Thank you so much for your content! I'll be a senior next year, and I've recently started to figure out that New York seems like a good place for me. It's really helpful to get this information!
Another reason a lot of students don't get financial aid is that NYU relies heavily on international students who mostly (or entirely) pay full tuition. I graduated from a master's program at NYU recently and I totally agree that so many of these resources are under-utilized! I didn't even know about all of these. I'm so glad you're giving current/future students tips!

Gotcha Gurl 1) Include specific school events/traditions, and student organizations you’re interested in joining/participating in at NYU as well as various classes (with the professor’s names) you are interested in taking in your major 2) make sure that throughout your entire response you are trying to let them envision you as a student on campus and how you will be involved inside and outside of the classroom (#1 is a specific way to do so that I highly recommend you include but there are other ways to do this in your why NYU response) FYI you should do a lot of research about very specific details that you can include in your response in order to do this well (you can find lists of student organizations, school events, and professor names & their classes etc. through NYU’s website) 3)make sure you have a very well organized response with several key points as to why NYU is a good fit for you (it can be a sense of community, the drive of students and faculty at NYU, NYU’s innovative approach to different majors and how that sets you ahead in that field, etc) and why you are enthusiastic about attending NYU and then from there figure out a way to incorporate the specific details of how you’ll be involved in and outside of the classroom at NYU within your key points of your argument of “why NYU” 4) Don’t talk about why you want to go to school in New York (because there are lots of colleges in New York so they don’t want to know why you want to go to college in NYC but rather specifically NYU) or if you do keep it to a bare minimum of a couples sentences instead of making at the core of your “Why NYU” response 5) The word limit isn’t super long so don’t waste any of your words and make sure that you pack in as much information and details about why you’re excited about being a student at NYU as possible 6) read, revise, and edit over and over again because it sure would be embarrassing if you find out later that you had a grammar or punctuation error in your essay (also make sure that you have friends and family read and revise it because they haven’t been working on it so they have a different perspective and may see some error that you completely missed and also make sure that you ask them to give their really honest opinion about it) 7) although I do recommend doing a lot of research on what is the most effective response for this prompt, keep it genuine and make sure it’s still has your voice in it good luck! I ultimately decided that NYU was not the right fit for me for various reasons (including financial 😬) but I wish you luck and I hope you get in if you really want to go!

I wanna be class of 2027 at NYU and I already go to a prestigious school and have a 92.2 average but for years people looked down on me and when I would tell them I’m a straight A student they would laugh in my face and ask for proof. And that includes friends. I’m a high honors student and I’ve only told one person where I wanna go and I was terrified to see what her reaction would be.
my adjustment was definitely slow and steady, after about 2 months I felt like more established and comfortable at school bc I had made some closer friends. But I did question my decision a lot, in the beginning, there were times when I was unhappy, but I'm glad I stuck it out :) wishing you the best!
I have a question: How do they grade you at NYU Tisch? How do they grade your film productions or artwork? Is it based off of you meeting the criteria, or if they think that it's good or not?
It’s been a while but... do you know how plausible it is to do a double major at different schools? If I wanted to go to Tisch for Collaborative Arts and CAS for Urban Design and Architecture would they do like a five year plan or fit it into four or anything else? Thank you in advance if you see this.
Um I just wanted to say that $150,000 may sound like a lot of money out of context but when you factor in other expenses that students and their families have to pay for (especially if the student has a sibling in college) there’s actually a huge disparity between the amount of money their parents make and the amount of money their parents can actually put up towards their college, however FASFA and the EFC rarely, if ever, factor this aspect in hence why a lot of people believe that students who’s families make this amount of money have the means to send them to college out-of-pocket. Just a little clarification.
I was wondering if freshman grades in highschool matter to NYU, I didn’t care about school when I was a freshman but now I do and NYU is my dream school

Gotcha Gurl
1) Include specific school events/traditions, and student organizations you’re interested in joining/participating in at NYU as well as various classes (with the professor’s names) you are interested in taking in your major
2) make sure that throughout your entire response you are trying to let them envision you as a student on campus and how you will be involved inside and outside of the classroom (#1 is a specific way to do so that I highly recommend you include but there are other ways to do this in your why NYU response) FYI you should do a lot of research about very specific details that you can include in your response in order to do this well (you can find lists of student organizations, school events, and professor names & their classes etc. through NYU’s website)
3)make sure you have a very well organized response with several key points as to why NYU is a good fit for you (it can be a sense of community, the drive of students and faculty at NYU, NYU’s innovative approach to different majors and how that sets you ahead in that field, etc) and why you are enthusiastic about attending NYU and then from there figure out a way to incorporate the specific details of how you’ll be involved in and outside of the classroom at NYU within your key points of your argument of “why NYU”
4) Don’t talk about why you want to go to school in New York (because there are lots of colleges in New York so they don’t want to know why you want to go to college in NYC but rather specifically NYU) or if you do keep it to a bare minimum of a couples sentences instead of making at the core of your “Why NYU” response
5) The word limit isn’t super long so don’t waste any of your words and make sure that you pack in as much information and details about why you’re excited about being a student at NYU as possible
6) read, revise, and edit over and over again because it sure would be embarrassing if you find out later that you had a grammar or punctuation error in your essay (also make sure that you have friends and family read and revise it because they haven’t been working on it so they have a different perspective and may see some error that you completely missed and also make sure that you ask them to give their really honest opinion about it)
7) although I do recommend doing a lot of research on what is the most effective response for this prompt, keep it genuine and make sure it’s still has your voice in it
