These videos with your waving hands and the table bring me back to Maine. I loved those videos watching you make fabric from scraps and strings :) You've given me many years of inspiration on top of all the laughs
Gosh Darlene I could watch u all day and night from home in Montreal Quebec Canada. I did two blocks and I finished with slow stitching with embroidery thread to embellish the missed ends. Love the last 3 u just did. I’m going to make sunglasses case so I’ll make them 8 by 10 inches as birthday and Christmas gifts. Please keep up ur excellent work that inspires us so much. Love u and ur awesome sense of humour. Ur so down to earth and I’ll come back tmr again and again. Thank u so much Darlene.. just wish you’d live next door to me!
Darlene, I watch pretty much all of your videos. I wish I could live near you and hang out sometime. I am in Alaska and have lots of fun repeating the methods you show all of us out here in Internetland … Thank you for all your tips and videos. We are all grateful.
These remind me of your doodles, piecing different patterns, shapes & colours together. The end result for both looks so cool. Very creative & so pretty 🙂.
I've always loved quilts but never thought I had the patience or ability for the perfection of the quilts I was seeing. You showed me that imperfect and wonky is a goal!! I can achieve that and love my scrappy projects no matter if it is fabric or crocheting. Thanks for showing me this world.
Watching Darlene helped me realize it doesn't have to be perfect according to the rules or quilting police, if you like it and it fits together, you made it, so it's great!
Loving the look of this! I think every now and then it's good to just sit and be creative, instead of following a pattern! These are beautiful!! 🎉❤ Oooh for those with decorative stitches on their machines, this would be a great block to use those on with a variegated thread or different colors of thread!
Oh soooo happy to find ye. I used to watch ye at my friend's computer ,didn't have one, then i moved on !! Sooo again happy to be able to watch ye, ye are a HOOT !!😂🎉🎉
Love this. Need to find this stabilizer. The last one I used was black and bought from you. I ended making a tote bag and get so many compliments on it.
Those are absolutely beautiful!!! The things you could make with these! Thank you for sharing this Darlene. Many blessings to you and your loved ones. 💕 💯
I save all my shreds for a lady who always makes a pillow with every quilt and/or uses them for the cutest teddy bear donated to the pediatric ward for the pets patients. I keep them in large baggies for her to pick up. No fabric goes in the trash. 😅😊
I love this, went back and watched your video while in Maine with moms tv in the background❤. That’s when I started saving the shreds. My friend thinks I’m crazy😂. Let’s do a quilt in all this stuff..
I really like the looks of these blocks, however, just wondering how well the quilts would hold up in the wash. I think I may sew a bit more on them. I like the threads at the end, finishes the blocks up so nicely.
Hi Darlene! I have been watching you since Skylar was dyeing your hair. I laughed so hard at the hair cutting videos that I was hooked and have been watching since. I too love to sew , I am currently working on 5” crumb cake squares. Thank you for the inspiration!
I love how you don't always have a planned out design before you start! You show us How to get started and work through the creative process!!! Thank you 🎉🎉🎉
I had to think about why I love watching your videos so much. The answer I came up with is, I fuc'n love your creativity, imagination and your excitement when creating things. It draws me in every time. You are a hoot.
I'm a bit excited, too. Can't wait to see how you make something awesome out of small scraps & shreds. This is going to be fun!!!! Oh! And paper beads, please! lol; cheers to you, Joe, Rocket et toute la famille (Quebecer here😉 ).
These are art (no duh} that would look so cool on the wall! ❤ omg! Wouldn’t these look good mounted on top of different colors of burlap that you can fray a bit and mount on the wall! Buttons! Ok, stop me….lol! Thanks for all your ideas!!!
I’m so selfish! Darlene is BACK and she’s cutting fabrics and SEWING!!! 🧵 Gosh, I’ve missed watching you sew and talk about sewing. And just doing stuff with scraps. Having fun! Welcome back. 🎶🌸
Big Question Darlene: When cutting your bolts of fabric, do you use electric scissors or electric rotary cutters? My hands and thumb around where I hold the scissors get awfully sore.
Oh Darlene, I went to the Salvation Army and purchased all of their wedding gowns and prom dresses and cut them all up to use on quilts. I bought 75 of them and all it cost me was $125.00. I plan on putting the silk and satin around some of the squares as an embellishment. What do you think ?
hi 🌸 RUclips keeps unsubscribing me from your channel. It’s happening with a bunch of my other subscriptions too but I watch yours every day and i don’t understand why they’re doing this. thought you should know.

Shreds (and selvage) are what us Junk Journal creators love! Have a beautiful day Darlene! 💖
So happy to see you back playing with scraps
OMG you're on fire again! Happy times are here again... YES!
These remind me of your doodles, piecing different patterns, shapes & colours together. The end result for both looks so cool. Very creative & so pretty 🙂.
Ooh….. you’ve inspired me!
The dark strip “ties” all the blocks together.
Love it.
This would be a good way to use up old thread that is not strong enough to sew with. Old embroidery floss could be used too.
I've always loved quilts but never thought I had the patience or ability for the perfection of the quilts I was seeing. You showed me that imperfect and wonky is a goal!! I can achieve that and love my scrappy projects no matter if it is fabric or crocheting. Thanks for showing me this world.

Fantastic! It is so amazing to see the blocks transform from a mess to perfection when you trim the excess. Those 3 blocks are so pretty.
It's amazing how pretty those squares are after trimming.

Shreds scraps and no bullshit! They are beautiful, and I love it!❤ thanks Darlene for another great video.
They look like little paintings!❤
They are fabric mosaics. Lovely 😍

Love this. Need to find this stabilizer. The last one I used was black and bought from you. I ended making a tote bag and get so many compliments on it.
Love it. I know it as couching. Very therapeutic. I had forgotten I could do that as a wall hanging. Thanks, Darlene for another great awesome video.
Those are absolutely beautiful!!! The things you could make with these! Thank you for sharing this Darlene. Many blessings to you and your loved ones. 💕 💯
Darlene !! This is so creative and so much fun to watch you create!! Thanks!

Yes, it does look like the ocean. I have to go back and re-squares it for the material you used. I love it when you make these types squares.
Omg I’m in love with those squares. Wish I knew how to sew.
I love this, went back and watched your video while in Maine with moms tv in the background❤. That’s when I started saving the shreds. My friend thinks I’m crazy😂.
Let’s do a quilt in all this stuff..
I agree, yes let's do an all shreds, and crumbs quilt.
This was great. So creative and inspiring. Thank you for making these videos.
I absolutely love how you describe what to do. You are the only one I can make sense out of what you are doing. Thanks!
I really like the looks of these blocks, however, just wondering how well the quilts would hold up in the wash. I think I may sew a bit more on them. I like the threads at the end, finishes the blocks up so nicely.
These are not good for quilts. Way too stiff. They are good for tote bags, baskets, journal covers, wall art, stuff like that.
Hi Darlene! I have been watching you since Skylar was dyeing your hair. I laughed so hard at the hair cutting videos that I was hooked and have been watching since. I too love to sew , I am currently working on 5” crumb cake squares. Thank you for the inspiration!
Oh happy day. I love these type of videos. You are so creative
Love these squares. I’m going to try this. Thank you.
Hello Darlene, I weave my strings on a self adhesive backing into 11 in squares. I will set them aside and use them in special projects.
Beautiful creative outcome.👍🏻🙏
I love how you don't always have a planned out design before you start! You show us How to get started and work through the creative process!!! Thank you 🎉🎉🎉

Oh I love them. I like everything going in different directions.
Get a crochet hook and make a few chains of chain stitching to add to the shreds topping? For interest.
It's awsome Darlene👍Thank you very much for sharing your ideas.. I love it❤️💕💋 More love and power to you❤️🤗
You dear lady are so very talented!!! Love what u do! God bless!

Just so gorgeously fun!
Darlene…you need to connect with someone that has an embroidery machine. My friend saved all her thread trims. So much variety in beautiful colors.
That looks like an orca swimming on his back having a grand old time. Those are gorgeous.
Wasn't into this until I saw the finished product....those are great! ❤
Looking like great blocks!’
Could be panels on a denim jacket.

Thought it was going to be a hot mess but turned out really great! Nice tutorial!
Big Question Darlene: When cutting your bolts of fabric, do you use electric scissors or electric rotary cutters? My hands and thumb around where I hold the scissors get awfully sore.
Nothing electric. Plain old rotary cutter and some very old scissors.
I love these blocks. I don’t have the patience to do that.
Can you make some fabric beads with some scraps in the future please. ❤❤
Oh, yes!!! Love this idea!!!
This may be the coolest thing you’ve done yet!
Love these❤️😁🌹
Love this!
So cool, dimensional 🎉
Do you have a video on doing pintucking and using piping on a block for a cushion/pillow or tote bag? Thanks
So cool
Love it
Darlene, you mention making scrap rope. How do you do that, and what is it?
Love this! Did you use the clear thread in your bobbin also?
Yes, I did.
@@darlene.michaud great thank you!
These are awesome, What stitch did you do over the thread?
Hi from delaware
❤

BTW, in your video: How o turn narrow scraps into new fabric; I've never seen anything as Beautiful as the end product!!!
You cut so much fabric. How do you keep your scissors sharp?
hi 🌸
RUclips keeps unsubscribing me from your channel. It’s happening with a bunch of my other subscriptions too but I watch yours every day and i don’t understand why they’re doing this. thought you should know.
Put bridal mesh overand then sew. Edges will stay down as you sew.
I have that iron! 10 buck @ Walmart 🤓
May I ask what type of sewing machine tour using in this video?
The info and a video about the machine are in the description box of my videos.
Ok thank you
