    Seriously, don't sleep on these mics! After watching this video I found a deal on the full set for only $50 because the mk2 version had just released. They are fantastic. Makes shooting live events a breeze because I can just hand a transmitter to the audio guy, he plugs that straight into the board, and I get ambient audio from the one on my camera. Works flawlessly if you don't need massive range. And unlike most competitors, they also work with the insta360 invisible mic mount! Just be wary of locations like concerts where a lot of wireless mics are being used.

    Thanks for your review. I have this set and carry it as a back up. The receiver has a headphone port which is so important. It's a good thing that you mentioned such an important feature which is. normally ignored in most reviews.
    But it would be better to say that only Deity and Rode (in their arrogance I would say) don't have a headphone port on the receiver. Literally all wireless kits I've tried or just checked online do have a headphone port on the receiver: Picogear, Saramonic, Comica, Synco, Godox, Hollyland, DJI, Mackie, 7ryms.

    While I agree with the value angle at the price point, I wouldn’t endorse the GoDox over DJI or the Comica XU.
    I understand some struggle more than others with budget, but with a little more saving you can have either on-unit recording (DJI) or cleaner channels for wireless (UHF off the Comica).
    Yes, you have to deal with some negatives (loss of convenience with the Comica’s lack of a charging case or buying lavs with the DJI) with either the DJI or Comica units, but audio is arguably the single biggest contributor to perceived production value.
    Personally, I recommend buying slowly and looking for open box, gently used, or refurbished gear while continuously saving rather than buying less expensive gear that makes it harder to get good final results.
    That’s not to say you’re wrong: you’re not. This is a solid review. I’m saying I would never recommend the GoDox, regardless of their impressive value.

      @markwiemels  2 года назад

      You can get this kit for $129 now, it’s not as good as the dji or rode, but it’s as good as the comica products I have tested. It’s a heck of a deal, and still reliable.

    • @buttsexandbananapeels
      @buttsexandbananapeels 2 года назад +1

      @@markwiemels $129 is a good price. My issue with anything in the 2.4 band is it’s only as reliable as your environment. I wouldn’t trust it without backup audio, which is why I’d go DJI over anything under $700 right now.
      I can cheat budgets a bit on lenses, but I wouldn’t do it with audio or lighting, especially when the differential is only about $200.
      Buy once, cry once.

    Have others experienced dropped signals? I honestly don't see much need for 50m range, but if it is dropping out at even short distances of 10m or less, that would be a significant issue.

      I have the mic kit now and have used it a few times, with great results, with the transmitter & receiver in close proximity. I just went ahead and did a quick test with the receiver plugged into my computer in my first-floor home office. I walk outside and around the house and then across the street without any loss of signal despite quite a few obstacles (walls, fence, etc.). At about 50m, with my back to my house I finally lost the signal, but as soon as I turned around so that my body was no longer in between me and where my house was down the street, I had a good signal again. I don't have the Rode or Deity or similar wireless units for comparison, but given that my receiver was INSIDE my house with me 50m+ down the street, I am fairly impressed.
