Listened to the first one as a 5 year old, the second & third as an elementary schooler, and now I'm almost 16 and I am obsessed with Father of the Bride
It was the first band, along with two door cinema club, that I have listened to with my wife at the beginning of our relationship :) thank you for the video!!! I am feeling 10 years younger now :D
@@ruuna3887 That, and Horchata, and White Sky. Forgot how many I consider masterpieces when I started writing this comment. Hell even Run and Taxi Cab.
I knew all of this and yet is just so satisfying and cozy to see these beautiful graphics and well written voice over about my favorite band. Thank you ❤️
did i know everything you mentioned in this video before watching? yes. did i still enjoy watching it? HELL YES. these dudes stole my heart in late middle/early high school and i can't wait to finally get to see them in concert later this year :)
Great video thanks! I am an old punk rock lady who just loves these guys, their music makes me happy. They are coming to my neck of the woods this year, can't wait!
All my siblings and my cousins, most who are about 10 years older than me are all super into vampire weekend. Obviously since all of them are I am too. We’ve all been listening for a long time now. Needless to say “Cousins” is all of our favorite song.
This was very informative! It came up as a recommended and I’m so glad it did! I’ve listened to VW before but never really looked into who they are, thanks!
If I tried to describe their music, it would be a mix of rock and weirdness. It’s so fun seeing a band take a common thing like alt rock and add quirky tidbits to make it unique. That’s how you can tell them apart from the rest of their genre: the weirdness. It’s impressive how far they’ve come in the years they’ve been active. Father of the Bride is organic and feels like a story being told with lessons being learned with every song. Also ezra’s probably the most gorgeous human being i’ve ever seen
I've been into vampire weekend for a few years, but last few weeks have been revisiting, and gets me excited for fotb. Also having recently rewatched Ezra Koenigs show neo yekio, which if you haven't seen, please do.
I love these mini documentaries you do! I started listening to them last summer after pushing them off because of thinking they be too "boring" though after a podcast recommending Modern Vampires of the City I fell in looove with it. So beautiful and the lyrics are so amazing too. Then I back tracked and I still can't believe that their debut album in 2008. I really slept on them though they really have so much to offer and I can't wait for Father of The Bride!
I started getting into them in early high school (6 years ago??) because I found one of their band t-shirts and liked it, and gave them a shot and boy was I glad!
I was kind of in an Indie Rock phase during my middle school years and either got tired of the genre or grew out of it. But vampire weekend is the one band I can consistantly listen to.
Cousins was my first favourite by them, then I heard Harmony Hall and it was one of my highest played songs for the past few years. Now I'm getting more into them. Hannah Hunt, Giving up the Gun, A-Punk, they're classic indie/alt now
I first found vamprie weekend a few years back when watch_dogs came out. Meaning watch_dogs had an in game radio and that played Diane young taking my vague intrest in music and actually making me want to search out new indie bands
They are coming in aug and i want to see them so bad. But i just dont have the money and it breaks my heart. When ever i need a pick-me-up i listen to "horchata". I love the new song too. They are so good and i feel somewhat underrated.
I never fucked with indy or pop and only had heard and seen ezra on Major Lazer "Vampire Weekend" episode and the song Jessica like maybe 10 years ago, never thought to look them up. Then randomly looked them up the other day and heard them for the first time and here I am and 32 years old and was instantly hooked, literally have been listening to them non stop for the last week or two since I checked them out. They sold me with that line: "why would you lie 'bout anything at all? first the window, then its to the wall Lil John he always tells the truth" 😎👌
I was just introduced to this band in the last year or two. I really pick up a Paul Simon vibe, and I do see that they have covered Paul Simon before. Do any of the band members attribute any influence to Paul Simon? Any, I really like this band and thanks for the video!
@@VoOrT3xX Alt J is my favourite!! I'm guessing they're yours too, your display picture is the thumbnail for Fitzpleasure. I also love Glass Animals, Two Door Cinema Club, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Bombay Bicycle Club

Vampire Weekend was one of the bands that started my whole indie music journey when I was in elementary school
Same!
Me too
Me too , i think my passion for music start 10 years ago when i discovered Vampire Weekend. Best band ever
High school for me lol but same
Right! It’s like I grew up with them
Fun fact: they all had to take part in Colombia’s traditional swimming test and pass in order to graduate
Colombia? Was the swimming test in the Amazon river?
J. A. Antón lol
You made a mistake with L'Homme Run. It wasn't Ezra and Chris, it was Ezra and Andrew Kalaidjian. Andrew is now a professor at a California college.
Thank you I was about to comment this.
He is now a professor?? Wow this is new. Thanks for the info!
Chris did help out with L'homme Run but it was definitely mainly andrew and ezra
Sunflower is my current obsession, that songs so fucking good and addictive
This band raised me...
That's why I'm here
omfg same. mansard roof was my 6 year old anthem.
Me to because of a-punk and Diane young

That's actually awesome, cute even.
how does one have such a variety of a channel and still upload as much as you do, insane work man good job
"Contra" is one of the best albums of the decade, Horchata is an anthem
Glad someone finally has respect for that album. It's a masterpiece and I love every single song on it
California English is 🔥🔥
Diplomat’s Son is great!
my favorite album by far, diplomat's son is a masterpiece in my opinion

FOTB was fantastic, definitely lived up to the hype.
So happy to see an Alfo Media video about my favorite band. Legends stan legends.
When I saw them live baio was absolutely electric. You could see how he felt the music
I've been waiting on a vampire weekend video forever sir thank u for this blessing
I'm obsessed with everything about this video
I GREW UP LISTENING TO VAMPIRE WEEKEND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
They're kind of the only reason I seriously got into music and started caring about the technique. They're kind of incredible.

This band is the reason why I decided to become a musician
I'm enjoying this immensely
One of the best bands ever.
I am just getting into Vampire weekend so the timing is perfect! My favorite song of them is Harmony Hall
as FULL vampire weekend devotee and absolute fangirl I still learned new things about them wow love ur videos!!
Its about time you make a vampire weekend video, been waiting since I subscribed!

VAMPIRE WEEKEND IS THE GOAT
I've been a fan since I was like 9 I'm nearly 18 and just learning about these guys😂

I watched a 3 minute ad for you
you couldn't skip a 3 minute ad?!?
I’m pretty sure that doesn’t do anything. I think you have to go to whatever their advertising for ad revenue idk tho
When the clip of A-Punk started I started sipping my water along with the tempo
YES THE VIDEO IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!
I've been a fan since I heard Diane Young in 2013 :D
I love vampire weekend
i had a dream with them in it once. we were at some college and i was looking for the library. they were very nice in my dream
Diane Young doesn't use pitch shifting, it uses a moving frequency cut to adjust the tone quality.
Vampire weekend are a blessing to music
Pizza Prty is a banger
unbelievers sis one of my favorites
This intro is so relatable
such a good video!
They haven’t put out a bad record. Their sound is constantly evolving, but not according to popular trends. Vampire Weekend is indie’s Kendrick Lamar
I’ve been to Ezra’s childhood home when I was in high school.
oh damn i should totally listen to them. im like them. i dont really know but i think im like them
Taxi Cab is their BEST song! Love it! Love it! Love it!!!!!!!!!!
oxford comma such a banger
They styled themselves rather preppy ironically.
Ezra is my favourite human
