I had a laptop worth of 24000 (Samsung Notebook) bought in 2014 for study. after four years of continuous use after 4 years in 2018 the laptop stopped working. So I took the drive out of the laptop. in 2022 i decided to connect the drive to my smartphone and it still works fine and the data stored on it is still fine. the drive had water damage few years ago due to raining and i thought it wouldn't work. But works nicely till now. It is from Toshiba brand. Not external drive but from the laptop. it's my personal experience for Toshiba Brand.

Please which 4 of these eHDD are best? I only want for storage files and longer lifespan so I don't want to waste my money buying that last for a year or months
I had seagate for many yrs mainly for gaming backup etc. Works well and no problem so far
I bought 3 wd , all failed to unlock and put me in a bad and serious situations due to loss of data
currently i am using 2 of Toshiba over the last 2 years and they seems to be okay so far
WD Hard disks will work till the warranty period only after that they won't detect and stopped functioning.I have very very bad experience with WD Hard disks 2 times
I have a 2yrs old passport WD and now it's clicking and unavailable to detect, all my important file now are gone, same with my 3.5 internal WD hdd. Very vad experience with their product.

@@zenargaming1257 There are videos on RUclips on how to repair your hard drive. Esp if it has the clicking sound....do a search. for repairing external hard drive with clicking sound.

I have 3 of them one died and one is still kicking 7 years later the the other one is 9 years now thinking of a new one Toshiba or seagate 4tb to back up one the 2 older drives and repurpose the oldest one

My last WD external hard drive has poor corners that seem not to fit just right. Does not look sleek like the Sea Gate does. I have had trouble with all of them. I think I'm going with SSD next time around. Less moving parts!

i buy my first 1TB Seagate Slim in 2015 and still working till now 2022 just dont drop it and it will be fine now i buy again Seagate brand hdd cause is affordable the 4TB BackUp Plus and 5TB One Touch..

A bit unfair to state that the WD pretty does not have have USBC or lightning ports as I am pretty sure that none of these drives have USBC or lightning ports
I do hdd repairs and all of the issue are with WD, I have 2 hdd with WD, 1 external and 1 internal, both are not working now, I need to check them and repair them myself. My sony external is been with me for 10yrs no issue until now, but my WD did not even last 3yrs

thanks for your comment, In my view WD my passport is good choice for 2TB HDD because it works long life compare to other model or brand but comes to extra features and technology which it is normal. This information are getting from people own experience and reviews. thanks
