Seems annoying that they had a spot for a second SSD (NVME) but they didn't include the port allow for it. They could have added it, and added another $100 to the price.

i already bought xpg sx8200 512gb becuz i thought there's two ssd slot but realized thats only hp victus 16 not 15😑

@@milflover470 yes if u have victus 16 u have no problem on upgrading ssd
@@xxrelaxbrotherxx you mean 16 series have 2 slots and 15 series have 1 slot? as far as I see since 16s have seperate fans they could include second m2

the hardest case (and screws), I've ever encountered to open. My tip(s) start gently at the back w/ either finger nails or plastic tools (available in mini electronics screwdriver kits at Walmart). Patience, it's not just you. Recommend you do NOT start where he does in the video. All that work, just to have ONLY the RAM upgrade ability.

HP loves making stupid decessions. Storage is important, including a 2nd SSD space but refusing to add the port for it.
Can we add the port by ourselves in the ssd 2 and place another separate ssd is that possible
Does anyone know if the socket can be soldered on to the solder pads for the 2nd SSD? Would it be recognized in the BIOS? I guess I'm not the only one pissed off at HP for designing the slot for the 2nd m.2 SSD, but then not adding the socket. I do some surface mounted soldering for flight controllers and ESCs. Replacing f7 chips, mosfets, etc. If it would be recognized I know I can add the socket.

@@daviddominguez1157 No, I haven't tried it. I might when I replace this laptop, but for now I needed a new laptop, paid over a thousand dollars for this one and am not about to try something that may break it. If I knew it would work without damaging the laptop, I'd definitely do it though.

Correct, personally I've never had an issue leaving it connected
But I have had a few people comment they have damaged their laptop when they didn't disconnect it

Not sure why you removed that antenna keeper/ static shield for wifi antenna. 7:13 Also that’s a terrible way to remove the lid. You damaged it, and broke a bunch of clips.

It should tell u in kilobytes, devide the number to 1024 and it will give u in megabytes

@Ricks Tech Repairs alas getting nowhere. think im gone have to get a screw removal bit. smallest i can see is 2mm will that be to big?
Have you had screen flickering issues with this model? I've tried updating and rolling back drivers. Still won't go away.

Have this issue with my HP omen 15 (got it in 2018), dropping my brightness helps, or having it plugged in. Otherwise there doesn't seem to be a fix. Waiting to get the HP Victus but kinda bummed I can't add extra RAM
I have the same model.. of hp victus and screen flickering is the major issue I had felt... I tried to update the BIOS but still it won't go away.. the cursor of the mouse also sometimes freezes.
Weird I haven't had this problem and I've had it since august

Most probably it will work. But it's just a safety precautions. I did many upgrade SSD/Ram without disconnecting battery for my friends & customers. And never encountered any issues. But in theory the bord can get fried.

i didnt replace parts just removed and reinstalled the factory parts
if i was to upgrade i would use the following:
2x 16GB DDR4 3200mhz Sodimm (Crucial brand)
1x TeamGroup MP33 1TB NVMe (Budget 1TB NVME Drive)

I ordered this same laptop but I can’t tell if it’s going to be 60hz or 144hz and I can’t find any info on it just the gtx version
GTX version i would guess is only 60hz
@@rickstechrepairs every gtx version is 144 which don’t make sense bc this one is better than some of the gtx ones
@@zanosty5154 only the rtx 3050 comes with 144hz the GTX 1650 just comes with the basic 60 Hz display
