Thanks for the straightforward vid and good sound comparisons! Just got this keyboard and looking to do some basic mods. Do you think its safer to use electrical tape since the battery can get pretty hot? Or does it not really matter P.S. Since the case is metal, you should consider adding tape between the top and bottom pieces of the case (look up the force break mod). I think it dampens the ping sound and makes it feel less hollow Thanks
Glad the video helpful to you! I was about to use electrical tape but didn't have one at home. For PCB and electronic stuff, it is true that non-conductive tape actually safer. Probably I will put that in the description so that everyone will know :) And thank you soo much for the metal case tip, will do it straightaway!
Congrats on the new keeb, mate! I got mine a week ago, after using a Leopold FC750R for three years. PE Foam and Holee mods bring some thockiness too. I ended up getting Akko CS Lavenders and Panda PBT keycaps. Looks and feels amazing.
I think the keyboard won't draw that much power to cost overheating like phones. And, it should be safe if you use a non-conductive tape like electrical tape (recommended) for the pcb. In the video, I used masking tape, not highly recommend but no issue so far :)

Electrical tape will leave a gross residue if you ever need to peel it off. The small amount of heat from the battery might even make it gooey.
Cool Video, didn't know the tape mod makes such a big difference
Thank you :) Yea I was surprised by it too

Thank you so much! Definitely will look into the switch you mentioned :) Congrat on your new keyboard as well 😄
You talking about using PE Foam between the switches and PCB, right?
@@PrestonTo Yep.
Gateron oil kings and HK Gaming PBT keycaps

Hope you like the video :) And have a good day all
What kind of switches are you using?
Cool !! Is the tape mod really safe for Q1 pro ? I'm worried about battery overheating.

Ink box switches. Nice Bassey thick thock.
Thank you! I will keep that in mind
