- Hey! Let me introduce myself - I'm Cat and I've been a full-time deep space painter & astrophotographer for 7 years. Before that I ran video game studios and DJed all over the world.
Not sure if anyone actually reads these descriptions, but here we go
Sooo this is my First Painting RUclips Video- be gentle. I promise we'll get better as we go. The concept for the video is a bit like Bob Ross meets Carl Sagan, It's a good tutorial for how to paint space, but its more about making something that's deeply relaxing. Something that's deeply satisfying that well help you unwind after a stressful day.
I currently have 3 more of these in progress so a lot of the improvements may have already been made so if you make it through this video just know the next ones should be better.

I’ve always looked at outer space as God’s canvas. The way you described the titanium paint being produced from a type 1a supernova blast was so poetic & informative. I feel the same sense of connection with our grand Universe. I literally shed a tear because this process moved me so much! Thank you for creating this for us Cathrin. Your much awaited video showed on my feed in a much needed moment of anxiety. I’ve been trying to pick up my painting or drawing for months or even years and can’t seem to start again. This video not only gave me the therapy session I needed at this moment, but reminded me that nothing great is instant, to be patient with the process and to remember how it feels like to give birth to stellar dust when you let go of perfection. So many layers to this video. Congrats and keep inspiring us!

the glow is the white paint so no extra steps

Was this on a paper (for oil paints) or a canvas?
Also, was the background wet or semi-dry before you started? Either way, it's immaculate work. I just wanted to know so I can try to create something using oil paint... been using acrylic. Thank you 😊
