexy small version. Dammit. Gotta buy another pattern rofl funny how I don’t really need another bag of any sort but watching you build the large I’m thinking of what contrived purpose can I rationalize making the small version lol I will find a good purpose for it!
Always enjoy your videos. I learn something new every time! Wish you would put the dimensions of the finished product on the website where you sell the patterns. I want to make one that will fit under an airplane seat. Really like the way you built the shoulder strap. I like using the Sam Brown buttons whenever I can.
Thank you for posting this! I greatly enjoy your very informative and entertaining videos. I am a very very beginner at leather working and was wondering if you could use masking tape to hold the two edge pieces together while you are stitching or us that just an unneeded step?
Great build and nice design. I enjoyed watching your video very much. One question though: Is there a specific reason why you punch each hole individually and do not work with stitching irons?
I have jacket quality leather at home. Would that be suitable? It's quite thin and supple (can sew it on my domestic sewing machine with leather needles).
Hi Tony, we have watched all of your videos and have bought many patterns, Because we like the way you put the stitch holes in them. We are in the process of making this bag and the leather we are using scratches very easily. Can you tell us what kind of leather you are using? Because yours looks fantastic!

Hi Tony, I love this bag. I've used the large bag for a while now. I recently looked back at the pattern because I want to make a shoulder strap. I feel foolish asking but I don't see the shoulder strap in the pattern. Did I miss it? You gave a tutorial on the strap in the video but I don't see the shoulder strap pattern. Is there a link to that somewhere? I got both the medium and large patterns but neither show the shoulder strap. Love the bag. Love your tutorials. Thanks
Hey, I really want to make this bag but have a few questions, what leather are you using? And where can I buy it? Also How many square feet is required to make this bag?
Is it ok to attach the handles before the 2 sides are attached to each other? I don't want to F it up, but maybe it will be easier for me to stitch before I have to sew through from inside the bag
This has got to be some of the nicest leathers I have ever seen. I purchased the template, anyone know where to buy that leather from? Any direction would be appreciated
Hey Tony - I have a large enough hide to do the entire main body (parts a, b, c, d, e) of the bag in a single piece. Is there any reason to cut it all into smaller pieces and then sew it back together?

I just finished this duffle. Gotta say, there was more cussing with this one than on any other I've made. Well worth it though.
Lol same here, air was blue, nearly binned it twice, but looks great once done.
I've just made this bag!!!! It's my first big job. Thanks a lot Tony for pleasure from this work! It was hard for me, but now I'm very proud💪
Glad I could help!
You do make me smile Tony. You should have your own TV show. Keep on keeping on my friend.
Why does this video still not have millions of views? This will be my magnus opus. Thank you for the detailed instructions.
A lot of work but truly magnificent. Your patterns have inspired me to greater heights in my leather work. Thank you Tony.😊
Very nice bags. I might suggest using a zipper with two pulls, one at either end. That way you can put a small travel lock on it if you want.
Tony is the best ! "If youre a Zen master" haha love it no one is making you do this bag good luck all - Brad

Fantatic!!!!! Mister
Please tell me how you came to this craft? Did you like it before you started doing this? Or do you like it after a while? Thanks!
Excellent! And how do you create a model like this? Trial and error, a book? Thanks!
Absolute top 👏🏼👍
What about the edge finish? Did you burnish them? I think about using a veg tan leather for this build, should I burnish the edges in this case?
I've downloaded the pattern but can you please advise as to the amount of leather used as well as other materials list, Thank You
One day I'll try making this...I'm still to green right now though.
Same here- stitching together scraps to learn, right now.
Hi Tony. Very cool work, hard work. Thank you for the video. How much leather is needed for this bag and how thick?

I think it pull-up
I glued the two large pieces together. Can I just sew it in without the sandwich part? Or will it not hold up?

Cool
Why do you punch holes for stitching and not stitching chisels? What diameter thread do you use for stitching?

Is it easier to built bag like this one with truck tarpaulin? Leather is fare more expensive, for a first try.
