  • Today we are taking a look at the Iray ML19 Thermal Monocular. A very nice unit for the price. There are a couple of drawbacks, but on the whole this might be the best thermal for the price.

    Welp, just ordered one, looks like it destroys the Breach in clairity. Hope it holds up.

      @@amtrindle Contrary to what he said in the video it’s actually quite good for helmet mount, the factory eye relief was more than enough, not sure how he wears his stuff though. It’s a great little unit, blows most other monoculars out of the water, very nice menu interface and well constructed. The sensitivity and clairity of the display and sensor work well together. It’s a winner.

    Not sure how collimation would be achieved with *any* dual setup that isn't mounted on a panobridge that allows angle adjustment of each individual tubes. Is it a capability featured in any other Iray products?

      I don’t believe it is. Something like the Flir Breach has a setting to adjust the screen position wich allows for a proper overlay.

    Taipan 19 looks better to me at those distance. Plus it’s cheaper

      This video does not show what it looks like through monocular, this unit made to be helmet mounted, pvs14 eyepiece required for best eye relief. Been using one of these for over a year now.

    Can you cowitness the ML19 or the Flir Breach with an ACOG?

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  Год назад +1

      Neither are specifically made for that. But you are able to adjust the margins on the Flir breach.

    Hi, bought one yesterday. Can you give me advice on how to record in a compact way please?

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  Год назад +1

      Well unfortunately I’m not sure there is a good way. I bought a small dvr about 2.5”x2.5”. But it still requires an external power to operate it.

    I saw your comparison with the flir and from what I understand you think the ml19 is better for definition, while the flir for resistance. having to use it to play airsoft, will the ml19 be better?

    • @code4defense745
      @code4defense745  9 месяцев назад

      It would probably stand up fine for airsoft. I’m not sure that you could use it for much more than detection.
