hello from England , the world of ELVIS is wonderful ... ive sang a few Elvis songs on stage , my favorite are FOOL ,DONT CRY DADDY , MEMORIES , SEPERATE WAYS .... Elvis is still around
Hi Dani, I'm your go-to Elvis historian at your command. "That's All Right" was his first commercial effort and it was a regional hit in the South. It's historical importance is that on either side (the flip was "Blue Moon of Kentucky"), DJ's couldn't categorize the music. Is it R&B? Is it C&W? And most DJ's and their audiences (outside of Memphis) didn't know Elvis' skin color. For young people, especially, music is color-blind and Elvis advanced the cause of racial integration & acceptance faster than any other influence. The coolest thing about the recording of "That's All Right" was that there wasn't supposed to be any recordings made that night. It was a fluke. They were in the studio to practice. That's all. But during a break, Elvis was clowning around with an old Arthur Crudup tune, bassist Bill Black joined in, and then guitarist Scotty Moore found a place to weave his instrument into the send-up, too. That's when studio owner, Sam Phillips, started the tape recorder and told them to start over. And that rocket they lit that night is still ablaze. Timeless perfection.
Thank you for mentioning Bill Black. It was he and Elvis that first started playing, after which Scotty and Phillips walked into the session. Bill black was special. Scotty Moore was special, especially on Mystery Train. They are still teaching classes on him playing that song.
Hey Dani, Uncle J-Man here. You’re busy today with Elvis. This song is the song that changed the world. What can I say Elvis looks great and sounds great here in 68’. I love the whole intimacy atmosphere that was this show. Imagine just to be there. I wish I could of seen Elvis, Babe Ruth and Mohamed Ali in there prime. Three American icons that were known around the world. It should be illegal to be that cool. Glad you’re keeping the King alive. See you on the next one kiddo. ❤️👑❤️👑
Elvis is the ultimate Rockstar. He looks absolutely cool. I hope you can do a video reaction to Elvis' tender feeling. Thanks for keeping the memory of Elvis alive, Dani

Dani, you are correct. This song has such historical significance because it is the very first song Elvis recorded. He first recorded "That's All Right Mama" in 1954 at Sun Records Recording Studio in Memphis.
Elvis did 4 demo records at Sun that were self-financed before this song was made. 1) "My Happiness" July 18, 1953 2) "When Your Heartaches Begin" July 18,1953 3) "I'll Never Stand In Your Way" Jan. 4,1954 4) "It Wouldn't Be The Same Without You" Jan. 4, 1954
Hi Dani! Thanks a lot for your Thursday Elvis! I appreciate very much your reaction... I am crazy about Elvis when I was very young...his voice his like an angel ....and the best for the heart...thanks again and take care!
Much praise should go to Scotty Moore on guitar as well, who also played on the original Elvis recording of this song. His fantastic playing really got Elvis fired up!
Right, Scotty is sitting on Elvis’ left hand side and covering the lead guitar parts. He is an often overlooked pioneer and innovator who adapted country and western style and Travis picking into a new rockabilly then rock and roll style, Carl Perkins was another in similar style. This was going on in the 50’s while up north others were adapting a different sound, the country blues, and electrifying it into a harder blues sound, folks like Muddy Waters leading to Chuck Berry, etc.
@@rookmaster7502 It was in 1995, when country artist Ronnie McDowell coaxed Scotty and DJ out of retirement to perform an Elvis tribute at John Asquaga's Nugget in Sparks Nevada... . He was 19 and a half when he recorded this. It was released on July 19th 1954 --two weeks later. It was funny when he told the mic at 4:26 "Come here baby." At 5:36 you were commenting that a guitarist was shaking his legs too. That was Charlie Hodge. Scotty Moore was his original lead guitarist. He didn't move much at all in the early 50s or here, though he 'made' the early Elvis Sun Sound. Bill Black, who died three years prior to this special was a wild man on stage. He played the upright bass. He was funny and would sometimes ride that bass around like on a bronco. He would whoop it up and relax Elvis when he was nervous. Parker told him to cool it when he thought Bill was getting too much attention.
Hey Dani from Australia, first and foremost, thank you for treasuring Elvis's Legacy & 2ndly you are easy on the eye, your one fine Babe. That's the FIRST song he performed live in front of an audience in nearly 7 years and 3 months. He was VERY, very nervous. By the fourth song though, The King was back!
You're doing such a good job reacting to Elvis. It will be nice if you should react to elvis's version of Make The World Go Away it's a beutiful song and Elvis did as always such a great job on it
My mom, aunt, and their friend saw Elvis in concert in 75 or 76. Of course, he didn’t look like this anymore but sound just as amazing. My mom said that she just sat there with her eyes closed and listened. Not the whole time! 😉 Of course, NONE of them have any souvenirs and I always make fun of them because of that! I was born in 78, the year after Elvis died, and thanks to my parents I’m also a huge Elvis fan!
Credit where credit is due. Arthur (Big Boy" Crudup (1905-1974) wrote and recorded this song. Elvis did two more of Crudup's songs : "My Baby Left Me" and "So Glad You're Mine." Elvis did the former several times in concert in the 1970s, but not the latter.
God bless you for your presentation. He was the King...RIP... Yes, that was his first hit, at 19 years of age, with Blue Moon of Kentucky, on the other side. July 6, 1954. 19 YEARS OLD! Blue Moon of Kentucky sold more records in the end. Great recording......If you get a chance, listen to Mystery Train. That was when he was 20 years of age.
I would suggest learning more about his early days before he became successful and sharing it in your videos. He was told he couldn’t sing many times. Despite all the rejection he persevered. Very inspirational. You mentioned his legs shaking and moving during the performance. Early on Elvis had a fear of performing in front of people and his legs would shake. I won’t say anymore and spoil the full story. Everybody that has a love for music should get to know this man and just how talented he was. Truly amazing artist.
I've been a fan for 30 years. Heard a lot of stories, read a lot of books. He was a fascinating human being. I'm a big fan of those early SUN years. I agree with your observation of his voice being deeper, grittier in 68 compared to 54. He was 19 years old when he recorded that song...wasn't even meant to be a record. Sam Phillips just wanted to hear what he sounded like on tape with a band. See if they could get a sound Sam could use. And Boy did he! That record came out of his first jam season ever...at 19... Talk about catching lighting I a bottle. Memphis, Tnn ..late in the evening July 5 1954 @ Sun records, American music changed forever
Hi Dani, good job as usual. A little tidbit about what you just saw. D.J. Fantana (his original drummer from the 50s) is using the back of his guitar case as drum. Go back in check it out. One more thing, I really think you should explore other fanastic performances from his movies. For example, Return to Sender from Girls! Girls! Girls! and Viva Las Vegas from the Vival Las Vegas movie are just 2 examples. There are dozens of primo performances that will have you in awe.
Your Look was sweet When you looked at him. By the way he sang with that crispy vocal thing becauce he wanted It and it Fits to That Session. He could stop it But in That Situation he didnt stop it. he was Able to sang how he feel.
Hi Dani. My suggestion for you is to give a review of one of his movies. Perhaps Wild in the Country (1961). He is still young and his movies were, at that time, allowing him to explore acting. You could discuss the story with screen shots. It would also be nice to hear your cover of the Movies theme track. Only a suggestion.
He Guys, please don't forget to subscribe, she sounds and acts okay. Great for the young to discover him. Also Dani, if you get a chance, view his first movie after leaving the Army, GI BLUES, great movie, and he showed how happy he was to be back. But, for me, it was the Hawaii Special, where he hit his HEIGHT! Magnificent. Was a teenager when Heartbreak Hotel came out. Have all the songs and video's. Never got tired of him.
The story I heard, was they just couldn't get the sound they wanted so when Sam Phillips went on a break, they were just fooling around and came up with that beat and that sound and then Sam Phillip said "There It Is". He wanted a white man to sound like a black man. It was his first public released song that was a regional hit and the is as you know is history. Love you Girl.
He wanted to hear Scotty's guitar, (Scotty Moore, the guy to his left, played lead guitar for Elvis right from the beginning). Just listen to that... That's why Elvis wanted it to keep going....
Dani have you ever reviewed blue moon by Elvis. It’s haunting and an amazing vocal. Please review it. Not blue moon of Kentucky, it is just blue moon. I would say most people aren’t aware of it. Thank you
Hello Dani! I hope your having a great day. I love your Elvis videos. You are adorable! I have three daughters near your age and you remind me of them. BTW, have you checked out the ' You were always on my mind' video about his young wife? Perhaps you might react to this if you get the chance. I love all your stuff, and I'm looking forward to more. God bless!
Hi Dani, If you want something a little different, please Check out his rehearsal videos from California and La s Vegas. You really see his comical side and his passionate side about getting his music perfect.
Dani listen to to recorded interviews through the years. Theres not that many but its great stuff. Maybe start with his first interview out of the army-at Gracelands i think.
Yeah a good documentary is Elvis and the black community. It puts away a lot of lies that have been said about him and stereotypes. I think you would really enjoy it if you haven't already have seen it.

I bought a 50 dollar book about elvis Presley thanks for posting these videos
The story I heard, was they just couldn't get the sound they wanted so when Sam Phillips went on a break, they were just fooling around and came up with that beat and that sound and then Sam Phillip said "There It Is". He wanted a white man to sound like a black man. It was his first public released song that was a regional hit and the is as you know is history. Love you Girl.
The song was Blue moon of kentucky
@@rickyfrankland9578 I thought that was the flip side, but that could be right to.
@@JIMMYDIANO it was the flip side, but it was that song that worked first. They then made thats all right mama faster, tempo etc.
He wanted to hear Scotty's guitar, (Scotty Moore, the guy to his left, played lead guitar for Elvis right from the beginning). Just listen to that... That's why Elvis wanted it to keep going....
Elvis and one of the movies like maybe the Hawaii movie
Dani have you ever reviewed blue moon by Elvis. It’s haunting and an amazing vocal. Please review it. Not blue moon of Kentucky, it is just blue moon. I would say most people aren’t aware of it. Thank you
Hello Dani! I hope your having a great day. I love your Elvis videos. You are adorable! I have three daughters near your age and you remind me of them. BTW, have you checked out the ' You were always on my mind' video about his young wife? Perhaps you might react to this if you get the chance. I love all your stuff, and I'm looking forward to more. God bless!

Yeah a good documentary is Elvis and the black community. It puts away a lot of lies that have been said about him and stereotypes. I think you would really enjoy it if you haven't already have seen it.

He plays with the remains of his original band. Scotty Moore on lead guitar and DJ Fontana on drums.
