Thank you! That is coming next! It is platform target rendering pipeline I developed. So meaning RUclips VR and Apple Vision Pro will have a different rendering pathway. The AVP looks A LOT BETTER with its high pixels display unit. I will cover all that in great details in my next very nerdy explainer video
Amazing Hugh! Looks good in 4K on my 27" Apple Studio Display, but it's amazing in the MetaQuest 3 RUclips app at 8K (when not buffering on 250mb wifi). Is that a ghost 👻 on the rocks near the arch at 6:57? Guessing it's a reflection off something 🤔 How much post production, did you use Topaz to sharpen or is most of it from the camera?
Lol you catch my error. That shot I need to patch all people behind us that just looking at us. Just a general good practices and to not put other people in my videos. 360 is. tough. But then I mess up the plate as the camera drift!! Another big problem I will discuss more on this new X4 in the next video now I have TON of editing experience with it in 8K. Lots of post production on it for sure but I will break it down soon. The base is 8K make lots of the work possible tho. The timelapse is 11K and it is crazy stunting. Make me wish I can do more timelapse.

Nice to see Kimchi again, but try to increase the KPM (Kimchi per minute) next time. Is editing of the titles done directly on the insta360 software or do you use a video editor to edit 8k 360 video? thx!
The national park NOT allow Kimchi to go in!! B/c he like to chase wildlife and hunt them... He got us in trouble. And he get tired so fast and I need to carry him and the camera. I know X4 is light but Kimchi is not... This video is entire edited in Adobe Premiere not touching any Insta360 software. They kinda silently launch the new Premiere workflow and I have been testing that for them. I will explain more in the next video. It is also all free if you have Adobe. It is very powerful RAW workflow.
Hey Hugh I just want to ask you something, I really want to have a really good camera who have a really good quality, for my 360 Tours, will you take the X4 or way for the new 1-inch version 2?
I already have the X4. But for sure I want the new 1" V2. But for Virtual Tour, I use my 1" V1 which I also have

Hey Hugh! What kind of file size would you estimate or know how much an hour of 8k30 video would be on the x4?
I have 512G card btw. It is double the size of X3 in 5.7K so it does run fast but not as big as 4K files from your professional camera like the SONY A7 or A1.

Thanks for the X4 videos! Do you plan to do a side by side comparison with the Qoocam 8K and OneRS that we can watch in the headset? I saw the comparisons in the last video but it's hard to get a sense of a real comparison in a non-360 video.
I might wait for Qoocam 3 Ultra to come out first to do that video - so we can have a more complete review :) Let's wait coupled more weeks.

Watched this all the way through on a Metaquest Pro, using the RUclipsVR app. 1st up - loved the film! A couple of Qs - the quality of the video dropped very noticeably for me in the road sections. Is that RUclips or the camera? Because the loss of detail was striking. 2 how did you do the neat reflective nadir effect? Lastly fyi in the quest pro, the resolution maxxed out at 2160s
Both. So moving pixels usually compressed in H265. The Codecs sux at encoding fast moving footage. Drone is fine as it is slow but Keeley driving in 60 miles per hours on the road and that is when the footage will break down. So X4 record in HEVC - so quality drop there - and then upload on RUclips is HEVC so drop again. You see higher quality if you have Apple Vision Pro for sideloading the source file. You skip RUclips compression but the camera still have compression there. That is why we want RAW footage always. Canon shoot RAW that is why it is always better in situation like this.

I have already received the X4, but I haven't had time to try it yet because the weather is very bad. Until now, I could only try it indoors in low light conditions, but now that I see what it can do outside... it's very cool. I would like to know how you feel about the 3D solution (2x X4), because if it works, I will already buy the second one :)
Well don't get it yet. For some reason my 2nd X4 is still not here yet so I have not had the time to figure that out. After I push out the tutorial on this video and I will work on Stereo workflow next

No. Did you see this video? That is my test on showing them the problem ruclips.net/video/bES2KMfZOFY/видео.htmlsi=p15AQecRMowdu5Nq - it stuck for more than a week in 4K and they find the issue and fix it and push out to everyone. @@hughhou Great thanks, I'll check it out. Any plans for an in-depth over view using it under water with the dive case. Just returned from key largo. Definitely some room for improvement. I can't prove it now but my early test seem to show the X4 case has more distortion vs the X3. I plan to do a direct test next time i can dive. Unfortunately my test is lake Erie may not be as exciting as the great coral reef. Uploading the x4 weekend reef video now.

@hughhou i had qoocam 8K but that was a mix bag of problems i still have it and battery still works but still have editing problems i think Insta360 is much better ive been loving my ace pro so this is nice upgrade from my old x2

It is 8K. You export in with computer not mobile phone. I will show the entire workflow. Oh and X4 is a 8K camera.

As the x4 , given the resolution and image quality and price tag . I think it’s a serious challenger to the calf camera if you stack two x4 to produce vr180 videos

it's only 2,7 GB when downloaded. VR Gorilla has higher bitrates.
VR Gorillaz I believe shoot at 3D 360 on Pro 2 or Titan. So the bitrate is 10x higher for a professional camera. We shoot with tons camera as well for our regular high end 3D 360 video. So it make prefect sense. The camera quality is nowhere compared to 8K on Pro 2 or Titan still. You can see the quality different.

Hugh this is AWESOME. Most 360 camera reviews don't show the actual 360 footage just footage they cropped for a normal video.

@@hughhou Yes because the way I would use it is for full 360 video and you are showing real world examples. I just posted a few 360 videos of me playing guitar. I would like to gather a bunch of acoustic musicians around a 360 camera and do other cool stuff with a 360 camera. My 360 camera is old and junky though and I would love to upgrade.

You did unterstand something… a story and audio storytelling is more important than the video footage… looked this with 720 and 480. and in audio the 8 k total sucks.

@@hughhou discussion you can open in the Davinci Resolve Audio and Sounddesign group. One part Marketing of Insta… did you see their presentation… so cheap made. You was the lucky guy that was not there. Rest did massive ruin their reputation. Insta marketing degrade 360 to a infantile gimmick. By the way your audio is ok. I did took the cam from the to buy list.
I own the x4... and like I see here. 360 8K videos look identical the 360 4k videos on RUclips. Not sure what's up, but I literally can't see any difference. Weird. I've been racking my brain on this...
I think because the footage is uploaded in 1080 not 4 or 8k.
Wait did you set it to 4320P? You need to manually set the highest resolution for 8K video. RUclips default give you very bad quality. Also the real different you need to see it inside Meta Quest 3 or Apple Vision Pro those VR headset.
@@hughhou Yes. It's 8192x4320. And it shows 8k (4320) while watching it on my MacBook ProMax M3 using Chrome. I literally cannot see any difference. Right out of the camera the 360 footage is 7680 × 3840. (I know you know this)...In order to get RUclips to recognize it as 8k, it has to be resized to 8192x4320 or at the very least, 7680x4320. After uploading and waiting for RUclips to finally finish the 8k render, it looks the same as I switch back and forth between 4k/8k while it's playing. Troubleshooting is taking entirely too long do to render times (mainly on RUclips side). Perhaps, I'll start making 10sec clips and playing with settings in Davinci. Straight out of Insta Studio won't produce 4320 files.. I think that is a BIG oversight on their part.
@@davidalanmedia It's definitely uploaded in 8k. I have done a bunch of experiments over the last few days. Takes a long time for RUclips to finally display the 8k version, but once it does...switching between the 4k and 8k versions looks identical on my M3 Max MBPro (in Chrome). I don't have VR goggles unfortunately. 8k video from other cameras displays correctly, it's just the Insta X4 8k 360 footage that's odd. I hope I can figure it out.
Google has intentionally limited their bit player. If you want better quality video viewing, then you must pay them for their higher bit rate players. Google offers freemiums, but their high quality is hiden behind pay walls. Just how Google operates today.

Mmmm...could you ask that creator where he learned the export settings from? (Tutorial from me 4+ years ago: ruclips.net/video/9Up3ZOpof9Q/видео.html) This is the best quality RUclips could handle. But did you set the resolution to 4320p (8K) and view it on Meta Quest 3? I am pretty confident this video is the best quality X4 can get on RUclips in 8K. But I would love a challenge if anyone can compress it better than me :) Hehe.

Yes but it is not made yet of a FPV drone for X4.
