    I have destroyed ARPGs starting with Diablo. My warder that I still havent looked things up on is doing great, but I am out of ideas for doing characters. Mechanics, appearances, concepts, all of it I am not in love with. BUT, doing this is the most fun I have had in an ARPG in forever. It's like, "hey! check this cool way of doing things out!" Love it , man!

      Thanks, I know exactly what you mean. I wasn’t completely sure how the ‘single big skill’ on Occultist would work out, so I tried it and quickly realised I had to share the results because it’s such a crazy powerful build almost immediately using gear that is just so easy to get. As for fun, yes indeed.

    I opted to finish everything untill Broken Hill's portal, so my character was 4 levels above yours and the Vile Scepter and Raiment that drop were level 40.

      Yeah, the order of doing things is down to personal preference. I like to start earning FG faction rep as soon as possible, and it’s easy to dip into the FG area as and when, once Krieg is out of the way.
      I’ve got more of this build video content coming soon, cheers for the support 👊🙂

      It’s a decent item for Nightblade/Oathkeeper but doesn’t directly buff any of the skills on an Occultist or Arcanist. It does buff acid/poison damage but that’s all really.

    Great video as always!

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад +1

      Yeah, you’re going to want acid/poison damage buffs and nothing that converts acid damage to another damage type. Later (through Elite and Ultimate) you will be looking for some of the Monster Infrequent items to drop with significant resistance buffs - this will make life much easier.

    just picked up the chosen raiment and the vile scepter, but they have a level requirement of 40, what's up with that? they only require level 20 in your video. i was 37 when i got them, does the game scale level requirements based on what level you are when you receive the item?

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад

      Yeah, unless you're low level (under 35) you're going to get the level 40 version. The best way to get the level 20 would be in Shattered realm but I couldn't see much point doing that as the earlier items (Pusquill tail etc) will carry you easily to 40.

    The thing that is really, really, really getting on my nerves about Grim Dawn is the bosses just Spam dash at you. Like how is there no mechanics to avoid a boss jumping and dashing at you with apparently a zero second cooldown. I have leapt up and over entire sections of map that would require 20 seconds of walking, but here comes the boss now transformed into the Flash half a second later to slam right next to me and continue it's ownslaught.
    I have searched the forums, reddit, everywhere and NO one talks about this. How is this normal or acceptable, it makes no f*cking sense and it drives me insane when I am just trying to buy myself two whole fucking seconds to get an ability off before I am destroyed or chain cc'd into oblivion.
    I have watched a boss spam his dash literally 20 times in under 30 seconds to get to me. It's a f*cking joke.

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад

      Ok, I’ll try to answer this but… first, I don’t really know which boss/attack is being described so I have to guess. And … I have no idea which boss this might be unless it’s a Nemesis like Kubacabra in which case he’s not meant to be easy.
      Next, I have to disagree that there are no mechanics to counter specific attacks. True, no build is an absolute master of everything so you will almost certainly encounter enemy types or situations where the game feels harder than you might expect.
      I’m not completely clear on how you would be “leaping over entire sections of map that would require 20 seconds of walking” so I can’t really respond to this.
      Where you say “NO one talks about” the aggressive bosses, do you mean you haven’t seen any of the online content about hard Grim Dawn bosses or do you mean nobody else is complaining about bosses “transforming into the Flash”. I’d agree with the latter - nobody else has ever said that, to my knowledge.
      Overall, from the comment, it sounds like you’re not enjoying the game. Nobody can force you to enjoy it and I’m sorry I can’t help resolve the cause because I don’t understand which boss(es) you’re talking about.

    • @Wintercourse
      @Wintercourse Год назад

      @@Arcadelife1 I am not talking about any specific bosses just the overall boss that gets aggroed off the screen. This happens in open world, shattered realm and crucible.
      For example sometimes I will be on a bridge and an ability like Mortar Trap, Aether ray or some long ranged ability will clip a skull boss from far away and he charges at me.
      However the pathway to get to me from where the damage clipped it is a ridiculous distance but the "charge" animation does not STOP until they hit you.
      So basically regardless of any character you are playing it seems kiting is 100% pointless unless its one of the few lumbering bosses that doesn't have this dash. I have even had the leap allow me to jump off the bridge even though it shouldn't and the boss dashes the whole entire path back again. Like the moment their dash slams into me I jump...and they dash again. Does dash just have a zero second cooldown and you cannot evade enemies.
      It's frustrating because unless it's a very specific boss I don't even see the point in cc in the game because of this spammable dash mechanic that is unavoidable regardless of what you do.
      I do enjoy the game, but this mechanic makes zero sense to me. Like the dash should only go so far, not forever and a day.

    • @Arcadelife1
      @Arcadelife1  Год назад

      @@Wintercourse This is fascinating, seriously, because I can’t honestly think of a single time when this happened to me ….. and I didn’t just kill the boss and move on. Sorry. But if I had to say how many times it had happened to me it would be low single figures. Sorry it’s causing you so much grief. If it’s any consolation, multiplayer is and always has been a glitchy mess but I still keep playing it because it’s so unintentionally funny.

    • @robolandon2787
      @robolandon2787 Год назад +1

      This is true; returning to places where you've died or dungeons you've had to exit for any reason means you might get spammed in many different ways. Being rushed like this by faster bosses happens a lot. You need debuff skills and maybe even a pet (some items give them). With my sorcerer, I wait until they're almost at "punching" distance and spam all my debuffs. This usually freezes or slows heroes or makes bosses more resilient to fire damage, for instance. Then, I just wallop them and rely on my hp regen per attack to take most of the damage and help me tank. You also have to get used to the "rhythm" of melee attacks; there is always a momement to step away, heal, and regroup, though they're very brief. I also use a shield spell that absorbs damage temporarily (forgot the name). As a ranged character I wait for the punch, move out of its way, debuff, then kite and shoot, and rinse and repeat. But you have to have an answer for that rush attack that can give you some space. Every class has some kind of debuff or defense/movement skill. It's not a perfect game, but the tools are there, just hard to find and recognize. This game does have a very deep learning curve as well as its janky elements and things like this are relatively "obscure".
