@user-ep3hm3it1m I would LOVE to see Wolfie do a tribute tour. He was fantastic at the Taylor Hawkins tributes. However, Wolfie has been pretty clear about his lack of interest in a tribute with him in it. He gets so much crap about riding his Dad's coat tails.( which is total BS). I'm sure that has a lot to do with his decision to steer clear.
I think Joe Satriani is a guitar god, but I definitely think Steve would be better suited for playing Van Halen material live..his style matches up with Ed's better than Satch....
I think Wolfie could do it for sure, but doubtful he would do it without Alex on board, which is doubtful...love Joe, but his playing style is too different than Ed's...I definitely think Steve would be a good fit, also...I think everybody should just put their egos and grudges aside, and Sammy, Dave, Mikey, Alex, and Wolfie do some shows together...I think it would benefit them as much as the fans, if they just let all the sh*t between them go...@user-ep3hm3it1m
It great to see Eddie having a grand ole time jamming out with Steve. Looks like he’s enjoying every single note of it. And that bass player/singer is no slouch either. The pipes on that guy though.
I remember haunting a lot of local music stores in 1980's CA as a teen. I used to really envy the "older" guys who worked in these shops who got at least a few passes to NAMM back then if the shop they worked for was an authorized seller for "x-y-z"-product. The stories they brought back with them generally involved some member of Toto, Tom Scholz or most importantly to me at the time, EVH. And most of what they said about Eddie was _not_ complimentary: Claiming he was drunk/coked out the day they saw him, doing endless whammy dive-bombs and playing over everybody in the jam sessions. I know this is only one video of one day but, it kinda makes me question a lot of what those guys said now. To me and on this vid, Eddie looks healthy, mostly sober, happy and kicking ass playing as he ever did. I saw Eddie in early 00's with Van Hagar so I know what he looks/sounds like playing loaded, sloppy and reckless. So now seeing this, I have to retroactively question the motivations for all of those guys I knew back then that I'm starting to realize were basically resentful "1970's"-players who even post-5150, saw EVH as a "punk fad", and not good for the guitar playing world. Obviously, the world has changed, and a lot of those music store guys from back then are retired or dead. And to a modern day teen, EVH's legend is like Gen X teens hearing about Buddy Holly's or Buck Owens's bands, back in the 50's. Amazing how time flies and pre-internet opinions and rumors that you hung on every word of when you had to depend on other people for firsthand experiences, are now just irrelevancies, compartmentalized, or just forgotten unless somebody you knew back then brings them up. I guess that's just another sneaky part of growing up that you don't realize is even happening, until it's almost over. Long live EVH and his enduring legacy.
Kool ! I was at that show , what a night ... I believe it was the Fourth of July , correct? Thought it was 94 tho , but I'm getting old 😂😂.... Great memories from that night .. Eddie was killer !!🤘🏻😎
Man.... to have been blessed to join in on a jam with King EVH.... and to then bust out some finger-tapping w/him! Gotta love it that SS ripped a bit like that🤘
I've been looking for this video! I seen it some years back, but haven't been able to find it since. Thank you so much for posting this awesome video again!
Why am i not surprised to see Mr Tim Bogert leading this all out attack on your senses. He was the best. I'm sure he's wondering when these two guys are gonna set the stage on fire. No worries, Tim will keep right on going through the flames as always. Epic jam.
I could put VH on my stereo and after the Hurricane, Tornado, or Nuclear War had passed thru , someone would ask me , “” Tell me what do you remember the ordeal “” , my answer would be , “well yeah it was windy and all that but what I remember most is Eddie’s Guitar just by screaming and drowning everything else out”” !
Good ol' short haired "I'm in a fancy version of Journey' Eddie. That singer and the other guys in the band have a few stories now though. Bass player probably talked about it at least once per day since then.
That would've been a lot better if whoever filmed it didn't film the damned floor half of the time! At least we have more historical footage that no one knew existed.
Man! That had to be a great show! I wish I could have actually been there because the video is not as great as it should be, but it's extremely bad though.
Funny that!..Was recently watching an old video tape from the 80’s and all I could think was how horrible the picture quality was. Camera was expensive af huge an you had to sneak it out the house to use it🤣..Editing a tape took two vcr’s ..
So cool but definitely not a fan of a bunch of guitarists, and drummers playing together it just sounds like a crazy mess.. I'm sure it's a thrill for the fans but you just can't hear really what's going on it's crazy.

Steve Stevens has always been vastly under rated. He’s a monster and Eddie knew he was in a real ass duel. Bad ass
Dang straight!...
Definitely the reason David Lee Roth originally wanted Steve Steven's before he landed Steve Vai. A tale of 2 Steves...LOL
He’s not underrated!!
@@MercyBlastTVI have to say… a pretty funny pun!!!!!!
Legendary Tim Bogert is on bass. Great footage.
Tim Bogart had a killer voice!
Wow!!! I would have paid any amount of money to see Eddie & Steve together live!! I wish Steven was on the tribute tour with Sammy & Mike.
that would be cool
Sammy's a jerk for not using the you tubers insteD of putting em all down like anyone can play like ed.he damn sure cant!!

Eddie and Steve dueling on guitars and having a blast playing as a band for this NAMM show must have been fun to see live.
Not a duel they are feeding off each other
Two of all time greatest guitarists. How much joy they had playing together
It great to see Eddie having a grand ole time jamming out with Steve. Looks like he’s enjoying every single note of it. And that bass player/singer is no slouch either. The pipes on that guy though.
That "guy" is/was Tim Bogart former singer in the group Vannia Fudge.
you mean Vanilla Fudge i guess@@matthewshropshire71
@saul.ptanley lol, " Vanilla "
Many thanks! 🙏 Seeing Eddie smiling with his Pal Steve, a legend of his own, is price less. Long Live King Edward! RIP, Great One. 🎼♥️

Loved this commentary ❤
I can only imagine the back stage party favors at that gig ❄️
I saw each one of them wipe their nose at least once in this video (Tim, Steve and Eddie)
It was pretty common for snow/white outs at NAMM in the 80’s 😅
#WHO #CARES
Wow 2 masters performing together
Make that three, brooklyn, Tim Bogert= Vanilla Fudge, Cactus and Jeff Beck. His name should have also appeared in the title.
This would have been the show of a lifetime to be at. Two legends on guitars. Amazing video.
2 of the Best to ever do it. Love em both. Eddie & Steve are both Amazing players.
Just when I thought I've seen it all. What a treasure! Thank you for sharing.
The one and only time I got to see Van Halen in Weedsport in 1993, opening was Vince Neil w/ SS on guitar....mind blowing!!!

Sheer fun for Eddie playing with Steve! He brought so much joy to the world! Brilliant footage!
This is what made NAMM so special and legendary back in the day. These all-star jams that they dont seem to have anymore. At least not at this level.
What a play of scales love those boys they are the best
EVH is the GOAT ! SS is one of the GOATs for sure ! Playing is about having fun doing what you love, and they seem to do exactly that !
So cool! Was just at NAMM last weekend.
Its good fun watching these Great musicians having an Absolute Blast Cutting Heads and doing what they do ! Much appreciated
Man.... to have been blessed to join in on a jam with King EVH.... and to then bust out some finger-tapping w/him! Gotta love it that SS ripped a bit like that🤘
Amazing
Definitely rare footage!! And AMAZING footage too!!!
eddie and steve, my favorites
The duel of the Hamer and Kramer.
Impressive lineup, looks like they were having a good time.
i was there! My first NAMM after moving to LA, only missed 2 since then 🤘
I've been looking for this video! I seen it some years back, but haven't been able to find it since. Thank you so much for posting this awesome video again!
Eddy looks like hes having a blast awesome video of EVH and S.S.
Very soulful😊
I have forgotten this period when Eddie sported a mullet.
Hell yes
Thanks for sharing this , amazing !
Man, I sure wish audio was better back then....
Got to listen to Marty Friedman at the Jackson booth at 94 NAMM . Standing 6 ft from him just in a complete stupor
I was there, and it was loud!
Finest guitarrist Steve.....
This is very very very rare bro
That was pure gold.
10 Points for the Camera man!!
😂
SS, that must have filled up your bucket list? I'd be mine too.
Thanks!!! This is amazing 😍
❤

Epic jam.
For the drummers, here plays the very underrated Tony "Thunder" Smith :-)
Simply BRILLIANT
Eddie é um gênio, mas Steve mandou muito bem nesse duelo..., não deixou a desejar...
SEEING UNCLE~MR.STEVE STEVENS LIVE IN THIS FOOTAGE IS JUST SO ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.. I LOVE THIS VIDEO..
Eddie recorded with Michael Jackson beat it solo and live on 1984 The Jacksons and Steve recorded Dirty Diana on 1987 !
Daaannnngggg.

Good Jamz🎸✌🏼
Wow wicked awsome😂
At the end, Michael Winslow came in on "guitar" lol
🤣Glad someone else caught that-I was like wtf-is that Micheal Winslow??? lol🤘
Tim Bogaert. Founding member of Vanila Fudge is the real star here and probably the reason EVH is jamming.
Both 2 of them / king of the 80s
Awesomeness
FKG awesome 👍
Wow !!!
Dammnn...🤘🤘
Steve Stevens 🌟
can;t believe in my life i never saw this crazy ass sht omg.
Best part of this vid starts around 4:47 when Steve suggests they trade licks off each other. Damn, Stevens holds up to Eddie no problem.
Ed was feeling no pain..Its serious if Steve is playing..😎
if only the iPhone was invented in 1986. awesome!
Rebel yellin' with the devil
Ok... That waz freeking ausome!!!
Good ol' short haired "I'm in a fancy version of Journey' Eddie. That singer and the other guys in the band have a few stories now though. Bass player probably talked about it at least once per day since then.
That must be Tim Bogert on bass. Bogert, Carmine Appice and Jeff Beck did Superstition on their album.
Nice! If that had happened today, you would have seen nothing but mobile phone screens :)
Is that Tim Bogart on bass & vocals??
That would've been a lot better if whoever filmed it didn't film the damned floor half of the time! At least we have more historical footage that no one knew existed.
Why does Eddie’s guitar ALWAYS “cut” any other guitar player’s that’s onstage with him? Are they turning him up higher?🤔🤷🏻♂️
good CAlll
Interesting. Eddie has jammed Superstition with Roth, here and with Sammy. Much props to Stevie W.
Stevie Wonder?
Steve Steven’s hair caused an eclipse
Tim Bogert!!
cool. I think that's tim bogart on bass.
Holy Frick ;p
the singer is Tim Bogart a bass legend from Vanilla Fudge
Man! That had to be a great show! I wish I could have actually been there because the video is not as great as it should be, but it's extremely bad though.
Recorded on a Motorola flip phone
I lov when Eddie's on auto pilot
Nobody gonna mention Tim Bogert.
It's a shame that when great musicians were around, cameras were so much worse and so much more expensive than today's smartphones.

Rocking Superstition no less…wow.
Can you imagine being EVH?
What is namm. Does it stand for anything?
National Association of Music Marketers
I wonder if Eddie's guitar was loud...
I was there that night. I think Eddie was a bit drunk
Ed playing standard licks over and over
Question ⁉ do you think he is relying on his name /style or what?
@@worstknightmayor4439 no, he thinks he is playing standard (what ever that means to him) over and over.

The more I see of this type of footage (Eddie jamming with others), the more I realize he just plays the same stuff over and over.
I don’t see the Tattoo on his arm either
Steve is probably the only guy who could ever even touch the KING EVH!
The audio absolutely sucks, period. Too bad, I'd like to have seen the real deal.
