I read both books (Auto Bio and 'Miles and Me') which made the interview much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise (still worth checking this out though). The band got WAY better on the second song. That pianist can REALLY play once she settles in and gets warmed up.
I first Miles Davis, play live was at his first English, UK tour 1960, at The Free Trade Hall, Manchester, UK. I was 20 years old at time. Memory of this Miles, concert still lives with me. Anyway, Sorry for being boringly nostalgic. Peace to all.
@45 min, miles is quoted as saying the plastic bumpers and such that replaced metal is progress ("progress"). that's ironic. my mechanic thinks cars are made worse and worse, the parts are badder and badder, lasting less time but costing way more. progress?
