It should do the trick. You wont be able to edit 360 degree videos and the ssd is 128gb so storage is limited without any upgrades. It comes with 4gb of ram which can also be upgraded. If I may ask what type of editing software were you planning on using? I can check the pc requirements? But definitely for gaming, highly limited
I bought 2 of these last year for $310 each. I upgraded everything. Both got Intel 660p 512GB NVME drives. Both got 1 TB SSD drives in the additional slot for them. Came with the hardware to do it. Also upgraded the RAM to 16 GB, running in dual channel. One machine I got rid of Mode S for regular Windows 10. The other machine I loaded Ubuntu 18.04, then 20.04 when it was available. Works great under Ubuntu. Everything works, including the webcam. I use BT on both machines to talk to peripherals like mice and speakers. No hiccups. Get about 5 hours out of each machine from a full charge. Great laptops. Highly recommended.

Watching this on my Acer Aspire 5 Slim! I can't recommend enough getting the extra 4 gb RAM and have 8 GB on a dual channel it makes all the difference! You can't go run with this one if you are on a budget
Correction: the usb 3 (blue usb port) on the left side is next to the headphone jack. I don’t know what my thumb was doing in the video but I was trying to identify each port in order. The usb 2 port is beside the hdmi out port.
It uses an m.2 ssd which is faster and more common than mechanical hard drives. It comes with windows 10 s which means you would have to switch it to windows 10 home edition which most people do. If you keep it on windows 10 s mode it will be more secure but you can’t download 3rd party apps like google chrome or firefox. For the ads popping up I think that depends on the website you visit or programs you run.
WOW classic? at stock unfortunately no. it requires 2GB dedicated gpu memory. Stock the dedicated gpu memory is 512MB. With a ram upgrade it should run. as a ram upgrade would increase the dedicated and shared gpu memory. The thing that limits this laptop is the cpu. Not really meant for gaming with a dual core.
Will you be using software such as adobe illustrator and photoshop? I could be wrong but isn’t the minimum requirement for illustrator is 8gb with 16gb of ram recommended? This laptop comes with 4gb, although it is easy to upgrade. As stock, I don’t think this will have enough ram to do illustrator. It should be able to run photoshop but not very well. It is a 1080p display so that’s good. I can test the laptop for illustrator and photoshop, but I have upgraded the laptop with 32gb of ram, but I can still test it.
that is an excellent question. It says on the box Acer 65 watts. The power supply (of the computer) is 65 watts (that's why I typed that in the video, I figured I might say something incorrect). The adapter itself technically says Output of 45.1W with 50.19 Kh. Also, I didn't want to confuse everyone because when you do a search for a replacement adapter it shows as 65W AC Charger Fit for Acer Aspire 5 A515-51 or something like that. It’s pretty good for school especially the price. 720p camera and backlit keyboard. It can run microsoft office no problem. You will have to remove windows s mode if you want to download google chrome or software like zoom. Battery life is around 6.5 hours (5-6 hours I would say for watching youtube videos etc) not a bad laptop at all.
it's better in some ways like the backlit keyboard and the ips full 1080p display. In terms of ram and ssd, just the same. It is also $110 dollar more at $350 dollars. The Hp 14 you can get on sale for $240 dollars. This laptop can also be upgraded.
Also, the ram description in amazon was misleading. Supposed to be 2666 MHz, but when I checked the stats it was running at 2400MHz, I'm wondering if the laptop cannot go past 2400 MHz. Also there's some bloatware on this laptop I just noticed. Amazon shortcut in the taskbar etc. The 2020 Hp 14 has way better speakers. The acer aspire has better battery life from what I can tell so far, but wow the speakers on the acer are super weak/subpar. No usb C on the acer or an SD card reader. The acer is good if connecting to a bigger tv because it has 1080 resolution while the hp only has 768. In terms of gpu the 2020 hp 14 has 2GB dedicated GPU. The acer only has 512MB for dedicated GPU which is going to make it a challenge for me to test games without any upgrades on this acer.
Btw, I wasn’t able to check the hp for dedicated gpu and shared ram before the upgrade. I wish I did. For future videos I will make sure to take screenshots to confirm comparisons and stuff. Just letting you know.
Like running auto cad programs? Based on most autocad programs you need at least 8gb ram with a recommended 3.0ghz cpu. This laptop only comes with 4gb ram (which can be upgraded). Although the cpu is 2.6 ghz base speed up to 3.5. If it’s for cad not recommended. But just my opinion because I don’t have experience running intense cad software

Laptop ram ddr4. The weird thing with this laptop is the ram it comes with is a 4gb with 2666 mhz speed but the laptop can only read it as 2400 Mhz speed. The ram I ordered was two sticks 16gb of ddr4 @2400 MHz because that is what the computer can read
