- Things start getting tough on this episode of the zero stat challenge. This level has some pretty brutal challenges that are tough with normal stats. For me? Well, I'm in for some pain.

but if you collect more money from earlier levels, you could buy Jango Fett, and equip his jetpack move on your current character for height. Technically cheating, but its a thing. would help with 100% for sure.
edit: i actually just checked and you CANT equip that move on any other skater. the only way you can get around that is playing as Jango Fett and lowering all his stats to Zero.
@foxy the bossatron / SnKy Foxeee it depends. im pretty sure you can buy cheats in-game so you could debate that those are fair game as well. imo, if hes just playing through all levels, no stats is doable. but for 100%, you would NEED it. hope he looks into and responds next video.
was about to say that jango jet jump can't be mapped to other skaters but i see you pointed that out :---). the "e" is absolutely possible to get with proper speed management though.
I already said this in an earlier video, but the trick for the Snake run is to hold Down from the moment you're starting your run (even before you're "launched" from the platform) till the end. This lowers your speed significantly and makes turning easier.
Good stuff. Two theories:
1. The Dog Bone mission is completed when you hit the second quarterpipe of the transfer. They figured everyone who got the last bone would land there so decided on the QP as the object that triggers the goal complete.
2. Maybe I'm being optimistic but is it possible to jump from a higher building/level for the E in Alcatraz?
That snake run goal I always remember driving me crazy! So damn hard!
But just when you're understanding it, you've beaten the challenge and you won't do it again for years. So when you replay the game years later you're like "how the fuck did I ever do this?"
Never had issues with the snake run. I could always make the turns at least on PS2 version.
The crooked grind to 180 over the gap at 21:50 looked awesome :)

I’ve never heard anybody else talk about not being able to see things like that before. People will ask me to grab an item on a coffee table and I won’t see it for like 30 seconds. Why is that?

Happened to me just last night. I was looking for a pencil sharpener on my table and my eyes refused to see it
it has something to do with the object at play being forced to the front of your active mind and your mind for some reason (i cant remember) avoids that specific item because it is the one being focused on

I played thps 4 as a kid, and then a few years ago I went to SF with my family and we went to alcatraz. Then some months later you posted your tony hawk reviews so I played thps4 and I was amazed how well they actually re created Alcatraz. Super cool
Dude you sooooooo had that E in the beginning, on your second try when the grind bailed you your speed was higher than the other attempts. I haven't seen the whole video yet but you can totally do it!

Dude that escape from alcatraz win was fuckin incredible! I would have 100% gave up on getting to the top of that boat.
Also it was very satisfying watching you do the vert competition. The low stats make every trick you in the air feel so much more badass.

I don't know if you know this little trick, but if you can remember to mash the buttons when you bail, you can speed up your animations and recover quicker!
You haaave to do an episode at the end where you battle it out for these 'impossible' ones and see which ones are truly impossible. It's interesting seeing this piece of my childhood played by this restriction! 🙏

I *absolutely* do the *relatively simple* mental math while playing, for sure, I imagine any and every player who can, does. Oh, true, not knowing if you're adding pressure to yourself or not, interesting slight internal challenge there, plus, *yes,* when there's this many goals, the difficulty swings way harder and sharper, because it's designed to have you do easier stuff in later levels, return for the hardest, and you having *some* freedom in your order of whidh goals to do...but in this game, it actively works against just...clearing out a level, period.
I have never resonated with anyone on the internet more than I just did with that fridge situation... I swear the same thing's happened to me with food or stuff people needed me to get from some cupboard countless times. Guess it's just our brains slightly zoning out and being like "okay, I gotta get something from the fridge" and the details of that just sorta disappear while we're doing the motions.
You're a mad man for grinding through the Alcatraz final challenge and Kona carving challange. I remember that Kona one giving me real trouble as a kid and when I replayed it a few months ago.

great format man. love this game, incredibly I played it for the first time two months ago.
this is a big contrast to Night Speeds recent video where he didn't even try and get many of the tape challenges on numerous levels. You spent probably an hour on 1 challenge lol. Good going man
while NS spends an hour pointing out that his english isnt great.
I can confirm the Alcatraz skate letters goal IS possible with zero stats. Also, are the pro challenges going to work with zero stats if they have to be completed with the pros?
For the Dog Chase goal in Shipyard...the goal requires you to transfer quarterpipe to quarterpipe when grabbing the last bone. You did the transfer with the maxed stats attempt, therefore it counted. Hopefully this helps.
Man some of these challenges look super hard with zero stats! But anyway I love these videos, especially the long ones!

getting that E you can get on the roof and jump from the peak.
The game just lags before completing the bone challenge. Like it takes a second or two to register completion but the timer runs out before it does, so the game counts it as failed. If you stat up your speed, you're grabbing the last bone at 2 seconds and the game still skips to 1 before completing the challenge.
Collect Skate on Alcatraz is possible. You made this look pretty fun (though I was swearing at Escape From Alcatraz) so I started playing a few days ago and I got Skate on Alcatraz! Are you going for everything including the red arrow challenges and pro specific? I remember those being some of the hardest ones. Like the Shipyard grind with... Bucky Lasek I think.
Kona does have a helmet rule and pads for rent, and I think it’s always been that way. You could be right that they wanted to make it a point to show their concerns for safety in the game. I think the Ramos family were the original owners and may still be.
10,000 points with a 10x multiplier is 100,000. I just base scores off that formula. The Speed runners I watch know the exact combos to do to get the right score it’s crazy

Did you try bonelessing out of the grind for the E? Also, I’d like to see you beat this game with stats. It’s an enjoyable game to watch you play.

I don't know (yet) if this version has it, but in the PS1 version you can hit L2 or R2 + Ollie to get extra height during jumps, it helps a lot to clear gaps and reach higher places, specially in the sewers level.

Also, not sure if you read comments or not, but try to add a special trick that involves holding your board up or out (like a Christ Air or Pizza Guy or whatever) and see if you can reach those higher objects that way?

That mission on 1:07 is super hard, and I think it's scripted as you said because with 0 stats on speed it should be easier but it looks as fast as on normal stats, I hate this mission haha

Recently I got a ps2
So for the old times I wanted to play thps3 and 4
Those are the games Ive been playing for the last month and I have to say that I love them both
But thps3 is like a classic to me and has lots of fun, every level is super funny and it is like this hard that gets you mad haha,I can get through the career as many times as I want frustration free
Thps4 is more complete, but also more complex and can feel heavy and frustrating at times
That's the last Tony hawk game I consider liking so far, after that I started to see many boring goals

You gave up on the birds goal in kona, but you never tried it at the tall end of the half pipe. It gives you an extra few feet, might make it possible.
On the apple labtop the cheat code was popcorn or was that for 3 and don't know if it's the same cheat code for all platforms

You may have issues later in the game (Kona) speaking from experience. I can not for the life of me collect all the pads that the geek wants.

You actually got out of switch landing backward in the luge/slalom challenge but landed switch again

Without increasing stats, maybe you could just make it if you had special, and Boneless'd from the rooftop where you grind the pipes to get the E in SKATE. I might have to see for myself though......Also, I'm thinking of trying a Max/13 Stats and Moon Physics/Gravity run of the Tony Hawk games, which I've experimented with in THPS2x during the competitions, and getting the cash from the bull dung in Bullring is an absolute NIGHTMARE to do, but I did it. Maybe after this is done, and if you don't do the other games, maybe give it a shot? I know it may seem that everything would be easy, but 100%ing them changes it completely. Some of these challenges are hard on their own, especially on Sick in the games that have them.

This should be streamed instead, the Kona snakerun for example you have to hold left thumbstick back in order to do sharp turns (viewers could help out with tips)

Just a personal note about that Applebees thing, there might not be drunks there all the time, but even having worked in multiple bars, I've seen more bar fights in Applebees
