Whoever buys Ram/Jeep/Dodge is going to get a great deal. They are buying at the rock bottom of the value. 4 years ago, the value of the Ram/Jeep/Dodge brands under FCA was massive. Now, it has to be worth so much less. Very interesting that Stellantis ran it into the ground then wants to sell versus selling back when it was max value.

Stellantis is moving towards vehicles that won't sell. Some may be badly designed and built, some may be simply overpriced. Some might be hybrid but they are way behind in EV models.

@@CTECH-REVIEW The Ram charger, a hybrid for sure. But have you examined the numbers? The maximum output for the generation is fed to fairly small batteries. If a typical weekender hooks up the boat and heads up the mountain... after about 50-60 miles it will run out of battery power and end up limping along about 30 mph until you get to the top of the grade, If a person from Ontario California for example were headed to Silverwood Lake - how long do you think the trip would take climbing Cajon pass?

I bought a ram last year. More than happy with my purchase but i wouldn't say my experience is typical. Ram finally catching up on reliability but now they are more expensive than the other brands. I can say right now with a fair level of confidence my next truck will be a gm product. Cause im not paying thousands for brand loyalty. I want the product thats reliable. That fits my needs only, no extras. And i want it for the cheapest price. I doubt byd gonna give me that. Tbh i wasnt looking for a Ram it just came up and i got a new work truck with a pentastar for only 33500.

Ram would be pretty easy to replace. People would just slide over to ford or GM. Jeep is a much tougher call. It’s iconically American. I had one when it was owned by American Motors. I think it would anger people to know it’s now owned by China. Although if they began selling it at so low of a price where they’re way less than they are now I could definitely see people buying them. Americans have no loyalty when the deal is too good to pass up.

@@TheMonkdad Hey, some perspective is needed. MANY WW02 vets were angry that VW was sold in the USA. Ditto, WW02 Pacific veterans would NEVER buy a Japan gas car [or any product]. Well your already wrong Stellantis is not headquartered in France they are headquartered in Hoofddorp Netherlands. The move away from the Hemi to the Hurricane is partly EPA based, but mainly it is a world market move. There are countries that have a 3.0 liter cap on engine displacement. As far as China buying Ram Chrysler or Dodge. I’m sure they would love to own it but Your assumption that Stellantis would want to sell one of their best assets is flawed. Yes they are having quality control issues but that can be fixed.

Hurricane I6>Hemi V8, and prices are chugging along right there with inflation (it’s your salary that’s not keeping up). Pickup trucks are the notable exception on getting way more expensive, but that’s happened over about 20ish years as they went from being undesirable work vehicles to family cars.

This writer, no friend to the Communist system, these types spent 18 months of my time in VietNam trying to kil me, has a comment. I HOPE BYD does buy out Stelantis . One, the taxpayers would not, again, have to bail out a USA car company. Two; BYD builds some fine quality, well priced EVs. They would compete with the current EVs sold here, most of which only Al Gore could afford[have you seen the price if the EV Silverado!!?]. And they would force the other car makers to compete or die=free market system. For the record books; this writer is on his 02nd EV--a 2019 Kia Niro BEV. A used EV price fits this pensioners budget. He would buy a new BYD 'Seal' should they make them in the USA at 'peasant prices'.

It would make me more than happy to see Ford and GM struggle as they try to keep pace with a company that can deliver something actually affordable.
