So lemme get this straight. When we take control of Frisk in Undertale, we take away that characters free will to make choices. That is why there are different paths in Undertale, and the same thing is affecting Chara. This happens with Kris in Deltarune, but they are actually strong enough to override the player's "determination". However, regardless of who we control, us player's have the ending choice, and we are the ones with the power to override these worlds fates and give them a "good" or "bad" ending (pacifist, neutral, genocide, and post genocide). We are the ones who can leave a negative impact on the lives of these innocent NPC's and ruin the worlds of our "main characters". So, in theory, is the way to get a true, TRUE pacifist ending... ...to not play the game at all???

The vessel?) knows we're here. Notice how they look towards the camera at the end. - Kris' description was: "body contains a human soul". It sounds like Kris is just a vessel, like the one we created at the start and not an actual human. The wording is too specific. I'm not great at making theories myself, but I hope someone might find this useful!
Okay on your first thought, that is most likely because Kris has been possessed by Chara and then Chara has to adjust to being in a new body (Notice how they start walking quicker after the soul gets ripped out) on the second point, Chara said that they would destroy the world they were in during the genocide route and move on to the next one... and since Chara finished that route at level 20... it'd be safe to assume that they are more than capable of removing a soul and throwing it like it's nothing. Third point... Chara does speak directly towards the player at the end of the genocide route so it would make sense if they make the player aware that they know that they're there. Final point, Since Frisk was just a vessel in the genocide route, Chara may have transferred the vessel and the player's soul to the next world and when Chara saw that the player is incapable of killing anyone (or in the pacifist case, the player refused to harm anyone) so Chara takes over... maybe the next chapters will focus on trying to convince Chara not to kill anyone... but the game says your choices don't matter... so maybe you'll have to kill Chara… which will then cause the chain reaction of the player taking Chara's levels through killing them and then... they go insane and try to kill everyone. IDK I'm not so great at theories either.
Before the soul is out you can see that Kris is flinching (or how you write it). This means that it hurts a lot. I think that was the last look of Kris before Chara took over

I HAVE A THEORY!!! I think that Kris... Is Chara and Frisk! It might sound crazy but I will explain! BTW SPOILERS! You see, I think that Frisk and Chara share the same body. Haven't you wondered WHY you can't go genocide in Deltarune? Why you can't do much choices? Now this might be the reason! In the game you could TRY and kill the enemy but they didn't die. Probably because the good part of Kris (Frisk) was (somehow) affecting the game/player to go pacifist. And in this incredibly creepy ending when Kris fly's out of bed it looks like Kris is being possessed, possessed by Chara (aka the evil side of Kris). What left me wondering is how does Kris have any remote knowledge when it came to asking characters like sans and undyne about there alternate timeline relationships in undertale. For instances why would Kris question officer undyne over alphys? What would incite kris to do so unless he had for whatever reason knowledge regarding undertales undyne and alphys relationship ? Undertale and delta rune are both self questioning games, and it's noted numerous times throughout the game when a "brsaking the third wall" action takes place. You see, I think that Frisk and Chara share the same body. Haven't you wondered WHY you can't go genocide in Deltarune? Why you can't do much choices?
Now this might be the reason!
In the game you could TRY and kill the enemy but they didn't die. Probably because the good part of Kris (Frisk) was (somehow) affecting the game/player to go pacifist. And in this incredibly creepy ending when Kris fly's out of bed it looks like Kris is being possessed, possessed by Chara (aka the evil side of Kris). It was like if Chara used all her strength to control the body so that she could throw out the soul of Frisk (the heart). And then when Kris (Chara) took up the knife and looked to the screen (the player) they showed them that it was only Chara left in the body. And MAYBE in chapter two you will be able to go genocide.
ALSO! The name Kris does kinda sound similar to Frisk, and the K in the beginning resembles Chara ( I mean I pronounce Chara with a K so...)

What left me wondering is how does Kris have any remote knowledge when it came to asking characters like sans and undyne about there alternate timeline relationships in undertale. For instances why would Kris question officer undyne over alphys? What would incite kris to do so unless he had for whatever reason knowledge regarding undertales undyne and alphys relationship ? Undertale and delta rune are both self questioning games, and it's noted numerous times throughout the game when a "brsaking the third wall" action takes place. Same thing for Kris telling sans "good to see you again" when thst was his first time meeting him
a common theory is that the soul you control isn't kris, but the player themselves taking kris over

So the after Genocide True Pacifist ending...when Chara wakes from the bed at the end of Undertale...is the "True True" Ending after all... I have a feeling we will confront this..."demon" in a future Toby Fox game

Scaring people, playing mean jokes, etc. all things Chara is known for when he was a human. That’s not even to mention the blood stain next to the Bird cage.
Not to mention the save game that we overwrite at the start says “Kris” but we overwrite it with our name.
