I am testing out two AliExpress 3D printed saddles. The Ryet 3D, which cost me $68.62 and the Zeius 3D which cost $74.97. I wanted to see if they are a viable and affordable alternative to the $300 to $500 3D saddles made by the big companies.

I've used the Ryett Carbon saddle outside only, i found it to be really well built, but for me it was just not comfortable, maybe it's just my sit bones but i took it out on a 100km ride and on our (not so) lovely potholed British roads it felt like a jackhammer to the nethers, on the rare occasion where i found a stretch of perfectly undamaged tarmac it actually felt quite good, delivered very little vibration and felt decently comfortable. I'd recommend to anyone riding outdoors in a country that can afford to pave the potholes and properly tarmac their roads. But for me the search continues! i also got it on sale for something like £36, so for a carbon 3d printed saddle you can't really ask for more. Especially since the alternative is a selle italia/fizik/s works that will cost over £300, it's worth trying for yourself since they are so specific to individual anatomy.

I used the ryet carbon for a year before selling it with the bike. Michigan roads were often too rocky and bumpy to enjoy this saddle, but my butt enjoyed it when I bikepacked across arkansas. They have very smooth road surfaces there. I am going to spring for a Brooks soon on my current touring bike.

I bought the Ryett saddle, so far is an awesome saddle, I ridden 60 miles no problems, I paid $47 on AliExpress. I refuse to pay $400 dollars for a saddle, it’s ridiculous. I’ve owned SMP GLIDER, Prologo saddles and the Ryett was way lighter and comfortable 👍

I find it, the rare exception, that after receiving a product from AliExpress, the low price isn’t discovered to be twice its value. Originally, I thought to myself, how can they produce and ship for this low price? Then I discovered, that this product, was their scrap bin contents, that couldn’t be sold. As long as they receive more than their super low shipping cost (slow boat from China), they were ahead of the game. Since a consumer could never cost effectively return anything, there is effectively no warranty and you are stuck with the subpar, barely functional almost unusably items. Just landfill fodder.

I was already predicting ballon tires would be fastest on gravel hence advantageous on rough country roads = they WERE. Question: Did they prefer normal pressure 32psi or highest pressure 55psi? Had they rolled faster 30psi as I'd hoped i'd then have run thm 23psi.

Continental did 59.55 full throttle run point A to point B run.
Big Apple 2.35" 55psi then proceeded 2beat Continental coastdown pavement by 6' 6" @a LONGER stopwatch 2mailbox, strangely enough, of 131:13
Apple 55psi recorded fastest2 mailbox time by far of 125:42. (Slowest was Schwalbe 1.75 Marathon Plus 30psi @139.42)
      Full throttle runs:
Big Apple was fastest @ FELT the fastest @57:01, 57:76
Schwalbe slowest 102:41 55psi& strangely, it went faster 1minute with only 30psi.
      Continental recorded 58:42 30psi.
So basically here we conclude skinniest Continentals supple 128 TPI 1.75" carcass was indeed fast pavement recorded least max coastdown on gravel as also I expected& big Apple by far lomgest coadtdown also as I predicted, was hoping. We discover Big Apples durable heavier stiffer 67TPI thread count in conjunction with highly elastic supple sidewall thrived on HIGHER PRESSURES. It recorded max coastdown beat ALL tires both on pavement AND on the brutal coarse HIGH speed downhill viscious insanely dangerous gravel run.
We found that Big Apple recorded fastest uphill pavement full throttle stopwatch run@ 57.01 seconds. Versus 102:41 Schwalbe@ 55psi run. Proving here also that Schwalbe most likely doesnt prefer higher pressures bcuz Schwalbe recorded a 101:43 full throttle run with only 30psi.
