Dark Tranquillity is my favorite melodic death metal band alongside Insomnium.🤘🏻 Every album is a masterpiece by them, in my opinion.😍 Mikael Stane, the singer and lyricist, is a freaking genius and mastermind and a really cool dude.🤘🏻 They pioneered melodic death metal actually with In Flames and At The Gates and fun fact: Mikael was the first singer for In Flames and Anders was the singer for Dark Tranquillity at first. Though Mikael was already a guitarist in In Flames at the time.😁
I'm surprised you never heard of Dark Tranquillity before, they're one of the most known melodeath bands or even metal bands in general, classic act. Glad you're enjoying them though. On the topic of the harsh vocals, Mikael is one of the more clear and easy to understand guys on the scene. Yeah Sweden and Finland are just destroying the genre with talent.
This is my absolute, and I repeat: absolute favorite Song. And this is, as you said, because it is so uplifting. The lyrics are incredibly powerfull without being violent in any way, Mikaels voice just in general makes me happy - either clean or shouting - and the instrumentation and arrangement is driving and energy giving. I can't help myself, but feeling better anytime I listen to this. And just today I learned, that they will play live at a Festival in my birth town here in Germany next summer, just next to the public Pool, where I have learned swimming some 35 years ago... yes, I am hyped beyond anything rational and I cannot wait til june next year. Seems, I love Dark Tranquillity 😇🥰 My recommendations for more from DT: Forward Momentum and from their latest album: Phantom Days and State of trust. And if you like Mikaels Vocals especialy, check out The Halo Effect, where he sings as well, and which is a kind of All Star Band made of former and sitting Members of Dark Tranquillity and In Flames. Dark Tranquillity is my favourite band. Their whole catalogue of music is incredible.
