      There could be another way to get good cars here. If Indian govt and US govt create a tax free goods exchange treaty, then we could be getting all those Escalades, Subarbans, Tahoes, Yukons, Super Duties, Rams, Silverados, Tundras, Tacomas, Rangers, Raptors, etc. for the same price as in US. Azaadi ke 75 saal aur itni zayda protectionist policy hone ke baad bhi achi cars nhi bana sakte, time se delivery nhi de sakte, dhang ki service nhi de sakte to rehne do yaar. But it's been 75+ years now and we are deep into globalization. I think local manufacturers had enough time to grow themselves to international standards. Now it's high time govt should remove these high custom duty from cars and lit of other products as well.

    I think a good approach would be to allow duty free imports for a period of 3-5 years to incentivize the companies to try the Indian market.... and after the time period we can again bring back import duties... This would be helpful for the companies to set up manufacturing plants in India if they get a good response from the indian market.

      @@AnirudhVerma-gi5hw again the changes are going to be gradual unlike de-monetization. The tax should go up slowly. Meanwhile if they have products that are selling in the indian market and if they are running a profitable operation of a significant scale they would consider setting up their manufacturing plants here and not just import the cars. Also, if they were not running a profitable operation or if the profits are not enough to set up a serious manufacturing facility, they were anyway going to exit our market moreover if they leave the demand for the local product would increase and the people working in the assembling facilities could get a job with our indigenous brands.

In return, our Royal enfield and the likes, the people in the US could get them without import taxes. Would this kind of scheme work out in the future? What's your opinion on this?

    Dear Carversal,
    I hope this message finds you well. As an avid follower of your work, I wanted to offer a suggestion that I believe would greatly benefit your audience. I would love to see a comprehensive comparison between the Mahindra XUV 700, Tata Harrier, and Tata Safari with the likes of Mercedes Benz GLB, Audi Q2, and BMW X1.
    I understand that these vehicles are from vastly different segments, and there is a significant difference in price and brand value. However, they all offer similar features, space, and performance. Therefore, I think it would be interesting to explore whether the price of these luxury vehicles is justified or if we are simply paying for the brand name.
    Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to your future content.

    Good video. But once the price of vehicles increases it won't reduce. These brands will find a way to keep prices around their current positions. Especially Rolls Royce. Its brand value is closely linked to the price it commands. Even if artificially inflated due to taxes, RR won't bring the prices down by 4 crores. Max by a few lacs.

    • @tommy__edition
      @tommy__edition Год назад +5

      Why not?
      If Rolls Royce already selling a car at price of 2 crore in the global market then why would they have problem to do the same thing in india...
      They know that we set the price of our car at 2 crore but the govt of some countries have increased taxes and it goes around 4 or 5 crores but the other countries are charging less taxes...
      And there would be a plus point for the brand that their product will reach more customers...
      2 crores is not less amount but it's set by the manufacturer itself so why they would have problem with this?

      Bhai Do you even understand the concept of import duty. Rolls Royce already has a Price that is similar globally but Indians are paying almost 100% Extra as Tax. If tax is reduced, Rolls Royce cannot randomly increase their Price. You can simply buy a car in UK and have it imported to India .

      @@arj4unow I agree with you. You're correct from a theoretical vantage point and I hope this indeed turns out to be true. Cars like the S class, 7 series, Range Rover etc will also reduce in price. But for a company like Rolls Royce prestige and perceived value is most important. Keeping aside principles of market economics and taxes, I doubt RR will slash the prices of their cars by 4 crores. A Rolls Royce car is a giffen good product. Higher the price, more it's perceived prestige value. There are people who bought the Phantom at 11 crores and now the newer model will be available for 7 crores? I highly doubt that. That's why I said they'll do some trickery to make sure the prices remain close to where they are right now. Maybe delay the launch of the new model or deliberately hold off on taking orders for a couple of years or even make customers sign Non Disclosure Agreements that they can't reveal the price to anybody. That's a thing. I'm not conspiracy baiting.
