Just to clarify, the contract they make with an administrator isn't to limit people, but to allow them to use shinsu. Normal people cannot use shinsu without a contract with a floor administrator. Only people who can do that are irregulars and without limit so for Baam, the contract wasn't going to benefit him, but instead limit him. That's why the administrator said "To you it's a shackle".

This is might be a dumb question but if that's the case why did Bam accept to be "shackled", he can use shinsu with a contract anyway so why not just keep using it?

To Clarify some of the stuff, that seems to confuse:
The Hirarchy of each floor is as following:
The Administrator( The Big Eye we saw at the last scene), each Floor has such a beeing, it can control all the Shinsu on it's Floor, you can basically call it god of the Floor.
-> It is some kind of being.
-> Every Regular has to make a Contract with this Administrator to be able to use Shinsu.
-> That's why it was so shocking for Lero Ro when Bam was using Shinsu at the End of the Crowngame without having a Contract.
The Ruler of the Floor is someone appointed by the Floor Administrator or by King Jahad. On the Current Floor this is Evankhell.
The Test administrator, someone appopinted by the Ruler of the Floor, which is in charge of the Test for regulars ( Hansung Yu, Coffee Guy :-))
And then there are Supervisors, like Lero Ro or Quant. These are Rankers which are hired by the Testadministrator and get payed to do this as a Job.
-> Thats where the Problem appears when you help an irregular:
You don't easily find a well payed Job as a Ranker if you have a bad reputation.
Very good precision; on another note, i would had about the Rak shrinking, which was funny as hell, in the webtoon, it's not a joke or a revenge thing, just that when you're this big you have to get smaller, at least out of combat. Not a big deal, but still weird, at least the scene was hilarious xD.
And there's Urek who also don't need concract with Administrator

@@jg2735 In the Webtoon Headon is called one of the oldest administrators, but in sense of testadministrator.
Im not 100% certain but i guess headon is a Ranker which was appointed to do his Job.

What they did wrong though is. The test supervisor (coffee guy). Reason he was shrunk was because rak ran into him when he just woke up and had his hair down. His hair wasn’t done in anyway.

Well one thing i wanted to stay that didn't was that the test administrator did circles around rak repeating the i didn't see you line.
John Porter yeah that sure never happened in the story. He just shrunk rak for running into him and after rak throwing a fit and calling him small. Only reason rak made that mistake was because the rak wasn’t aware he ran into the supervisor. And that’s why in the story rak acts scared and apologizes after seeing who he ran into and always even more afraid of the supervisor whenever they meet.
It wasn't Khun, he found the letter but didn't plant it.

@@안드루-l2r it's just a clothe, in manwha there's a scene where Ren/Yuga hanged it while he was in the common showers. though it's possible that they've killed the original yuga to infiltrate the test area.
@@metalsadman Plus I remember that when *spoilers* Kurudan kills Ren in the webtoon, Ren says "This is just a shell, my real body is in another place." I took that to mean that he was some sort of parasite controlling Yuga's body. I'd rather Yuga didn't actually die for this though.

The irregular is basically considered as the enemy of the Jahad.....cuz everytime an irregular has appeared it has caused chaos in the tower. So being accomplices with an irregular is a bad thing and it will put a target on you back.
I think it's more like there are feared because they're fucking rare and only a VERY few of them have appeared, and those ones wheres "monster", and they don't have to bend to the rules, so that makes them obviously a threat to the the tower and Jahad.

Especially since, if i'm not mistaken, we only know 4 iregulars: Jahad who should be the 1st, Urek and I don't remember the other one, who are basically known for being beast and the last one arrived Bam. So of course, just the fact that they don't have to respect the rules, it's a threat to him personally, and the more they advance the more it's dangerous.

I was a little disappointed with how the "irregular discussion" turned out. I felt that the way it happened in the manhwa better portrayed Khun's level of caring for Bam (e.g. the fact that he was willing to make himself look like a despicable person in order to convince everybody to help Bam) and Rak's true intelligence and understanding of others (e.g. he understood that Khun was acting and played along, and their convo after everyone else has left the room). I understand that they made the changes to cut down on the length of the scene, but at least to me, it loses the significance that it had towards Khun's character, Rak's character, and the relationship between them and Bam.

Completely agree! They just cheapened the whole scene for me. In the manhwa even I for a second was dumbfound, then the reveal with Rak was so heartwarming and just right in the feels. Here they made him dumber
Here's the thing. Irregulars are very rare and they bring great change to the tower. Change is not always welcomed by people who are relatively comfortable or who regards Irregulars as a threat. Being an accomplice of someone like that is very dangerous.

Since irregulars are extremely powerful and can shift the tower, they’re considered dangerous (specifically to Jahad) since he can’t really control them compared to the native tower peeps, that’s why it’d be bad to be labeled as an irregular accomplice

@@25thnightgojo94 So a long time ago, Zahard/Jahad and his 10 companions (also known as the 10 Great Warriors) came into the Tower from outside and subsequently started climbing the Tower. Afterwards, Zahard was named King and his 10 companions formed their own families thus becoming known as the 10 Great Families. The 10 companions are now known as the 10 Great Family Leaders. Does that help?

Yeah, Jahad is a confirmed irregular, just like Mazino or Baam. That's the main reason why they're dangerous.

The anime switches two terminologies up Administrators and Guardians so in the manga it is: 1. Guardians are the "Gods" of each floor like Headon and The Giant fish at the end of this episode who you make a contract with to control Shinso. 2. Administrators are the Rankers who were put there by the Floor master (on floor 2 it is Evankhell) who were chosen by the current Regime. The thing is Zahard and his companions came to the tower and climbed it. At that time there were no Administrators only Guardians test (in the Anime Administrators Test) so they could only take their test but after Zahard climbed the Tower he set up a kingdom and rules with the help of the Guardians so he put on each floor a Ranker and a Floor Master who Adminster Test which are way easier than Guardian Tests. The Test Bam is taking now is a Test given by Guardians like Zahard did in his time.
In the Manwha the term Guardian is only used twice during Season 1 and It is then translated as Administrator for the rest of the story. The anime didn't switch anything up. Just like the Manwha, "Administrator" and "Test Administrator" are two different things. The anime is using the current translations from the beginning.

Jahad basically set rules after he became king and Irregulars are kind of the rule breakers so if they help Bam, they'll be branded as rebels and can be hunted by the ruling power.

The soundtrack for this anime is amazing. The reason why they were more shocked about bam being an irregular is because the previous irregulars that entered were overwhelmingly powerful and bam is really weak compared to them. He has potential but he doesnt know anything about the power system.
It's supposed to be mentioned and emphasized with Lero ro little talk he had with bam earlier when bam asked about irregulars.
If you didnt notice and need a better understanding of the devastation; king Jahad is an irregular.
If (when) you read the webtoon, it's split into so far 3 seasons, season 1 of the anime will most likely cover the entirety of season 1 of the webtoon. So if you don't want to spoil the anime, you can just read all of season 1 (although there will still be spoilers of just the stuff that is forshadowed or mentioned in the webtoon that isn't in the anime yet).
Season 1 is kinda considered just a prologue, as the whole season takes place on floor 2 (the floor of tests). Season 2 starts the actual climb of the tower.
I'll try to summarize the Tower without spoilers,
Headon is the Guardian of the entire tower, but each floor of the tower has its own Guardian, it decides if you are worthy of using shinsu on its floor via a contract, they are not affiliated with Jahad they are part of the Tower itself.
King Jahad is the strongest regular to climb the tower, and established a kingdom within the tower. The party members who helped Jahad climb were made nobles and established the Great families, Khun's dad being one of them.
What makes irregulars like Bam dangerous to the empire is they can use massive amounts of shinsu without making any contracts, becoming nearly unstoppable.
There are also factions in the tower that want to tear down Jahad's Kingdom, and might want to manipulate Bam to their advantage.

The idea behind "you get to climb the tower quickly but you'll be his accomplices" is less of like "you get to take the easy route" and more of "an Irregular will carry you so hard that you don't even have to try, but you'll be permanently stuck attatched to him."

if i remember correctly he takes the tests as a "regular" but in reality is an "ilregular", i think that was how it was, right? it has been a while since i read that part

as stated at anime 1st episode headon says he is an irregular so he takes the administrator test (fight a pregnant eel tht normally appear at floor 20) and now he gonna ask this big whale to take another administrator test in order to help rachel / thts gonna be awesome to see the reaction here the test not hard like 1st floor ;)

Remember, passing the tests on this floor doesn't let them climb the REST of the Tower, it just let's them proceed to the next floor. The tower is a long way up

Like Shibisu says at one point in this episode, Irregulars are considered as beings that bring chaos to the tower, threatening the the hierarchy of the entire tower, like King Jahad and the Great families. Therefore, irregulars are normally viewed as the "enemy" to the royalty. So being related, or helping them out gives a person bad reputation. Meaning most other humans and beings in the tower would refuse to associate with them.

Irregulars are so incredibly uncommon that nobody would have reason to suspect Bam, even given his natural ability to control Shinsu.
The reason why they were suprised about Baam being an Irregular, and why Baam didnt tell them was left out in the anime. But When Baam met Yuri, she told him to keep the fact that he was an irregular secret, because it would put him in danger if he told anyone.

Rak is an ancient species, the 'NATIVE ONE'. He can control stones in further future. He also can use a spear of the ancient spices without any limitations. This story will come out in the chapter: Yama's cage.
I'm pretty sure you get branded as a traitor by Jahad if you help an irregular (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
you are not a traitor but you considered a threat to the king since Irregulars are not bound by the contracts made by Administrators/Guardians.remember what they said in this episode, Jahad became king because the Administrators allowed it and also there is a very special contract in place,dont know if you read the webtoon, and only an Irregular can defy that contrat which allows Jahad to be dominate the Tower
so the 'top' of the tower as we know right now is the kingdom of Jahad, which is mainly where all the ranker are. Even if you reach the 'top', being associated with a irregular will probably make you an outcast from other ranker.
Making a contract with the administrator isn’t to keep tabs on people. It’s to allow wave controllers to use shinsu
So, Irregulars are special. Like Shibisu said, their appearance is always followed by a big upheaval in the tower, so even though Irregulars aren't inherently evil, they're not exactly looked at with pure excitement. Being associated with that will have big perks AS WELL AS big cons going forward. Like Lupa said, I suggest when this season is over, you all read the first 75-ish chapters of the webtoon, as well as check SIU's blog. I'd say his only failure in this series is requiring the reading of the blog to get the FULL scope of the lore here.
At the webtoon, Serena never appeared again, because she didn't pass the tag test. This scene with Shibisu, never happened there. Her last scene was in a meeting (party) of some people who passed or not, and were passing several flashbacks in the form of "photographs" in front of her. Probably, a moment for her reflection.
Hansung yu did gave Hoh the note only because he wanted Bam to stop climbing the tower because he is a Irregular Hansung yu know that because if you back to ep 5 Bam use shinsu without making a contract with the Administrator because Irregular's can still use shinsu even if they didn't make a contract

A shortcut to the top of the tower may take more than 50 years (which is considered very short for climbing to the top). Jahad wants to stop any threat from getting up the tower, and will do a lot to have them killed

The reason they shocked is there is only 16 or 17 irregular in the history of tower. First irregular was Jahad and all irregulars was so powerfull and bringed chaos to tower.
Y'all are gonna enjoy the webtoon. The anime changed up so many plot points as well as panels of comedy/personality building of characters.
Oh and I think it was supposed to be mentioned in this episode but there is more in depth explanation of how kuun knew hoh was up to something and how he managed to make a plan for everything.

To some people that didn't understand it was not khun that put that letter khun was trying to find who put that letter, and he walk into Hoh room and found the paper on Hoh's room and then he copied with his bag. 😁
Originally I wanted Rachael to die just to see what they would do to Bam, but now that she is paralyzed I like the way they have linked his Motivation into carrying her up the tower, as before it irritated me that he kept chasing after her even though she abandoned him (which she apologised for in this episode). So ye... this episode is probably my favourite.

I don't think they will include this later on because well, they have already skipped quite a lot so I will write it here:
In the webtoon before Lero ro and Hansung entered the room they had a more in depth conversation about irregulars (which the anime skipped -_-) were they talked about why irregulars were such a threat to the tower. They mention Mazino which is the leader of a group, that is formed by very powerful people who oppose the king. They also mention another irregular ( I won't name in case it's brought up later) that practically entered the tower and massacred a lot of powerful rankers under Jahad. Particularly after the last event, the floor of tests ( Evankhell's floor) was implement, to keep the dangerous people outside the tower. That is why if you help an irregular you are in a way branded a traitor against the King.
Mazino does not opposes Jahad, he simply doesnt care for that position.in exchange Jahad also doesnt interfere with Urek business
It's a shortcut to get to the 3rd floor and not the top of the tower. If they take the Administrator's test, that test will be the last of the 2nd floor; otherwise, they have to take more tests. On the other hand, once they get higher up the tower, their affiliation with the irregular may hinder their progress.
Khun knew that bam was an irregular because he literally braced bam for taking the administrator’s test by saying “the road ahead is very rough”

Irregualrs are powerful. Everytime an irregular appears, things change in the Tower. So irregulars are seen as an anamoly. If y'all fiending for answers, read the webtoon. Livestream it if you want. S1 of the webtoon is between 1 - 78.
So they are stuffing 78 chapters into 13 eps, which matches the full season S1 of TOG.
FYI, the rules of the tower are not like laws that can be broken and you merely become a criminal for doing do. They are more like the laws of physics that CAN'T be broken, which means that irregulars are not a normal existence, since they can indeed break the "rules".

You're right that the floor of tests is to weed out those that are dangerous to the tower, but the Test Administrator (coffee guy) didn't set up Hoh to weed him out. It was to weed Bam out because If Hoh had succeeded in killing Rachel then Bam wouldn't climb the tower. Coffee guy knows a lot more than he lets on.

- Are the creatures that the administrator and the spy used to fight, the same (respective) creature that greets people when they first get introduced to Shinsu. And is size indicative of the power of someone (Bam's creature looks massive)

As a TOG manhwa reader, I was afraid that they were skipping over some parts and explanations. But it seems some of them can totally be skipped over because you guys are always hitting the nail in the head.

Think about it this way, all the irregulars in the tower besides Bam and Rachel (yes she is one too, but she doesn't really fit the bill of an irregular) have been insanely powerful, they are pretty much the strongest people in the tower. Jahad (irregular) being all cozy on his throne as a king does not like the idea of other insanely strong people entering the tower since they may affect the tower one way or another and change the current state of things in his kingdom. This is why they say that it's easier to climb the tower with an irregular, because it's like having a OP character on your team.
I would highly recommend reading the webtoon at the same time as watching the show (red up to where the show leaves off) that’s what I do to not miss any info and it really helps. The webtoon has a lot more information on everything

They wouldn’t have realized or even thought of the possibility of Bam being an Irregular, because of how rare they actually are. Even if Bam actually told them that he was one, they wouldn’t have believed him. The actual Tower itself is billions of times bigger than Earth itself (as a reference) and there have only ever been a few Irregulars in the history of the Tower...

The problem with being bam accomplish is that if he passes the test then he would be seen as a legitimate threat to king jahad's rule so you would be putting a target on your back by every would be assassin for jahad while also doing the regular test to climb the tower. Just a quick note i have not read the online stuff and i don't have any spoilers to give this is just my thoughts on the episode based on the anime alone.
