Coyotes are successful in defeating cats when there are 2 or more of them, which is often. One on one the kitty has the advantage.

That is a classic way in which canine predators work: dont rush in and hope for the best, just keep wearing the enemy down. The weak point in all felines is their small heart, which means their heavy, strong muscles tire quickly. The canids, with their huge hearts, lungs and blood vessels can go on forever. They know more poweful predators will soon tire - and thats when they move in. Thats why cougars avoid wolves and leopards avoid African hunting dogs.

Interesting points. Yeah the canines have insane endurance, probably the most out of almost any animals?

Coyotes may kill bobs more often, but they're cowards and rarely try anything like a fair fight. I've heard of a pitbull that literally shredding 5 or 6 coyotes & wolves kick their sorry asses on a regular basis, plus I hate coyotes and

Fascinating look at how coyotes operate on a foe that could hurt it. Round and round we go, tightening the circle, nope, back out, change direction, back to circling, wearing the prey down or catching it off guard.

  • @soldatheero

Not sure why every video like this has every single comment saying how the cat would shred the coyote so easily when it's usually coyotes killing bobcats.
"In some areas, coyotes share their ranges with bobcats. These two similarly-sized species rarely physically confront one another, though bobcat populations tend to diminish in areas with high coyote densities.[154] However, several studies have demonstrated interference competition between coyotes and bobcats, and in all cases coyotes dominated the interaction.[155][156] Multiple researchers[157][158][159][156][160] reported instances of coyotes killing bobcats, whereas bobcats killing coyotes is more rare.[155] Coyotes attack bobcats using a bite-and-shake method similar to what is used on medium-sized prey. Coyotes, both single individuals and groups, have been known to occasionally kill bobcats. In most cases, the bobcats were relatively small specimens, such as adult females and juveniles.[156]
Coyote attacks, by an unknown number of coyotes, on adult male bobcats have occurred. In California, coyote and bobcat populations are not negatively correlated across different habitat types, but predation by coyotes is an important source of mortality in bobcats."" Wiki

Bobcat's aren't stupid to fight a pack. Here's a real clash in the video I shared - wasn't pretty for coyote. Wild/feral felines are no joke to mess with.

Just like a bigger version of a house cat vs a fox, it's a good match up, normally foxes are a bit bigger than a house cat just like a coyote is normally slightly bigger than a Bobcat, but it's almost a battle of the minds, obviously of both are the same size in a straight fight as long as it doesnt last over 10minutes then the cat should win, my god does an attack from any car species hurt.

One on one I think a bobcat kills a cayotes if it doesn't escape cats are pound for pound way stronger then any dog species but the bobcat is way too fast for the cayote and are way to hard to catch.

The difference is that bobcat is a wild animal, they are very skilled, house cats do not sharpen their skills much, because they get their food for free.

@@justappearances That's where you're wrong, cats by nature are a pure carnival and natural abilities are unmatched even house cats have near enough all the skills and abilities of their wild cousins unlike other domesticated animals like dogs.

Keep in mind that a Coyote has a strong jaw and the Bobcat only has its paws, its jaw not terribly useful in a fight. The cat can scratch away at the Coyote and I'm sure it'll hurt like hell but it will take very long to kill it. The Coyote on the other hand only has to put its jaw around the Bobcat's neck for a few seconds and it's lights out for the cat. In reality, the Bobcats are way more agressive so the fight usually never starts because the Coyote doesn't want to get scratched up. Should both species be forced to fight to the end however, and with both animals in their prime, my money is on the Coyote simply because it has the weapons to kill, the Bobcat only has the weapons to hurt. Its paws were made for smaller prey.
