Best $12 I've spent on VR. Just took the jump on the QGO a couple weeks ago and it really is crazy how much better things look and run. Playing SynthRiders on High resolution and maxed framerate is fantastic. Even newer games like Witchblood (new to Quest 3) look SO much better. I was not super impressed with how some of the games looked before but now they really pop. And having the option to go full out Graphics mode on some games versus maxed framerate on others and any combination of both is awesome.
For anyone else having trouble in the Mobile VR Station app, you might have to click "Configure Scoped Storage" twice: once as is shown in the video and another time at the bottom of the screen when you see a bunch of warning messages about some type of workaround.

THIS video here is HANDS DOWN the best video for my style of learning & following. I mean, you recorded the progress IN ACTION in the first-person as if I was in your own headset and watching everything. Bro, that was amazing. Hands down best video. This is a great tutorial on how to this up. However, I was failing with it getting rights to change the ADB setting and accepting the code. I initially setup my Quest 3 with my Facebook credentials BUT when I went to setup my developer account I used a different account. I had to add that account in Profiles in the Account Center in the Meta app, once I completed that task, I was able to modify the 'Headset settings' on my device and turn on Developer Mode. Then I used the generated code for Success. Thanks for this.
I was searching for a setup guide for the quest 3!!! Your guide is very helpful just to add that at the end it want to enable accessibility setvice to work. Thanx!!!
Some steps are different but this tutorial was still really helpful and this method is still working. Mobile VR station will always have something wrong with it but with this it isn't a mod so it works. You don't need to register as a quest developer anymore if I'm not mistaken, just toggle the setting on the app
Great video love you have put the word out there some more for this brilliant app. I bypassed the whole Oculus dev account thing btw and use QGO without issue. The bit with the code from settings where you have to click "about" repeatedly put mine in dev mode without an account or the mobile phone app part. Q3 it's basically the same as mobile phone it turned out once you have access to the android menus! Was also able to install SideQuest in a similar way (I did need to connect to android phone to fully open the sidequest settings)
@MalikethSolos mine still works fine. However, even the developer found it curious that this worked to point out that he had me providing screenshots of it al working correctly. So honestly, I dunno if it would work or not and I just had some random fortunate bug. Be interested to hear if it does though. 👍

@ Definitely looks better and sharper. Depending on the game it's more noticeable. Asgards wrath for example was always beautiful so you won't notice as much but other games like batman you will

One thing should be pointed out at least in the videos you showed, is that the new graphics changes you made caused slight lagging in frames. And that was on a golf game. Not sure if it would be worse in an fps game or not.
I had the same issue. I went back and ensured I had developer mode turned on via the URL provided, but the Developer mode toggle was off in my app. I turned it on, restarted my headset and it appeared. All in all, it took me about 30 minutes to install, I had to go back and redo a couple of steps.

on the left side of the library screen there are options for all and just applications. click the box with 4 blocks and then click the drop down menu, it should then have an option for "unknown sources"

Speaking with Meta's support i came to know that they does not support all methods equally in all countries for developer priviliges unlock (dev account). Fortunally i watched this video before buying the app, i didn't know i need dev priviliges for the optimizer app. Since from my country i can't enable dev account, i'm out. Pretty disappointing.
Hey I did this and it's really amazing, thank you for the details! The only thing is there's a noticeable square on my screen, kinda like peripheral vision, where it's blurry on the outside, but when I look the square moves and it's clear. What's that about? It's noticeable if I look at clear spots, but not if I'm in a detailed area. As well do you cast? Is there a way to get rid of the bottom bar with the volume and maximize button? Please and thank you!
2025.01 worked fro me too (iphone app was having issues changing device setting to dev, so changed to iPad) then all good. I didn't realise those profiles don't work on all games. the ones I was expecting it to work for you need to create you own. Are there any tutorial on tuning tips (so you don't have the settings too hight needlessly and drain and heat the device more than needed)
Quest Games Optimizeron on higher resolution cause lower FPS and the games not are smooth what can be easily to see in those examples from 2:55. The graphic on the factory settings on meta quest 3 are good enough to play standalone looking at the price how much you can buy them for, compared to how much you would have to pay just for a PC to play in higher resolutions.
At 11 minutes and 50 seconds it shows to go to the Download folder......I've done every single step up to that point but nothing happens, I cannot access the Download folder, even though I know the QGO file, along with some other videos I saved, are in that folder. Bummer!
I'm getting stuck at the step where you click on 'open settings' on solution 2 when trying to enable ADB. I click on open settings and it briefly opens a settings window but that quickly disappears (closes) and it goes back to the same page on QGO. Anyone else had this issue?
@@brandonmolnar9115I did sort it out, closed every other window apart from the QGO one and then when I clicked on open settings it opened the settings window and it stayed there.

Not the same. As you are not overclocking anything. You are simply allowing the game to attempt a higher resolution. Overclocking would be altering the GUP/CPU clock this does not do that. It just tells the game hey try opening in a higher resolution (but one that is in specs of the device) and run at a higher frame rate (but again one that is ok in device specs). If the programmers were future proofing they could have simply added this option in the settings. Think of it like this imagine I made a game when 640x480 resolution was best. Now we have 1920x1080, for instance, so we force the game to open in that resolution instead. Now you are taxing the CPU/GPU more and this might affect its lifespan but this would be the same as if you opened a really modern VR game that uses all the Q3 capabilities for instance.

It makes a small difference on quest 2, however it's weird, I don't really understand which render resolution would be native resolution. And shouldn't increasing render resolution just reduce the framerate, so there's no point in choosing 120hz, cause the display will just show 60hz or something.

Does the QGO app still work after a power cycle? I prefer to power off the headset in between vr sessions and the fact that I have to go through this tedious setup every day has been the reason I’ve never bought into this method.
QGO has options where the app will start when you boot up your Quest. So it will appear instead of your normal library and when you start games from QGO you can then launch them with whatever profile you want. So you just do all the installation like I show here once and then you use QGO to launch your games. The dev has made it as easy to use as possible.
I have a question my family has 2 headsets a quest3s which is mine and my old quest 2 my brothers now use but I have 2 accounts the one they use which used to be mine and has most of my games and my alternate account which I now use on the 3s if I buy this will I be able to use it on all devices and accounts or just on my quest 3s?
You can family share to both headsets. Buy a game once, play it on both headsets online together at the same time. It’s awesome. Playing contractors showdown with my dad and only payed $18
I restarted my headset and started from the Wireless debugging part again and everything worked. Was getting the same issues as you. I didn't have a validate button either.

The game that QGO does AMAZING on and to me makes it work the $12 100% is PowerWash Simulator. I love the PC version of the game and was excited for the VR version. But when the VR version came out, it was locked at 40fps (and still is) with horrible resolution (probably close to 720p or lower by the looks of it). with QGO, I am able to play it with crisp graphics and 120hz now and it lives up to the desktop version. I just got QGO yesterday, and when I got home from work, I was playing PWS for close to 6 hours straight without realizing it. Some times I wonder if getting the BOBOVR M3 Pro and a few of their new batteries was a good idea that can let me play continuously for an indefinite period of time as I will never run out of battery
QGO is a great app to have, especially for the Quest 3. The extra power of the XR2 Gen 2, the higher resolution displays and pancake lenses allow games to look really sharp and crip; and in my opinion, when it comes to VR, visual clarity is king.
@@Maraksot78 I whole heartedly agree with that. I can see why developers don't do this from the start as the build in battery would be drained super quick. But like my other comment said, with an endless supply of batteries that can give the Quest 3 all the power it wants, I will never run out of battery and will crank everything to 11. Worse case scenario, I only get 1.5 hours on each of my extra batteries. Only takes 1.5 hours to charge the batteries, and I have 3 of them.
Followed the steps its saying im not in developer mode when my quest is, saying I need to re-enable it from the mobile quest app? But I would need to create a meta developer account which they want private details and needs to wait for verification?
Yes, it works on Quest Pro and as far as I know it is capable of adjusting settings on all Quest games. Of course be aware that the CPU/GPU in the Quest are only capable of so much so ypu don't want to push settings too high or else it will negatively effect game performance.
As far as I know in order to play games with the improved settings, you need to launch your games from the QGO menu. There is a setting in QGO for it to launch when you first boot up your Quest, so you don't have to go into the unknown apps menu every time, which makes using QGO much more convenient.
Great instructional video, cant activate Developer Mode on Quest 3 in Meta Horizon App. Everything else kicked off just as described in video. Optimizer tells me I need to activate Developer Mode and even directs me to MHA to enable Developer Mode.
So, "Maraksot78", I have a question on a different VR topic. Have you tested the AMD beta drivers that enable AFMF 2? I was hoping it would work in VR (for FS 2020 in particular), but I don't think it does. If you have and get different results, could you let me know what your settings were? Thx dude!
Does the Graphics Boost work for the entire headset or just inside the Games ? ? I know with the Quest 2 I was able to boost the entire headset .... thanks.
Kinda seems to be a 'per-app' basis. Like the home environments and menus can look MUCH better with maxed HD settings, but it brings the framerate down, to me not a huge problem since I only notice it when scrolling in the menus. I don't think it would do anything to the quality of the videos being pushed by something like RUclips or Amazon, though the landing page for Amazon does look much better.
Keep at it, I also had problems and almost gave up. Make sure on the "Allow wireless debugging on this network" you must select the bottom option "Always allow on this network" instead of "Allow" at 14:50. Make sure "Wireless Debugging" is on. And on Settings there was the option to delete prior pairing, can't remember where. You might have to delete and reinstall QGO then reboot but it's definitely worth the effort, Golf+ and other apps greatly improved.

still cant get to work developer settings on meta app on phone says have to create and verify my account yet this has all been done and still wont give option to toggle on in meta app

I only have the option for Solution 1 (there's no code input for Solution 2). When I enter the code in Solution 1, it asks me to either reenter the code or restart the headset and try again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@ I finally got mine working by downloading side quest on my laptop and then just hooking it up and allowing de bugging. Takes like two minutes. Plus side quest on PC is free.
How to know if is it working? Because I did all steps and still got the red banner but with no options, just terling me i need to enable developer mode. Wich i did before and all steps
Well, i know its working because is diaplayng it sayng the Hz and info on cpu and gpu. It is very good the difference!! Only got a litle warm up on the quest. But still im seeing a red banner stayng i got to enable developer mode, but i aint doing nothing, its working, can toggle on or off, or automatic on the self software. Amazing thanks
...but there is one "small thing" that needs to be said: Yes, it's true, with just a few clicks and settings in the app you can set the graphics for standalone games and applications on the Quest to be absolutely "sharp" and "color-brilliant" just as you had dreamed (and you'll find out how it should be from the factory), BUT... ...if you set it up LIKE THAT, then your Quest will have sucked up ALL the POWER from your additional battery AND the Quest like a vacuum cleaner within half an hour to an hour (!)! And the thing (especially the LCD panels under the lenses!) gets really, really warm! - HOT! So, either you're plugged into the power grid or you're carrying lots and lots of additional batteries! 🥵💯🥵💦🥵💫
@@VRRat Link is garbage compared to Virtual Desktop. Do you use the Meta cable? The cheap knockoffs dont really work it seems. Im having a hard time justifying almost a $100 for a cable..

It really does make a huge difference on Quest 3 doesn't it? It does ok on Quest 2, but it really does take things to the next level on Quest 3.

So I’ve followed every step and when I go to the library there is no unknown sources folder to open or app to find and open.
I don't remember for sure, but I think you need to reboot your Quest after installing for it to then show up.

no you're not "cracking"/"jailbreak" the Headset, you just do what devs could do , but they don't.
I got it recently and it's a really nice tool for the Quest 3. It's a bit fiddly, though.

The graphic on the factory settings on meta quest 3 are good enough to play standalone looking at the price how much you can buy them for, compared to how much you would have to pay just for a PC to play in higher resolutions.

At 11 minutes and 50 seconds it shows to go to the Download folder......I've done every single step up to that point but nothing happens, I cannot access the Download folder, even though I know the QGO file, along with some other videos I saved, are in that folder. Bummer!

I'm getting stuck at the step where you click on 'open settings' on solution 2 when trying to enable ADB. I click on open settings and it briefly opens a settings window but that quickly disappears (closes) and it goes back to the same page on QGO. Anyone else had this issue?

@@brandonmolnar9115I did sort it out, closed every other window apart from the QGO one and then when I clicked on open settings it opened the settings window and it stayed there.
Had the same issue. Just kept closing everything, restarted and then it stayed. Now when I enter the code nothing happens.

Isn't this the same as overclocking a pc? Wouldn't this reduce the life of the cpu/gpu?
Not the same. As you are not overclocking anything. You are simply allowing the game to attempt a higher resolution. Overclocking would be altering the GUP/CPU clock this does not do that. It just tells the game hey try opening in a higher resolution (but one that is in specs of the device) and run at a higher frame rate (but again one that is ok in device specs). If the programmers were future proofing they could have simply added this option in the settings. Think of it like this imagine I made a game when 640x480 resolution was best. Now we have 1920x1080, for instance, so we force the game to open in that resolution instead. Now you are taxing the CPU/GPU more and this might affect its lifespan but this would be the same as if you opened a really modern VR game that uses all the Q3 capabilities for instance.

It makes a small difference on quest 2, however it's weird, I don't really understand which render resolution would be native resolution. And shouldn't increasing render resolution just reduce the framerate, so there's no point in choosing 120hz, cause the display will just show 60hz or something.

Yes you are correct but again you need a pc to do that so he’s showing you how you can do all this within the quest 3 headset

Does the QGO app still work after a power cycle? I prefer to power off the headset in between vr sessions and the fact that I have to go through this tedious setup every day has been the reason I’ve never bought into this method.
QGO has options where the app will start when you boot up your Quest. So it will appear instead of your normal library and when you start games from QGO you can then launch them with whatever profile you want. So you just do all the installation like I show here once and then you use QGO to launch your games. The dev has made it as easy to use as possible.
How long till its an app on meta store? I bet 6 months
I don't think this will ever be on the official Meta store as it requires developer permissions to operate.
I have a question my family has 2 headsets a quest3s which is mine and my old quest 2 my brothers now use but I have 2 accounts the one they use which used to be mine and has most of my games and my alternate account which I now use on the 3s if I buy this will I be able to use it on all devices and accounts or just on my quest 3s?
You can family share to both headsets. Buy a game once, play it on both headsets online together at the same time. It’s awesome. Playing contractors showdown with my dad and only payed $18

The game that QGO does AMAZING on and to me makes it work the $12 100% is PowerWash Simulator. I love the PC version of the game and was excited for the VR version. But when the VR version came out, it was locked at 40fps (and still is) with horrible resolution (probably close to 720p or lower by the looks of it). with QGO, I am able to play it with crisp graphics and 120hz now and it lives up to the desktop version. I just got QGO yesterday, and when I got home from work, I was playing PWS for close to 6 hours straight without realizing it. Some times I wonder if getting the BOBOVR M3 Pro and a few of their new batteries was a good idea that can let me play continuously for an indefinite period of time as I will never run out of battery
QGO is a great app to have, especially for the Quest 3. The extra power of the XR2 Gen 2, the higher resolution displays and pancake lenses allow games to look really sharp and crip; and in my opinion, when it comes to VR, visual clarity is king.
@@Maraksot78 I whole heartedly agree with that. I can see why developers don't do this from the start as the build in battery would be drained super quick. But like my other comment said, with an endless supply of batteries that can give the Quest 3 all the power it wants, I will never run out of battery and will crank everything to 11. Worse case scenario, I only get 1.5 hours on each of my extra batteries. Only takes 1.5 hours to charge the batteries, and I have 3 of them.

Followed the steps its saying im not in developer mode when my quest is, saying I need to re-enable it from the mobile quest app? But I would need to create a meta developer account which they want private details and needs to wait for verification?

Yes, it works on Quest Pro and as far as I know it is capable of adjusting settings on all Quest games. Of course be aware that the CPU/GPU in the Quest are only capable of so much so ypu don't want to push settings too high or else it will negatively effect game performance.

As far as I know in order to play games with the improved settings, you need to launch your games from the QGO menu. There is a setting in QGO for it to launch when you first boot up your Quest, so you don't have to go into the unknown apps menu every time, which makes using QGO much more convenient.

Great instructional video, cant activate Developer Mode on Quest 3 in Meta Horizon App. Everything else kicked off just as described in video. Optimizer tells me I need to activate Developer Mode and even directs me to MHA to enable Developer Mode.
So, "Maraksot78", I have a question on a different VR topic. Have you tested the AMD beta drivers that enable AFMF 2? I was hoping it would work in VR (for FS 2020 in particular), but I don't think it does. If you have and get different results, could you let me know what your settings were? Thx dude!
I don't think AFMF works with VR at all. I haven't tried this myself though, if the original AFMF did, then AFMF 2 should as well.

Does the Graphics Boost work for the entire headset or just inside the Games ? ? I know with the Quest 2 I was able to boost the entire headset .... thanks.
Kinda seems to be a 'per-app' basis. Like the home environments and menus can look MUCH better with maxed HD settings, but it brings the framerate down, to me not a huge problem since I only notice it when scrolling in the menus. I don't think it would do anything to the quality of the videos being pushed by something like RUclips or Amazon, though the landing page for Amazon does look much better.

Keep at it, I also had problems and almost gave up. Make sure on the "Allow wireless debugging on this network" you must select the bottom option "Always allow on this network" instead of "Allow" at 14:50. Make sure "Wireless Debugging" is on. And on Settings there was the option to delete prior pairing, can't remember where. You might have to delete and reinstall QGO then reboot but it's definitely worth the effort, Golf+ and other apps greatly improved.

I only have the option for Solution 1 (there's no code input for Solution 2). When I enter the code in Solution 1, it asks me to either reenter the code or restart the headset and try again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@ I finally got mine working by downloading side quest on my laptop and then just hooking it up and allowing de bugging. Takes like two minutes. Plus side quest on PC is free.

Well, i know its working because is diaplayng it sayng the Hz and info on cpu and gpu. It is very good the difference!! Only got a litle warm up on the quest.
But still im seeing a red banner stayng i got to enable developer mode, but i aint doing nothing, its working, can toggle on or off, or automatic on the self software. Amazing thanks
...but there is one "small thing" that needs to be said:
Yes, it's true, with just a few clicks and settings in the app you can set the graphics for standalone games and applications on the Quest to be absolutely "sharp" and "color-brilliant" just as you had dreamed (and you'll find out how it should be from the factory), BUT...
...if you set it up LIKE THAT, then your Quest will have sucked up ALL the POWER from your additional battery AND the Quest like a vacuum cleaner within half an hour to an hour (!)!
And the thing (especially the LCD panels under the lenses!) gets really, really warm! - HOT!
So, either you're plugged into the power grid or you're carrying lots and lots of additional batteries!

I noticed the HD icon under Bigscreen app does it increase Movie sharpness as well?
it increases the resolution so it will look sharper, just make sure the movie resolution is greater than upscaled resolution

No. This is for stand alone Quest games only. Does not effect PC VR.
It would have been useful to mention if QGO also worked on your wife's account when she logged onto the headset.

It does work, it's just not as dramatic a difference on the Quest 2 as it is on the Quest 3 since the Quest 2 isn't as powerful as the Quest 3.
