The coyote does waste all his stamina for running in circles while the bobcat only uses energy for a occasional burst. This way they could both tire at the same rate until the bobcat decides to go for a tree.

Notwithstanding, we observe solo felines demolishing canines with ease in instances where the cat exhibits the disposition to be the aggressor. Felines are equipped in physiology & are instinctively predisposed as ferocious & skillful quick-killers possessing five weapons to the one of a canine. Ostensibly, canines, except in packs or where there is a substantial advantage in size, are readily outgunned in 1-1 engagements against a determined feline.

Remember that series about a vet . I don't remember her name but she was rehabilitating a bobcat and it bit her. Right through her finger nail and bone. They're no joke

One on one I think a bobcat kills a cayotes if it doesn't escape cats are pound for pound way stronger then any dog species but the bobcat is way too fast for the cayote and are way to hard to catch.

The difference is that bobcat is a wild animal, they are very skilled, house cats do not sharpen their skills much, because they get their food for free.

@@justappearances That's where you're wrong, cats by nature are a pure carnival and natural abilities are unmatched even house cats have near enough all the skills and abilities of their wild cousins unlike other domesticated animals like dogs.

Keep in mind that a Coyote has a strong jaw and the Bobcat only has its paws, its jaw not terribly useful in a fight. The cat can scratch away at the Coyote and I'm sure it'll hurt like hell but it will take very long to kill it. The Coyote on the other hand only has to put its jaw around the Bobcat's neck for a few seconds and it's lights out for the cat. In reality, the Bobcats are way more agressive so the fight usually never starts because the Coyote doesn't want to get scratched up. Should both species be forced to fight to the end however, and with both animals in their prime, my money is on the Coyote simply because it has the weapons to kill, the Bobcat only has the weapons to hurt. Its paws were made for smaller prey.

Coyotes as pack animals are inferior in physiology & innate fighting skills to felines. Whereas dogs have endurance & persistence, cats have more weapons (teeth + 4 sets of razor sharp claws), coupled with greater musculature, explosive speed and greater violence in their attack. Cat are ambush killers that operate in a quick fury...a similar sized cat will vanquish a similar size dog. That coyote would have suffered its ‘ass handed back to it in a sling’ had it persisted. Notice too how the dog expended much energy circling while the cat preserved energy mostly staying put; cats have higher metabolisms than dogs and must conserve movement. Tactically, a solo big cat would be at a disadvantage against a pack of wild dogs out on flat & open range. Therefore, (smart) cats roam wooded & hilly/mountain areas.

@@Snookynibbles You're obviously a cat person. One bite in the neck by a powerful dogs jaw and it's bye bye kitty. The cat only has flappy paws made to kill small prey. They can hurt the coyote but to kill it it would take very long time. The cats usually scare the coyotes away cause cats are grumpy and ferocious and coyotes are quite careful (or cowardly even). But make no mistake, should it come to a fight where both creatures can't escape, the dog has the weapons to kill swiftly where the cat only has the weapons to hurt. I'd bet my money on the coyote in that case. Sick and tired of reading all this cat superhero bullshit.

@@KingHaggis fight to the death bobcat would barely loose cause they're still significantly smaller (you'll have a coyote with destroyed eyes and face though) but against a lynx which is a little more even I think the lynx wins

@@KingHaggisBut it’s true - physiologically an individual cat is far superior to an individual dog. Stronger, faster, quicker, better reflexes, much, much more fast-twitch muscle fibers (explosivity in motion), their only shortcoming is endurance but since they’re ambush predators they don’t have to run prey over long distances. So surprise surprise, if a coyote takes on a bobcat on the bobcat’s terms the coyote will almost certainly lose, and vice versa. Don’t forget that where wild animals are concerned a win doesn’t mean having to kill the other animal, it just means not being killed or injured badly enough that it can’t hunt. I think you’re confusing a bobcat’s claws with a house cat’s, the bobcat’s are about 3x as long. Like all cat claws except for cheetahs’ they’re curved so that they slice deeper into flesh as they’re pulled along, a bobcat paw swipe that connects will lay the flesh open down to the ribcage or skull.
