Luke, thank you for taking the time to thoroughly test the durability of these wheels by exposing them to the rigors of riding in the real world. I see so many RUclips cycling channels only covering the unboxing, initial impressions, and testing for only a short honeymoon period. Most reviews are just fluff and esoteric in nature that are only posted solely to generate revenue and likes. You going the extra mile sets your channel apart from the others.

Thank-you so much! Yeah I felt like these wheels deserved some decent mileage through them. With a quick ride and review, you can get 95% of the picture with stuff like this, but it's these long term reviews that really separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of how these cheaper parts really perform.

Thanks to your first video on these and hundreds of positive accounts about them I ordered myself some 82mm wheels for my tri bike for Ironman racing. These will go for a long time. No sense in spending 2k on a set of dt Swiss for 3 races, dozens of hours of indoor training and key sessions out and about for an average rider. They arrived at my doorstep in Germany after about 3 weeks and I’m happy with them. Elite wheels forgot my spare hub and nipples but they arrived at my door within 12 days. I have the same wheelset and also got them in 2020. I’ve had 1 relatively hard crash and bottomed the wheels out multiple times. No issues with trueness or dents. The orange seal isn’t the best and I killed the bearings in the rear wheel with foaming degreaser. That was the only issue. I also have to say the customer service was fantastic from the seller. I’ve put 4,000km on them and would happily recommend them.

14:12 I want to high-five the rabbit. On a serious note, it's always good to see long term testing of products like this because most reviews will only cover the immediate experience of using them, and as us cheapskates know the real problems happen a few months down the line. I'm tempted by these even though I only have an older bike but I don't know if it's worth swapping out my Mavic Aksiums...

I bought a set of these Elite wheels shortly after you got yours @tracevelo I got them for around £240 on a promo and never had to pay any import charges too 👌😂 only issue I had with them, is that I got them for a Giant Defy disc bike which uses q/r axles. This meant I ordered them with the q/r end caps. However, the rear wheel would not fit the dropouts correctly on the frame. Basically, the tolerances for their q/r end caps were too short in length. In the end I ordered shims to put onto the axle before fitting the end caps. Since then zero issues. The freehub is fully serviceable like a dt swiss freehub so those bearings are replaceable.
Like you I changed them all to those Dunlop bearings and r use a product called oildag on the pawls and axle. Wheels spin lovely and smooth.
Also covered several thousand summer miles on them and had no issues at all. Converted them last year to tpu tubes too and using conti gp5000 28mm tyres and the ride quality is superb. 😎
    Another awesome video. 👌

And this lengthy and thorough review has convinced me that a pair of Drive 40D wheels may be in order for a new SuperSix EVO build I'm doing. The sound was so loud I actually ended up putting grease in to muffle the noise a bit...it sounded like I was being chased by an angry nest of wasps everywhere! 😆 I'm happy with the Vels so far, although they haven't made me any faster than the stock wheels, they do look the part on my Speccy Tarmac, which is the most important thing! 🥖🥖🥖I did buy a pair of those last year and they are truly awesome. They don't put spare spokes anymore, but the communication with seller was nice and fast and they can sell spares for $1 per unit.
    The best $300 upgrade ever.

The freehub sounds exactly the same as Vel (sigma sport) wheels i got last year they can be herd in the next county. £400 UK for a 50mm deep set. Bought them for my winter bike for Autumn/spring but haven't bothered swapping them out. Running them tubeless.

I bought my last carbon wheelset from DH Gate. I loved the price, and when we were wrapping up the order the WONDERFUL customer service rep asked me if I wanted custom graphics. That’s when I discovered I was buying DIRECTLY from Carbon Speed Cycle! I got a great price and fantastic customer service for wheels that are better made and BOMBPROOF compared to the factory Shimano the bike shipped with.

Luke there's a new alternative for roadbike electric mech, wheel top eds tx..... It does look superior compared to Ltwoos erx but appearances are always deceiving, and plus non of those reviews about it are detailed like so I'm hoping your next video will be about it........... Bermpeak has reviewed the same mech from the same brand(mtb mech) yet this one is for roadbikes, and I think your the best at reviewing rb parts.............
