  • And nearly half (46%) of all workers surveyed-including nearly a third (29%) of C-suite execs-wouldn't recommend their company or profession to their children or any young person they care about. While employees, HR leaders, and C-suite leaders alike all said they wanted financial security for their kids, they all agreed they’d urge their children to pursue work that gives them the chance to care for and spend time with family, is personally meaningful and makes them fulfilled, and ensures a successful career path.
    If they could go back in time, more than half (53%) of global employees would choose a completely different profession, and 40% said they wish someone had warned them not to take their current job.

      That sounds so basic it is disturbing that we even need to ask that a Job provide enough for these things, but the housing market is to blame too.

    • @1Blackamerican
      @1Blackamerican  2 месяца назад

      You’re correct. It is disturbing that it’s not automatic that a job does more than keeping ppl afloat. As much as some companies and corporations pull in. They should be required to ensure that employees make more than enough to keep a roof over their heads and have reliable transportation. But, it’s not called modern slavery for nothing. They want you to NEED them. That’s how they keep you bound to them. You know when you hear lines in movies where an employer says jokingly, “I pay you too much” when they see their employee living n a nice house or driving a nice car? That isn’t a joke. Not to me, it’s not.

      Pie in the sky ideals.
      Beyond "cost of living" being a vairable concept.
      I have zero faith in peoples honesty about where their money is going.

    "We have deluded ourselves into believing the myth that Capitalism grew and prospered out of the Protestant ethic of hard work and sacrifice. The fact is that capitalism was built on the exploitation and suffering of black slaves and CONTINUES to thrive on the exploitation of the poor - both black and white, both here and abroad.”

    I got so fed up that I quit my in office web development job and took a leap of faith traveling to Southeast Asia. Was probably the dumbest and most wreckless risk I have ever done, but it paid off tremendously. My work life balance is a lot better, more freedom as a freelancer, and i'm no longer worried about bills because of the cost of living. I've noticed some clients and agencies like me more for being a digital nomad as well. Helps you stand out from 100s of boring applicants.

    if i didn't have it in me to hope and literally dream about a way to get out of working "jobs" every minute of every day I would cease to exist. If I can't morph myself into an intolerable day trading finance bro and retire before my 30's, I'll live in a van in the middle of nowhere. And this is coming from a workaholic. I love to work. I hate jobs. I should not and no one should have to have multiple jobs and still not be able to be building their life into one they can live without having to work for someone else. And, on top of that - all work is skilled work. And all work is undervalued. The fact that I am staking my future and desire to live on what is essentially learning to gamble is insane to me but it gets the job done lol

      In around two simple paragraphs. You’ve just summoned up how millions of people feel EVERYDAY. You’ve given me flashbacks of how I felt every morning that I had to wake up and, figuratively, punch a clock. It’s terrible. And it really is oppressive. These employers DO NOT care about their employees mental health in the least. 😔😣😖 🙏🏾

      The vid is about ALL Americans. Remember I said at the beginning of the vid that the article said that 40 something percent of Americans hate their jobs and wouldn’t wish it on their enemies? And, Since I do vids on Black American history. I specifically spoke to Black folks, too. But the primary reason for the vid is because MOST Americans hate their jobs regardless of race or ethnicity. Thanks. And I feel you with regard to how you feel about your job. Trust. I do. Thanks again.

      GOD bless your soul! I get it!! WE get it!!! Just keep documenting what’s being done and said against you and the favoritism that you’ve witnessed and that’s been told to you. Do your job not giving them a reason to use anything against you. Do this for at least 6 months or for as long as you’re on probation if your job has a probation period. Once your job’s probation is over or if you don’t have a probation period. When you’ve worked that job for at least 6 mos or more. Reach out to EEOC if you want to go that route. I strongly suggest that our ppl start hitting these racist and prejudice ppl where it hurts. Bring law suits against them for harassment and discrimination and emotional distress and racism. I hate hearing my ppl treated like this when all we want is to take care of ourselves and families!! Stay up!! We got this!! Trust!! And thank you for subscribing!! We appreciate it!! Please share the vid! Thanks again 🙏🏾☺️💯

    we work more hrs than every country that doesnt still use slaves, and pay for exp workers is less than the avg for starting in other countries, imagine avg american working 60 hrs a week when most countries ppl work 4 days and still get 6 weeks starting vacation. while here you got to work 15 yrs to even get a 4th week vacation....there is a reason we die 10 yrs sooner than most countries

      Slavery never ended. They’ve just decided to enslave every group. And look at the conundrum with medical ins. If you don’t have a good job that offers good medical ins, You’re messed up n the game. Most ppl stay stuck in a miserable job just because of the medical ins. It’s terrible. This country is the most evil of them all.

      I was waiting for the first person to say that. Some ppl actually do not like their jobs. And that is not indicative of someone being lazy. I didn’t like my job BUT guess what? I got up at 3 every morning, five days a week to do a job I didn’t like. And I was NOT late to work either. I bet you can’t say that you’ve never been late, clocking in at 8/9, huh? Lazy ppl don’t have jobs. And I can’t helped to think that you called him lazy because he’s black.

You have the opportunity to SEE more of the BS that gens before you overlooked or foolishly believed we needed to endure to try to capture this elusive “American dream.” The dream that seems to only be available to A certain group. It’s not good being stuck at a job you despise. Imagine what its doing to your psyche.
