my local hardware/lumber store gives them away as well, they call them spacers. I usually get 4-5 every time I buy some lumber. I have used them on many different projects and in different ways, spacers, jigs, even made some longer clamps than I had at the time. never thought about the candy canes, need to get more now...great ideas for this video. appreciate it very much
@@TheReformationWoodshop I bought a whole skid of them at the auction for three dollars. They have been used in multitudes of projects since then. I'm finally running out of them and it makes me sad....

Those are dunnage boards that come on lumber shipments.
Home Depot throws them away and will give them away for free.
We just call them “stickers”
